- Hey friends! Follow along as my aunties and I go junkin around Hoover, AL. We start off visiting our booth friends at Vintage Marker Days and then visit local antique shops, including Shades Mountain Mercantile and On a Shoestring. I hope you all enjoy our video! Oh my goodness you ladies scored such great finds! I live in Tacoma Washington and sure wish there were some junkin stores around here. We have alot of thrift stores, but that's about it. God bless and thanks for sharing!

I love how much fun you and Ms. Penny have together ❤ I had a Ms. Penny (well, my aunt was named aunt Barb) she loved to thrift and shop! Always had so much fun with her. She died just before Christmas, just shy of 91 year’s old. Love everything you all purchased.. loved Penny’s swan..❤️ (looked like a planter) loved your picture of the little boy with the hat but my favorite was your island!!! Can’t wait to see it styled.
The little boy picture reminds me of Elvis Presley’s boy photo. Very cute!

So many beautiful things in Birmingham. Love the piece you purchased for the island. I have been collecting pictures of children for years and have three gallery walls of them going down my hallway. I have never seen the picture of the boy, love it! I also have the planter 😁

Beautiful swan I loved the bean pot at one of the shop where aunt Penny picked up the pitcher with the pheasant feathers like the transfer ware. Oh my the picnic basket was great Aunt Penny.

It’s nice to see they have more actual vintage… I stopped going to vintage market days because they didn’t really have vintage vendors and the ones they did were really high priced.

I love the island table. I would paint the legs a different color and sand the top to bare wood. Then seal it. That will really make the crate stand out.
I wanted a island in my very small kitchen and I couldn't stand that thing in the middle it kept blocking me and I had to run around it so I got rid of it. I hope you enjoy yours, it's so cute!

I have that sweet piano lesson picture in a much larger size in color and I love to just look at it and always wondered why the girl looked so sad/bored? I realized recently she is looking at the flower petal that has fallen to the floor. 🙂 Just a sweet picture! Man I wish we had vintage fairs here in northern Michigan. The closest ones to me are about 2-3 hours south

My grandmother had that picture of the boy wearing a hat! It hung going up to her staircase. She said she loved it because it looked like my brother Tommy. And so the picture was called tommy.
