Same age here...im from Chicago..lots of these guys were my friends. Truly we were united in music and dance in the clubs and outside. Not sure what the hell has happened to humanity!
I am here reminiscing too. Great times in a great time period! I can't find too many people (our age as well) into House Music nowadays. This brings back so many happy memories. Peace, Love, and House!!!!
Chicago hip house at it's best! I remember cruisin' down Madison st. with the t-tops off my car while blastin' this joint! Then i'd stop at Coleman's Ribs on Cicero and grab an order of Tips! Man those were the days!
15 at the time, this track killed it!!! I remember I used to race home from school on Fridays when a local radio station played hip house for about 1-2 years and tape each and every session.
+Nex Wex yep. feel you both. im a 44 year old white dude and didn't really notice house until I heard this. I was hooked in 89 & still am for that matter
I´m 49 years old and like the oldschool hip house style! Sydney Fresh, Tyree Cooper, Joe Smooth and Fast Eddie are my heroes at the end of the 80ies...
Where is my time machine... I am going back. Who is with me? Damn those were some of the best years of my life; lots of growing, learning and experiences... none of which I would ever change. Thx for the track upload. ;)
I was an 11 year old kid, just discovering House and Hip Hop when this came out (not like now where everything is at your finger tips, there was still an 'underground' back then!) I tracked it down at a local record store and still love it 36 years later!
Fast Eddie is the ultimate creator of Hip House! I had the honor of meeting him... truthfully a respectful musician...beyond a great person! That's why my mixes have his music. check them out....
@@donalonzo63 not the same guy but I put this one on my all-kind-of-dance-music mixes too www.mixcloud.com/do7ob/the-future-it-aint-what-it-used-to-be
Absolutely heavy came out at a time when most people didn't have a clue about hip house as a matter if fact this defines the genre and the template for others to follow and leads to present day. DJ Fast Eddie we salute you
I was a DJ from 85-91. This was the Best time for Club,: House, Acid, Hi NRG, Freestyle, Techno, Hip Hop, Deep House, Underground & Thrash/Metal mixing. Yep,Thrash/Metal went very well when it came to hot mixing. I did it 3 nights/wk at my home club and for the last 2 also did guest spots at other clubs 2 more nights a week during the summers. I can't remember how Much I made because I loved doing it for fun. Come to think of it, those years are still quite fuzzy. Damn good times!
Thumbs down people hang their head in shame...this will only ever be a massive thumbs up...epic hip house, about time we got this back on the dance floor...
wow what a different time, I'm 49 and I kinda turned my nose up at Hip house but this is a dope tune, Fast Eddie is a class rapper, his rhymes are like bullets
When my parents and siblings were out of the house, I'd put my head between my floor speakers and put the 12inch version of this. No needs for drugs. This sent me in a trance
went nuts 2 this in 1988 first hurd on jeff youngs big beat radio 1 friday night show ' im still danceing 2 this in 2018 '' big respect fast eddie' tyree cooper ' rocky jones' benji espinoza ' dj international yeah bwooooy 😮👍👌👊☝
Thank you! I have had this song rattling around in my brain for years but could not remember the name of it. All I had were snippets of lyrics. I love the internet.
an absolutely legendary track!. remember it well. with the f-a-s-t e double d i-e.....hip house was huge in the late 80s along with normal house music. great days!. remember we were in ibiza and one of the guys i was on holiday with was sick with the flu....he had tissue paper shoved up his nose and all he was murmuring was funky funky...haha....it was his version of yo yo get funky! funny as fuck! those were the days. and why the low number of views for this track - scandalous! legendary track!
Wow. Miss those days of cruising around the streets of Chicago while smoking weed and drinking mgd. I can almost smell the weed and Calvin Klein eternity.
this and young mc is my fav from my 1st pill [dove] at my first acid house do at busbys in Charing Cross road London. The night was called the mud on Fridays in 1989 and run by Phillip salon [legend] . I can say it was the most euphoric moment of my life 100%. carl cox and mark Moore of s express was dj,ing . from there I ended up at Wallis rd hakney at a warehouse do run by rat pack [mark and everson absolutely amassing. Is there anyone else out there who went to these do,s around that time or Camden palace in 1989 on Friday or Saturday I would love to se your comments. BIG UP 1989 THE SECOND SUMMER OF LOVE GENUINE XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX TOYOU ALL.X
Still sounds amazing, should be rereleased. Almost a genre in itself, hip hop trance. D-Shake took the vocals out of this stuff and called it Yaaah, bloody hypnotizing that was on the dance floor.

tubeornottubeuseful Original sample comes from Afrika Bambaata - Planet Rock. I'd bet that's a good pension from the number of samples he's had. :-)
It's already called Hiphouse, as it's always been called, hardly any reason to start calling it something else.
Brilliant! :)
This has to be one of the GAWDDAMN tracks of the 80's.
