I got caught in the middle of a situation like this in Yellowstone and thought I was about to get ripped apart. Luckily they ignored me and just went after each other long enough for me to gtfo of there. I don’t recommend going off trail in Yellowstone.

Most impressive/terrifying part is their speed and agility for how big they are. 😳
People always say that, but have you watched videos of OTHER species of animal fighting? Almost EVERYTHING moves insanely fast when it is fighting or trying to escape a predator.
Their strength to weight ratio is high, they probably weigh 400 to 500lbs but can probably move boulders as heavy as 700lbs, maybe even heavier.

Bear attack: when I was a boy in Maryland, my dad knew a guy that had been chainsawing wood in the mountains. A bear chased him down from the mountain side to his truck. Not having enough time to unlock it and jump in, the man rolled under his truck. The bear reached under swiping with it's claws and shredded the man's side of his body and limbs. He lived but was never the same. Those bears are now taking now in such mass amounts in the Maryland/WVa area that it is unfathomable. These things are no joke

In alaska i came up on 2 brown bears fighting on the beach. They caught a whiff of me and my buddy and turned towards us and started sprinting at us full speed (30-35mph) @ about 700-800 lbs. we were 100 yards away and the skiff/boat was only 40-50’ away and we still were hardly able to get in it, start the engine and get to a safe distance. These are the apex predators of the woods and ive seen them knock trees down!!! Somedays you eat the bear, somedays the bear eats you! ☠️💪🏻

Like most people, I have an affinity for the great apes, but often wondered how a leopard (which is not the largest of the big cats) can kill a gorilla? I had learned since then that gorillas and chimps, although very strong as we all know, share a physiological vulnerability with us and here in this video is a prime example of why they~like us~are more vulnerable to teeth and claw than animals like bears and big cats whose skin is loose and 'gives' like tectonic plates over its musculature. For example, grabbing a kitten or puppy by the scruff of its neck and its skin would give (it looks as if it stretches, which it doesn't), you couldn't do that with a human baby.
A leopard, which has been known to kill gorillas, would do much more damage upon a gorilla (as it would a human being) than against another big cat, because our skin does not 'give', we'd be easily sliced open. That's not to say of course, that these animals cannot inflict terrible wounds upon another, just that we (gorillas/humans) are more vulnerable to such attacks than they. As such, if the attacks in this video was inflicted upon a person, their skin would have been ripped open with much bloodshed, but that's not the case with these two bears.
Don’t forget that they target the young and weak. As do most predators (except humans and orcas).
