I know the ending is difficult, but holy hell can anyone really blame Frisk? The only lifeline left had been pretty much thrown up into the air. They didn't know if they could reload again. They were out of healing items. They were at 1HP. Undyne was not giving up. And, sadly, due to them being fearful and hating Undyne for the hell she put them through, Frisk struck a fatal blow.
It's just sad that it affected MTT too, because he truly didn't do much wrong. Frisk acted as any kid in that situation would. It's kind of a beautiful ending in that sense. It is real and reflects the looming threat of Frisk's determination dwindling. I think this was a bold move to have as an ending, especially when key characters like Papyrus witnessed it.
It's just tragic, and I don't know how it will be resolved.

It’s been confirmed that genocide won’t be canon, but dorked said it’s a “non-canon what if” which could indicate in 1 or 2 short chapters on it
Also frisk killed asgore then reset so technically this isn’t the first fight choice
Ladies and Gentlemen, here is what is probably one of the most emotional, heart racing, and kickass fights in Undertale History, everything about this fight screams epic at your face and kicks the awesomeness into your stomach. I love the design of the Determinator, all the super unique and cool attacks and ideas, I absolutely Love the music, and I love Love LOVE how Undyne basically isn't just a truly evil jerk and is person who only cares about her other monsters and Papyrus, which makes the ending far more emotional. This is amazing and you guys at Team Inverted Fate should all be super proud of this masterpiece. Last but not least, thank you guys for working day and night on this for us. You could've just made this a comic, But No, you guys decided to make this animated. So thank you for giving us this Masterpiece, you guys are the best.

17:30 I didn’t think much of it before, but Undyne’s tone here briefly calms down. She does go back to her usual bravado after Frisk revives again, but for a brief moment, she sounds almost like she feels almost a sense of _pity_ seeing this kid experience death over and over again. Perhaps even the tiniest bit of _remorse_ for being the one who’s forcing them to die over and over again. It’s Like even she thinks this is a horrible way to go, and sees telling them to die as merciful in comparison to getting Kars’d
Maybe I’m just reaching, but I’ve always gotten the feeling it’s less that she refuses to give up and more that with all of the Determination she injected, she is no longer ABLE to stop, and this is a brief moment of clarity for her
Even the music has a "give up and rest" tone instead of "give up, I have won" or something like that.
It uses notes from the beginning of “Your Best Nightmare” and the sirens from it in the first cutscene, even in the beginning of the battle’s theme

Can we seriously just take a moment to appreciate all of the time and effort that went into this animation? The fight was extremely well choreographed and the dialogue was well thought out. And that ending had me nearly in tears! Seriously, great job on this animation and the comic as well!

To me, this au is just a good as the original game!
It's even better, in my opinion!
UNDERTALE and Inverted Fate are very different to me for a big reason (alongside the other major differences from UNDERTALE). Frisk is their own person with their own life which makes for an excellent addition for the AU.
Both are great stories, I just like the latter better in my opinion.

It's way better. The characters in Undertale felt so bland, even though Toby had come us with some pretty decent concepts. Aside from characters like Flowey (best character, by far), and MAYBE Alphys and Asgore, everyone else felt like wasted potential. You *really* had to go out of your way to explore Papyrus and Undyne's personality (through phone calls, endings, etc), and some characters like Mettaton barely even had any! Inverted Fate, on the other hand, truly makes every character feel like a real person. Somehow, IF Papyrus is MORE Papyrus than even the original!
Ultimately, I think UT characters needed more screentime, and some things about their arcs had to be resolved as well. I think Toby realized this, and improved the way he develops characters. Just look at Deltarune, and how much personality Susie has, for example. And that's only the beginning...

This. Was. AMAZING. Apart from Undyne and Mettaton becoming an amalgamate. I hope in the future Frisk will restore the save and fix it.
I doubt they will be able to. The amalgamate includes undyne, which has so much determination she could have overpowered frisk by melting. And the last save was in the final section mech's fight, so it's not like going back will fix much
I think they’ll stay an amalgamate until Flowey initiates his plan whenever Frisk gets to Toriel. He’ll likely absorb the SOULs or something similar. That amount of DT should be enough to override Frisk’s SAVE FILE.
@@Mqstodon Maybe Papyrus and Mettaton could have helped her if Frisk wouldn not have attacked. Because Undyne only started melting when Frisk hit her.
@@AlphOnMons Well, Frisk was at 1 HP, with no healing items. If they spared Undyne, Undyne would have killed them before Papyrus and Mettaton arrived.
Is there normally save points before the elevator in that place in UNDERTALE, though? 'cos there seemed to be a LACK of any save points in that trip to the elevator... which, if there normally is save points somewhere around there, could mean... yeah.
Besides that, even if Undyne becoming determined doesn't overthrow Frisk's determination, the depression spike from having just seen the result of attacking Undyne could be the thing that *makes them lose heart.*
As for if Frisk can still and does load, Frisk CAN change the outcome a lot, as Frisk has been shown to make it apparent that to others they know what's gonna happen, even if they sometimes make the monsters realise that in rather cryptic ways... but Undyne would likely also piece together what happened since she senses loads, which could be both a good thing but also a very bad thing.
I'm pretty glad to have been part of IF for... a very long while now.
Kind of wish I could do more nowadays, but eh, the new crew is doing a really good job at supporting the AU, and it's clear when we see the work put into this entire animation.
Not just the voice crew, but also the animation crew-- Sparks did a monstruous job and Philip really picked up the slack.
Special mentions to Sparks who animated in the same way I did when I made the animations for IF back in the day, with Photoshop. Nothing but photoshop.
I know how hard it is to do something like *rotating objects* in it, so what Sparks has accomplished for this animation is nothing short of incredible.
Basically, this shit's good man and I'm glad I was a part of it.
This is one of the best (and by far the saddest) Undertale animations I’ve ever seen. This was so well made, and it has so many unique personalities. Well done!

The best part about this is how the ending clearly encapsulates how Frisk makes mistakes, and sometimes the endings aren't so good. I'd never expect an amalgamation though. The look on Undyne's face when she realized what was about to happen, too...phew...Nice job, and what a heartbreaking finale.

frisk literally has almost like a well, mental breakdown. the music at the end really makes it unsettling, to see papyrus like that, and mettaton and undyne amalgamated. but, undyne still says that she will keep her promise.. even after she is amalgamated. it's really sad to see at that point.

Man I love the tension in this battle. The machine Undyne is in is literally packed to the brim with Determination and the ending is such a twist. It seems as though Frisk fought out of impulse, due to how they didn’t have any healing items left and that Undyne was getting closer and closer to being able to save. I think that Frisk could’ve spared Undyne if they were able to survive Undyne’s assault for just a little longer for Mettaton and Papyrus to do something about it, but under the circumstances of the fight Frisk was afraid of dying permanently. With Undyne’s dangerous levels of Determination and her attack onslaught, out of impulse attacked Undyne.
That's the gist of it! Frisk fought because they were backed into a corner and didn't wanna die for real.
Dorked: I don’t blame them, they didn’t have much of a choice. They just got a bad roll, but maybe there’s still something they can do. I mean this kinda feels like the Asgore fight (In Undertale not IF) in a way, you’re forced to fight, and like with Undertale you can’t spare Asgore on the first try, you have to load, and this is the neutral run, so maybe there’s something Frisk can do? We’ll just have to see how this story develops.

So what if this is the opposite of an ideal ending! This is is a masterpiece. Months of hard work are showing. The voice acting was amazing. The animation amazing. The art amazing. It was perfectly executed and I wouldn’t have it any other way

I'm watching this at 5AM. This is beautiful.
Once again, this story has blown me away with the attention to detail. The animation is wonderful. I've gotten no sleep at all, so I lack the proper words to describe this masterpiece, but this animation, along with the Inverted Fate comic, is probably the best thing to come out of the Undertale fandom.
Also, that ending was a punch to the gut. I did not expect that at all. My heart's still pounding...
Couldn't make the premiere as I had a race, but holy crap the wait was worth it! Everything in this video created the perfect climax. A huge battle to the end in a giant mecha in the CORE, only for alarms go off for the ending at rock bottom. Amazing dialogue as Frisk realizes who Cap actually is, and Undyne refuses to give up, all leading to Frisk making one, fatal mistake at the end... which cost the life of a friend...
The animation was stunning, the voice acting amazing, especially with Undyne's crazed shouting. From the bottom of my soul, thank you Dorked, and thank you Fireglobe productions.
Now I'm excited to see how this plays out...
this was my introduction to Inverted Fate, and I LOVED IT! In my opinion, this is the GREATEST Undertale battle I have ever seen. PERIOD.
Fireglobe Productions obviously poured their hearts and SOULS into this whole AU, and I love it. I just hope there's more to come, after reading the WHOLE comic, I REALLY want more!

Bro. This is just sad. The ending, the conflict, the suspense... this is what makes inverted fate one of my favorite AUs.

Man, I can't believe Undyne broke Frisk that hard. They were backed up into a corner, no items, mercy was useless, 1 HP left, and no Papyrus or Mettaton.
It sucks that was the turn pappy and mtt came at the same time frisk attacked undyne, needing to watch the whole thing. Of course, frisk nor undyne would know that.
Also it’s noted that frisk didn’t want to fight (they kept switching from fight and mercy), but did in pure self-defence and spite

bruh this is the best undertale battle animation ever, most of them have the problem of the movements looking mechanical, but these movements look natural

And from there, either Frisk gets their act together, or they snap and just walk straight up to Toriel waiting for the end

You know what the saddest and most stupidest part about this?
If frisk didn’t attack undyne for ONE more turn papyrus and mettaton would have intervened and saved both of you.

For some reason youtube have been recommending me undertale stuff, and a few days ago i got this. So i started reading and oh my god, i never though that a fanfic (not sure if you could call it that) can be this good, it actually adds to the story of the original undertale and it isnt "sans super duper insane baddass dude", its actually interesting and adds a twist to the characters, its just fucking awesome.
