Tulsa River Park Trails - Northern Flicker Ground Feeding w/Wingspread (6-19-24)

I shot this on the Newblock trail close to Charles Page Blvd. I was there to get more video of the Western Kingbirds and see if I could find other birds. I watched Mississippi Kites and just as I was leaving, I noticed a pretty bird down in the storm water channel. I've been really trying to find this bird and was thrilled to find they are in this location. I read that the spreading of the wings is about defending nesting territory. Hopefully, I can find a nest.
