If a patient has an ectopic pregnancy, do Dr.s have to handle the embryo differently? What effect does this have on early Physician performed abortions when they're otherwise legal? What should labs with artificially created embryos do with them? What about genetically abnormal embryos? Do embryos qualify for parent's child tax credits? Can they get Social Security cards? What liability is there for stored embryos that "expire" from being stored for so long that their viability fails? Does this change their date of "birth"? Prior to the Alabama court ruling, Alabama already had a law recognizing embryos as, human life. The court ruling presents all sorts of legal and moral issues for the IVF clinics that, routinely, screen and discard unwanted embryos. The practice is lowering the value of viable human life to the level of a disposable "commodity."
If an embryo is legally a child, then shouldn't a pregnant woman be held accountable in the event of a miscarriage? Or at the very least be investigated by authorities to determine if the mother or a doctor was not at fault right?????

Re Embryos legally children:
How will this effect the insurance rates & thus customer costs for storing embryos?
How does it effect the "morning after" pill(s)?
What is the law re treatment of a "corpse" now, since some late periods are spontaneous abortions?
What about child-abuse laws, since putting children in a freezer for even a relatively short time is considered abusive(?).
If a patient has an ectopic pregnancy, do Dr.s have to handle the embryo differently?
What effect does this have on early Physician performed abortions when they're otherwise legal?
What should labs with artificially created embryos do with them?
What about genetically abnormal embryos?
Do embryos qualify for parent's child tax credits? Can they get Social Security cards?
What liability is there for stored embryos that "expire" from being stored for so long that their viability fails?
Does this change their date of "birth"?
What do folks do with "extra"/ unused frozen embryos? There are already people with more stored eggs than they will likely have implanted, and they're condemned to pay for perpetual storage. Can unmarried fathers be ordered to contribute via "child support"?
Do taxpayers want to get stuck with storage costs when storage businesses declare bankruptcy?
Most States require reporting parents who "abuse" their children, so can parents be allowed to take their frozen embryos to a State that still performs IVF if that State may damage or destroy an embryo?
The precedent set by considering embryos to be human beings are far reaching!
Embryos are unemployed and therefore are low-income. Can they qualify for the federal WIC program? All good, legitimate questions. The G🚫P and the 118th Congress never thinks about the repercussions of their archaic rhetoric.

Congressmen are also not lawyers, sociologists, pastors, etc. But they are elected to make decisions about those things. Does the same standard apply when talking about "gender affirming care"?

Thank you, Ms. Crockett, for voicing the truth of Christian values. I also am the daughter of preachers and I’m so befuddled by what is happening in the church. At 63, I’ve even stopped attending worship services. These people are not Christ-like or conservative.

Prior to the Alabama court ruling, Alabama already had a law recognizing embryos as, human life. The court ruling presents all sorts of legal and moral issues for the IVF clinics that, routinely, screen and discard unwanted embryos. The practice is lowering the value of viable human life to the level of a disposable "commodity."

If an embryo is legally a child, then shouldn't a pregnant woman be held accountable in the event of a miscarriage? Or at the very least be investigated by authorities to determine if the mother or a doctor was not at fault right?????
