      This safe is horrible. The airbag deflates and my safe slips forward and hits the gas pedal. With no airbag replacement available.

    Just received mine today, but not too impressed. The cable is just screwed into the outside of the safe. So all a person would need is a Phillips head screwdriver. Please tell me I’m wrong. Why wouldn’t they make the cable like every other gun safe?
    Also, mine keeps blinking red when fully closed and no interference. You happen to come across this? Appreciate any help you can give.

    Good job Zack. I like the idea and of an in car safe but I wonder that it would just generate interest just by being so visible and especially with that green light being on although I would guess you could tape over the light so it's not so apparent.

    • @ZackCarlson
      @ZackCarlson  5 лет назад +5

      Thanks. The lights don't stay on. My car windows are tinted and I've noticed just walking by the car you don't really see it. If you were really concerned with it you could throw a jacket or sweatshirt over it when not in your car.

    Isn't that it's in the open incentive to have someone break into your car, even if it's not there? I'm seeking options for my vehicle as my workplace doesn't allow us to carry inside the facility, and - I know that I'd like whatever I've got planned to be out of plain site. Thanks for the review and telling us more!

      Not to me, my windows are tinted so you'd have to really be looking to see it.

    Question: when the safe is open, are any of the indicator lights on? i'm thinking that if the safe is empty i would be inclined to simply leave it open to (hopefully) dissuade anyone from breaking in, but I wouldn't want to run the batteries down, either.

    • @ZackCarlson
      @ZackCarlson  5 лет назад

      I’ll have to check a full size pistol. I’ve only tested my g43 in it. It fits fine as the pistol alone but when I try to put it in the holster and then put them together in it the clip makes it too wide to close right.

    So when you get pulled over you can't open your glove box to provide your registration and insurance cards, not to mention if you reach towards your gun safe you may be shot when the RFID "accidentally" opens it. Also you can't get your gun out if your wife is in the front seat. Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't your glove box lock?

    • @ZackCarlson
      @ZackCarlson  5 лет назад

      The glove box opens most of the way. The rfid is in my phone so it’s not going to open up when opening the glove box. I only use it when I get my kid from daycare, I haven’t tried with my wife in the seat.

    • @bobhorsewood5689
      @bobhorsewood5689 5 лет назад +2

      I don't know about any other states. But in commiefornia my understanding is that the glove box even if locked does not count as a locked container for legal transportation of a firearm.

    I don't see how placing the fob on the back of your phone is the optimal way of opening it. You would need to have your phone handy, so you can't open it if the phone is stuck in your pocket or you dropped it somewhere, and you can't quickly grab your gun with one hand. To me the rfid bracelet seems optimal because it's always there, you don't need to hold it with your hand, so your hand is always free to grab the gun, and you can't drop or misplace it. The only complaint I have from watching your video is that you need to press a button to turn it on before using the RFID. This seems like an unnecessary and potentially deadly time waster, I should be able to get the ID close and have it immediately open. I also think it's a bit expensive, it should be about half it's price. But thank you for doing the review so I can be a bit more informed before I decide on whether to buy it or not.

    Passenger cant move their seat, and inviting to thugs. Plus a stupid "pump" This is a terrible design

    • @ZackCarlson
      @ZackCarlson  5 лет назад +5

      Passenger can move their seat, at least leather which I tested just slid by the air bladder. Not inviting to thugs when your windows are tinted. Stupid pump is better than drilling holes into your car. So while it may not fit your situation, it does work as intended.

    • @inertia1113
      @inertia1113 4 года назад +1

      But seriously, how many times does a passenger need to move their seat while driving? The most people move the seat is usually just the back-rest, which isn't even connected to the safe.
      PS. the pump feature is optional, and only if you don't want to drill holes into your car, which I think is brilliant because I don't want to de-value my car and there aren't really any other safe makers that offer a similar non-drill feature from what I can see.
