On 4 September 2022, a chartered Cessna 551 business jet registered in Austria was scheduled to fly from Jerez, Spain to Cologne, Germany.
The Austrian-registered aircraft had departed from Jerez in Spain at 2.56pm local time.
The aircraft, a Cessna 551 Citation II is 42 years old, having first flown in October 1979.
The light corporate jet was owned by German businessman Karl-Peter Griesemann.
According to the Flight Management System, the autopilot brought the aircraft up to 36,000 feet and continued the journey via Paris, Luxembourg, and on to Euskirchen. In Euskirchen, the pilot apparently had planned to take over for final approach into Cologne.
the pilot reported a cabin pressure problem shortly before ATC contact was lost.
The Cessna 551 was flying at approximately 11,000 meters at the time.
Jets from NATO allies and partners were scrambled to follow the private Cessna plane.
They included German planes from Neuburg and Laage in Germany, and German and Spanish planes, part of NATO Baltic Air Policing Estonia.
France, Denmark and Sweden also scrambled jets under national command.
From overhead Cologne, the aircraft continued to fly as a “ghost flight” on a direct track which took it across Germany and out into the Baltic Sea.
The jet pilots were unable to contact the plane and could not see anyone in the cockpit.
Reportedly, four people from Germany were on board: Karl-Peter Griesemann (who has been confirmed to have been the pilot of the aircraft), his wife Juliane, their daughter Lisa (who also carried a pilot license), and her boyfriend Paul.
The aircraft had fuel to fly over 4 hours.
Fuel was eventually exhausted when the aircraft was over the Baltic Sea, approximately 37 kilometres off Ventspils, Latvia.
The Cessna then started descending and turning to the right. It is probable that the right engine failed first.
Sometime later, the left engine also failed. The plane continued to fly straight forward and started to lose speed and altitude rapidly.
The plane began to descend in a spiral into the Baltic Sea.
At that moment, more than 300,000 people were tracking the aircraft using online flight tracking services such as Flightradar24.
The Danish jet pilots also witnessed the plane going into a downward spiral and crashing 37 kilometers off the shoreline of Latvia, far beyond the outer edge of the Latvian territorial sea.
    No one survived this crash.
The investigation of the accident has been taken over by the German Federal Bureau of Aircraft Accident Investigation.
At this time, it is proposed that the drop in pressure likely caused the pilot and passengers to lose consciousness.

What do you think happened on that plane? It is scary to imagine that hypoxia can so imperceptibly and so quickly put a person to sleep that he will not have time to descend the plane to a safe height in a couple of minutes...😥

If the crew got a pressurized cabin warning light why at the time communications within ATC the Pilot should have declared a emergency decent

I predict that the aircraft was taken over remotely and steered into the Baltic Sea. Still leaves a question as to where are the fragments of the plane and where are the bodies? This points to murder of this family.

There's no doubt in my mind that this WAS a fatal depressurization due to what I heard and how it resembled Payne Stewart's plane crash. As for what caused it, I still have no idea yet.

That's a CJ4 not a 551 ll - a very different beast, if this was a more mainstream documentary video there would be a lot of negative comments about showing the wrong aircraft but these flight sim reenactment videos seem to use whatever type they feel like - Carenado does a great Citation 550 which is almost identical to the incident aircraft, also its not etiquette to actually show the impact in a reenactment or actual footage

Very goo video and a big mistery.... the problem just begun in Spain... why did the plane fly till Latvia? Why didn´t pilot descent?
At 13:42 UTC, the pilot radioed the controller: "Madrid radar for [callsign]?" The controller replied: "[callsign] go".
The pilot then stated: "There is a problem with the air condition, request direct descending." The controller replied: "Direct where please?" Six seconds later, the pilot said: "Problems with air condition eh pressurization, we request rapido descending." Clear background noise can be heard during this radio communication of the pilot. The controller answered with: "Confirm [callsign] requesting descent?" He did not receive any answer from the pilot.
Hypoxia doesn't go as fast as cyanide... the pilot had time to put on his mask and descend quickly... Why didn't he respond to the controller? Something is strange in this flight.....

During takeoff plane is losing plus picture of David add the brain feed the plane start the bank angle meaning the Pirates dilute to pass out and 10 info the copilot is not to drive control control and the pilot is slumped over to the left meaning the plane crash crash in there in the ocean the port don’t take out the plane losing its pressure

Cessna should stick to primitive piston powerplants and leave the biz jet market to its rivals.

    • @flymachine
      @flymachine 5 месяцев назад

That's ludicrous, Cessna is one of the leading manufacturers of executive aircraft and has always been. Of the nearly 20 bizjet models they have produced several have been market leaders - they are well regarded and respected in the industry for their business aircraft but if you know very little about aviation and think you know a lot you might be only familiar with the Cessna single engine types and conclude that this is their forte when in fact Cessna is a far more prolific business aircraft manufacturer than they are a light single engine aircraft producer - in fact they currently only have two light singles in their line up and around 10 executive class aircraft of which they produce top of the range jets including long range jets that dominate their markets.
