I dont think wearing MX boots for street riding is a good idea.
The main reason is the intended impact design and the consequences of the weight. MX boots are heavy, speed and weight generate momentum, in a high speed incident the weighted boots will pull and twist damaging your knees, hips, and all the connective tissue in between. In most street riding crashes the rider and bike will be separated negating the impact and crush protection of the boots, but again your sliding and rolling with giant ankle weights. They are also clunky, dont provide much feel and generally uncomfortable if you have to walk. They are not designed for and are not safe for street riding.
I cant remeberer the source but someone contacted Forma and they confirmed that the additional stiffness, weight and protection would be counterproductive in a low speed city crash or a spill at highway speeds. MX boots arent meant for use on hard surfaces like roads and concrete.

I am glad to hear that, buddy. They are brilliant boots. I wish I could get them in the blue/grey color, though!
Modified Xpulse - would love to see it. And yeah, they'll give you a lot of confidence off-roading. I completed my Level 1 training and bashed around on some trails since then.

      Sure man,
You can look at pure touring boots or sport touring boots (a bit more safer). If you don't mind a bit of stiffness, proper race boots are the best.
      Check out:
      1. Raida Explorer
      2. Falco Atlas 2
      3. RYO T-Rex
      4. Gaerne sport touring ones (I had the G Evolution Five -- brilliant boots but broke after 3 years)
      5. Tarmac Speed
BBG, Solace, and Axor also have some options
