I appreciate everybody's thought process of choosing what they chose but for me I like trying to stick to what the story presents and the Lotus is what form she took before it gives you the choice to change it so to me that is the form she chose to be so I kept it as the lotus because I believe it would be wrong to change her from what she chose to be
I can accept the choice of Margulis as a clean slate, but the idea that Natah would abandon the Tenno entirely seems silly. Natah was the one who choose to protect the Tenno. Lotus was merely an identity she adopted to conceal her past and keep them safe. After all that's happened, it's not really needed. I think the choice of Natah represents the removal of masks and acceptance of once nature as well as nurture. Adopting the Lotus identity makes sense as the neutral option as it wasn't an identity someone else forced upon her, but one she created (even if it was for a purpose). The choice of Margulis, while being a clean slate, can be considered as a means to deny her sentient nature in an effort to be what Paladino reminded her, she is not- hence it being the "dark" choice.
NATA was who she was born as and whi Hunhow and Erra wanted her to be. Margulus is who Ballas (and to an extent, the tennno) desperately wanted her to be. Lotus is who she chose to be. She chose this after her initial brainwashing, and took the form imediately after being freed from Ballas. It was also the yinyang option, the middle ground between Nata and Margulus. But all are her and all are valid.
I chose Natah because she's definitely not Margulis. She was forced to become Lotus because of the circumstances happening with hiding the Tenno, which isn't really her either. She was born as Natah and I think that is her truest, most free form.
I think most of us thought this through as much as you did. Natah is her origin. Lotus is what she chose to be. Margulis is what the tenno sees her as. That's how I thought of it anyway. Personally, I chose Lotus because as Natah, she was sent in as a spy. Which is like the purpose of her creation. And she chose the Tenno over her own family to become the Lotus. And The New War felt like her finally being able to completely close the book on her past as Natah. It just felt fitting for her to go through with what she started. Margulis choice might be the rarest one among the players. But it's understandable. I think I can also look at it like Natah being her bittersweet past she has to live with, and Margulis is the sweet dream we wish we could have. And Lotus is the middle-ground. afaik this choice is permanent. Although you can buy cosmetics to make her look like Natah, Lotus, or Margulis, I think somewhere down the line there will be a difference (probably not that major) in the story quests depending on who you chose. Maybe just dialogue differences, I imagine
Just stumbled upon this and ur not alone at over analyzing the shit out of this, i eventually went with Natah myself because i felt like its her truest form. I personally find that choosing Margulis is kinda weird because she is Natah and she made herself into Lotus. She was never Margulis its a completely different person and i feel that by choosing Margulis we are kinda forcing into being this person that she is least connected to.
That's a really interesting way to look at it. I think if I were to do it over again, I would have picked Lotus, since Natah chose to be Lotus. Either way, it was a really hard choice! I'm glad I'm not the only one to have over-analyzed it ^__^

I chose Margulis. As Margulis she basically said 'screw you' to her dad and Ballas and chose to help kids who were hurting. She then created Lotus to keep the past from resurfacing as that identity and hurting her children. I felt she was always Margulis, she never liked being Natah, as that means submitting to her father who has his own plans. Margulis is who she is. She has greater freedom as Margulis. That is my thought process on why I chose Margulis.
I chose Margulis and I still regret it, basically because I now feel it's the complete opposite of what you were saying. The form of Margulis and the identity of Lotus were both just facades she was forced into, first by hunhow for infiltration then by Ballas because he wanted Margulius back. Natah is who she is regardless of form and the one who chose to help the Tenno. Margulis is something she was forced into twice and Lotus was just a new name to stay under the radar while helping the Tenno. I'm pretty sad we still don't have the option to change it because the model and being able to see her face on the Margulis choice is really what forced my hand despite being torn in terms of story. I thought the whole "you can change appearance later" would just be changing colors for the choice you made. Hell for some people on day 1 their choice bugged out entirely. Kinda sucks.

She was created by the Sentient and given a purpose, a purpose that has conditions, Hunhow is very clear that she is an enemy until she fulfils her duty and destroys the Tenno, he emotionally manipulates her to try and go along with his genocide multiple times, she was programmed either through manipulation or literally at her creation, if you think about it she didn't become a fully actualized person until she had another perspective forced on her, I think that's really the beauty of the writing is showing that to be conscious is to be complex, one can argue that the Orokin devolve into a selfish hedonistic consciousness, and the Sentient having recently become conscious have yet to evolve out of tribalism
If you choose one decision margulis from lotus you get to use both you can always change them at the helmet station if you only choose lotus you have to buy the other two u can also customize her
I just finished The New War last night and I wanna give my two cents on this. At the end, I chose Natah. I thought about it and to me, that was the correct choice. Yes, Hunhow wants her to return as Natah, but that's who she truly is, who she originally was. I chose that because I feel like it would be a clean slate for her. Margulis started out as a form she took as a spy, and the Lotus is the identity she adopted to be free of her past who's personality was unintentionally molded by the dreams of the Tenno. Now that she's Natah once again by her own volition (even though they made us as the player choose), she has a fresh start and from there I can see her choosing what she truly wants from here on out.
i pick Her orinal name, she be spy Take Marulis place and new name, i give her back her old one, and nexst give her classic lotus look, that sentient is hmmm strange.
I pick lotus since she is actually both characters but lotus is the third party. Why? To me lotus is the one listen both sides and take both advise bring it to reality
Margulis is dead. To force her to act as she did, to live impersonating someone, I felt it was wrong. So that choice I did away with instantly. Lotus was the persona created by Ballas to guide the Tenno. She sounded so hurt and defiled when she told the memory of this process it became hard for me to choose this option. Whilst she no longer is Natah, the sentient spy queen, at least I think it's the healthiest option to begin a new journey from. She can decide wether what she has experienced as the Tenno's guide and custodian is all a lie, or if she grew to care on her own, herself.
