Thanks so much for doing a full tutorial on this! When I saw the stillshot, I was like there's no way I can do this. After watching the video, I think I can do it!
Yay this is so gorgeous in its simplicity! 😍👌🏼 Would love a video on a lit candle in watercolor too - I think it can be hard to translate gouache to watercolor and vice versa sometimes 🤗
Can you share a link for the journal you used in this project? I am so glad you are the owners of LMA now, and that you get to choose to do projects that you are passionate about. Watching the two of you brings me great joy; I love how well you complement each other. Thank you for another sweet tutorial!!!
Michael...Yes to the multiple wick candle version!!! Fun thinking about those intertwined smoke trails!
This is so cool!!! I love the way you lifted out the black to create the smoke. Just incredible. And so satisfying!!!
Sarah- stunningly beautiful! The candle and you! Loved painting this!
You always make it look so easy and it’s so fun to watch and learn with you

OK I just got a wild hair...or is it hare? Hear me out. A little wax resistance for just one or two wax trails. Could add a different texture!
That is a GENIUS idea! Totally try it and let us know how it turns out!!
