    Eric Clayton is an icon.
Use to have a Goth phase and also Christian til this day. It was great knowing that a band existed that had my beliefs and with a style that was frowned upon.
Savior Machine had to take a lot of heat so that Christisn bands nowadays won't face that much scrutiny.
It's a shame all these Christian bands don't at least give thanks. And same as the Goth community not even paying the band any tribute. My Goth club won't even play this even if I request it. They don't have the balls. Lol
Christian Goth is still very much obscure. It's just great knowing that Savior Machine are still around.
    God bless Savior Machine!!!

Only if the recording studio had been on the level as the talent. But nonetheless a master piece

I found Saviour Machine over the past few months while diving into Christian Metal. It's been the main music genre I've been listening to since then. I like the tones of gothic, grunge, and metal, but lyrics are very important to me. They're the only gothic band I really listen to and I wish there was more like them. The music is so moving if I ever get into making any music it would be because of Saviour Machine.

You might also want to check out Eva-O, in particular the album Demons Fall for an Angel's Kiss. It's been a favorite of mine for decades and I don't know off the top of my head if there's anything out there quite similar to it but I guess there are some commonalities with Saviour Machine which I just now noticed.

Children of Power. I think it's the 1st Christian Goth band. But they've only had one album which is very rare to find. But here on RUclips their music lives on.

Dude!!! there is me and a friend with the band at 56:44 that was such a fun show. I didn't have a good impression of Jimmy Brown's attitude at the time, but, man, I remember Eric Clayton being cool and chill towards us

Thank you guys for posting this. I was completely obsessed with this record when I was about 18 or 20 years old and it brings such deep memories when I hear it today. As a drummer, Sam’s performance was also really special to me. To see footage of you guys tracking these songs is amazing. I can’t wait to see more.
I met you, Eric at that Tom Fest. I was shaking in my boots approaching you at the merch table. Somehow I ended up watching Apocalypse Now on your bus after befriending some of your crew.
I was eventually thoroughly thrilled with the Legend records, but nothing is as truly special and frankly underrated as this album. Desert island shit for me. Thanks again.

It still ceases to amaze me how many of these Christian bands from back then that are so rough around the edges with the way they talk and most are not Christians anymore 30 years later. I know no one is perfect and I am not one to judge but I like to think that most of these bands were praying before these shows knowing that they were given a stage/pulpit with such an influentially important life changingly powerful message. I guess I was silly for ever thinking that was what these bands were like. Not sure if they're still Christian but I would gather that they are at the very least spiritual in some form. There's just so many Christian bands from back then that deconstructed and/or are devout atheists now and so it really makes you think.
That being said, we're still all the better for having Saviour Machine in this world. What they accomplished was so different from everything else. They were very ground breaking in the planting of the eschatological seed that I needed to see that there is hope in Christ beyond the genius level apocalyptic pictures they theatrically painted so brilliantly.

Wow, so many memories. It was fascinating to see a band create something new and different while still admitting their influences. And to be unafraid to challenge themselves and the audience over and over - thats the big lesson (besides just good songs.)

I also found out about Saviour Machine via Heaven's Metal. Very grateful to them for that as Saviour Machine has been so important to me through the years! (HM also introduced me to Type O Negative in their "What So and So Sez" feature ... grateful for that too! I got to listen to "Christians and Lunatics" and "Christian Woman" before heading to chapel at a Christian college back in the mid 90s!)

I'm grateful for Heaven's Metal magazine adverts. Found lots of great bands that way, and Saviour Machine caught my attention immediately. The name, the mysterious facade. I was one of those kids who thought "you can be whatever you want, look however you want, listen to whatever you want.. as long as your heart is in the right place." That's never changed. SM proved that. I hope we get an SM III one day.

I have been listening to Legend II since it came out. To this day that record makes me teary eyed.
It is the greatest musical recording ever made in my opinion. Eric isnt a singer, he is a composer. Legend II is a symphony. Ive always believed this is what music will sound like in Heaven.
How the world doesn't know about this band is beyond my comprehension.
Eric is beyond brilliant, he is celestial, cosmic, he is a vessel of the sounds of Heaven.

I really enjoyed listening to and watching this. I discovered SM thru a Heaven's Metal ad in 93 and immediately bought the album. It is so very unique and timeless. Like what Eric says about Wicked Window - such a creepy and powerful song... The whole album is great - Not a weak track on it.

I had one shot to see them live in. Connecticut. I think. Was in the mid 90s. But missed it . But maybe I am dreaming

I am amazed at the fact SM refused to give up after the frontline issues. I remember after buying the SM album on frintline, a few months later i heard they were getting hate for the "dragon slides between her thighs" lyric. 😂. But yeah. The deep theology behind that is amazing. Eric Clayton is one of the best lyric writers ever. My favorite line ever is "We have met the enemy...and he is us". SM tackled issues that were not talked about back then and ever much today. And the whole Legend Series is truly "the soundtrack to the end of the world" . And everything had Scripture reffences to it. Still one of my favorite bands ever.
I am bummed about the whole nonsense they had with nyclear blast and the final album also...
I just hope they do a remaster series..especially with the Legend 3:2 album. With AI tech and Dolby Atmos technology it could be possible and amazing to hear. Be blessed.
