I tend to agree. The tell was when my wife and I voted in the Republican primary. Nikki Haley was still on the ballot even though she had formally withdrawn from the the race a couple of weeks earlier. I decided to vote for her anyway. When I told my wife ,she said "so did I." I found out later that 20% of the Republican voters voted for Halley in the primary despite having withdrawn. That is a lot. If half of those vote for Harris it's probably over for Trump in PA. He lost the last general election in PA the last time, and I don't see much reason to think things have changed.

My American friends - we got the immigration row exhaustingly during. our election 🇬🇧 : I care about grocery prices, why housing prices out of control, stability as a country , education and our economy. The immigrants left (our Trump won) and it’s chaos, prices through roof due to tariffs etc etc and awfully our truck drivers were immigrants and Brits don’t want to do it. We had rotting fruit etc. Our economy is in the toilet. Extremes of left or right just don’t work. A warning from our experience - we had PM Boris Johnson who was very similar politically to Trump. Boris just shamed us on world stage as he borrowed like a kid at candy store. I am more left, but I now vote centre as I want everyone to feel represented

Our new government is running round the world trying to rebuild our trade etc. We had legal migration - now we have an out of control situation as our allies played a big part in stopping boats being crossing into uk. Personally, I used to work at 6 am in the morning as cleaners leaving - none of those cleaners were European. We are lazy with comfortable lives in offices etc. These hard working people were scrubbing our toilets. They were working on the farms picking fruit, driving Lorries hundreds of miles for groceries (our food is frequently now out of date. I'm an independent, I mailed my ballot on 10/4/2024 (Harris), and my wife who usually doesn't vote will be turning in her ballot this election as well. This is the most consequential election of our life time. I personally know at least 1 Republican colleague who will NOT be voting for Trump.

As a PA citizen, the primary reason I believe people were switching their party registration is because our primaries are closed. Unless there is a ballot question that is independent of parties, you have to be Democrat to vote for Democrat candidates, Republican to vote for Republican. If another party was large enough to have competition, Libertarian for example, you'd have to be registered Libertarian to vote for Libertarian candidates. I'm registered, but honestly I'd rather not be.

THIS is how it happens. I have watched dozen of Holocaust documentaries over the years, and felt those were the worst horror shows i have ever seen. I could not believe a country could be so supportive of Hitler. But they found him out to late. I have always held them responsible for so many deaths. Most think it cannot happen in America, because we have to many courts and judges and systems in place. A Constitution. I watch daily at the news each one of those falling apart and taking sides. Look at what happened to SCOTUS. Those secret recordings of Alito and his big mouth wife who thought what he did for a living was disgusting. I'm an independent, I mailed my ballot on 10/4/2024 (Harris), and my wife who usually doesn't vote will be turning in her ballot this election as well. This is the most consequential election of our life time. I personally know at least 1 Republican colleague who will NOT be voting for Trump.

As a PA citizen, the primary reason I believe people were switching their party registration is because our primaries are closed. Unless there is a ballot question that is independent of parties, you have to be Democrat to vote for Democrat candidates, Republican to vote for Republican. If another party was large enough to have competition, Libertarian for example, you'd have to be registered Libertarian to vote for Libertarian candidates. I'm registered, but honestly I'd rather not be.
