I believe when she left to find a way out of the merge she stepped down and didn't want to be anything but a mother. Or that's what I gathered anyways. But you all are right she was co headmistress. Personally I think they fucked this up just like the fucked up TVD and Originals...but that's an entirely different beef I have with the writers and producers. So many pointless deaths.

God the last time I cried so hard it's when The Vampire Diaries ended its like it ended all over again I really going to miss them all so much, I was so happy to see Caroline and Klaus again, it's funny back in a day I hated Klaus Mickelson but now I love him and I wish he could be there with Hope and Landon and I wish Hayley could have been there too. I really hope this isn't the end of TVD universe there are so many more stories to tell. I going to miss them all so much, I wish more People who we all know and love could have been in the final like Davina, Kol, Elijah, Marcel, Rebecca, Freya, and I wish Elana and Damon and Stefan were there too. The Vampire Diaries The Originals and Legacies always and forever have special place in my heart ❤️

They know that Jo is their mom and Caroline is their surrogate. When they met Kai (Jo’s brother) Josie said to him “I’m Josie, named after my mom who you killed”. But they obviously still love Caroline because she raised them.

I loved all three shows. I hate that they are leaving netflix at the end of June. Personally I think they fucked this up just like the fucked up TVD and Originals...but that's an entirely different beef I have with the writers and producers. So many pointless deaths that didn't actually have to happen. And the slashing of characters HEA as well. I will miss the shows but I wish they had thought things through and remembered things from other shows (they just changed timeless and shit).

Am I the only one who realised the tension between the actors who play Caroline and Alaric? I have a theory that he is the reason she's not wanted to appear on the show. Some actresses have noted they feel uncomfortable working with him. I don't think it's a coincidence that Caroline and Alaric aren't in a single scene together and she's only returned as he is leaving. Even this "Headmistress Reveal" scene is in 2 different takes
It had nothing to with that. Candice (Caroline’s actress) literally said she had planned to come back a long time ago, but she got pregnant and then the pandemic happened and she couldn’t risk coming back because she had 4 kids at home.

Caroline never married Alaric. He said that because Caroline married Stefan, so she is a salvatore through her marriage to him and the school is literally named “the Salvatore school”. Plus she was also the surrogate of the daughters he and his late wife Jo had.
