Yeah, but the problem is with the unnecessarily hyper-aggressive way Timmy dealt with the issue. Timmy needs to take it down a notch. As the saying goes, "You catch more flies with honey than with vinegar."
@Latoya Harvey this show had such brilliant casting. The day players were brilliant from Timmy to the lady at the DMV who gives Kramer the Assman plates to the snooty host from The Smelly Car to the French lady at the store with the Elaine Mannequin all gold!
A true germaphobe will not be grabbing the hand _after_ the chip has been dipped twice. Rather, he will prevent the second dip from happening. Timmy should have blocked George from double-dipping. In fact, Timmy should have prevented George from doing the first dip because George he touched a part that he put into the dip. I know a former coworker who would go up to a bowl of chocolate-covered blueberries, and run his fingers through the whole pile a couple of times (like he was mixing up the pieces) before picking up several pieces to eat. From that point on, I kept my desk treats sealed in their original containers and only poured out a few pieces on a napkin. That way, if he handled the pile, I'd tell him to take it all, or throw away the ones he didn't want to eat. Sadly, he never got the hint. :-(
Yes, indeed. In some states, double dipping is actually a capital offense which carries the death penalty. So think twice before you double dip that chip at the next company Christmas party.
Well, attempting to break the chip in half sometimes causes the chip to shatter into many small pieces, so when you put a small piece into the dip, your finger may end up touching the dip. That's an accidental way of directly tainting the dip. Also, some folks put their fingers all over their chips before dipping one of them in. That means their fingers had touched parts of the chip that went into the dip. Most people's fingers aren't very clean. The safer way to deal with dip is to have people use a dedicated spoon to scoop up dip to put onto their plate of chips.
Mak Manto: I recall seeing an article which summarized a study that tested the dishes of seeds for guests to munch on as they leave an Indian restaurant. The result: they found high amounts of uric acid. That is, many folks hadn't wash their hands after pissing, and they had transferred some drops onto those plates of seeds. Another article described a study that found fecal matter in the beards of men. Soooo, ... seeing how people can be so unclean, imagine getting things from their hands and mouth transferred into the dip that you eat. Delish!

Kieran Mulroney as Timmy, the character who rebukes George Costanza for double dipping a tortilla chip at a funeral reception is the brother of actor Dermot Mulroney.......
