I owned a 1982 110 and 1985 250 two stroke one. The 250 would do 85 mph stock. And ride wheelies as far as i was willing to keep the tire in the air

Hi my name is Neil (I’m on my moms Account), I am 12 years old as of today. I have been a subscriber for one and a half years now and am proud to say that you guys have changed my life, you have encouraged me not to sit inside all day but to find something to do and do it. So I have started working on a old lawnmower my dad had basically sitting in the woods for 2 years hoping to get it running and FAST in time for our 2021 4th of July parade. I wired the whole thing to a push button and a kill switch, bought battery, and cut the fuel solenoid. And it started right up!....but it smoked like CRAZY😕. So I bought a new head gasket and feeler gauge for the rocker arms and the magneto/spark coil. Wish me luck😁

I live one state west of kevin, Nebraska, and grew up riding three wheelers and still love them today. They were a dime a dozen a few years back now they cost about what they were new in the 80's. I was quite the trick rider back in the day, used to make my dad mad and scare the heck out of my mom but man was it fun.

You brought me back to my glory days ! heheh ! Before I bought my CB1100F, and my 500cc Yamaha 4 stroke dirt bike, I bought a brand new 79 Honda 110cc three wheeler. Auto clutch with a duel range rear end ! Low range you could go anywhere. High range I'd keep up with traffic !. lol. Very fun machine. A younger friend of mine bought a 79 Honda 70cc three wheeler. He revved that thing to 10 grand and it never died ! He went everywhere with that thing. I remember him flooring it in 1st...and without letting up on the throttle he'd slam through the gears !...It never broke ! I don't know how it didn't destroy the trans...We had a blast on those 3 wheelers. Thanks for the memories ..again ! lol. peace

I have an 82', swapped out the points for an overseas stator/CDI kit and its been great. Check that out. By the way, my brother and I were raised on three wheelers, dad bought one brand new in 86' and we learned to ride on them before anything else and we drift them and people's jaws always drop. Never had a bad crash either, just treat them like machines and you'll be fine.

Yeah finally! You can buy so many parts for these in the US. I really want to recommission mine which I've had for 30 years and get it road legal in the UK.
Interestingly that's exactly how mine ran the last time I rode it. And was why it got parked in the barn where it's been since. As an 8 year old I overtook my dad in the car driving across a field, and he was doing 25mph at the time, when running right they are pretty decent. And yes, you can rev them and dump the clutch for wheelies 😉

4 bolts and the fender comes off. Two at the back, two down the sides.....then one bolt and the tank comes off. So much easier to work on then.
Pit bike bar risers bolt on, give you a little more knee room. You can also space out the foot pegs with washers and longer bolts to drop them down lower too.

There are like 5 different engines that come in these. Both 2 and 4 stroke. Mine had the rarer 4 stroke. Honda dealer told me when I was looking for parts that my bike didn't exist in that configuration. I said , well its in the back of my truck and seems pretty real to me. Long story short, ordered parts off ebay. Made a franken carb out of stock and cr80 carbs, almost doubled the speed of the little guy. They do not like water. Countless times got it wet and had to let electrical system dry out to start.

Adjust the tappet clearances. I'd put money on them being too tight, and the hotter it gets, the tighter they get, till the valves barely seat at all.
For a quick and dirty without feeler gauges (and because I can't remember the exact clearance), loosen them off while they're on the base circle of the cam. Then do them up until they just touch (and there's no play), then back them off a quarter turn before tightening the lock nut (making sure they don't move).
    Good luck!

Easy fix. Change spark plug, check compression, check timing and look for vaccum leak in the intake manifold. Sometimes you just need to tune the carb. These pitbike engines are very reliable and powerful. Little 70s make 5 to 6hp. My 70cc pitbike would easily top out at 40mph it was automatic

Add about a ¼ cup of berrymans b12 fuel system flush to about a gallon of fuel and use that in that thing. It will clean the carb thoroughly. Had to do that with a motorcycle I bought that had sat for 19 years and thats all I did to the carbs and that thing would get up and go after I did that. Use the choke ¼ to ½ on and just go at partial throttle. It works

Jeff Kopis might have been something else, my point was that the engine was repurposed after the frame got bent

In the 80s I had a Suzuki 50 three wheeler bought brand new off the Suzuki dealership floor in my hometown.....I was a little daredevil on that thing and then my mom and dad (the latter who could get the thing up on two wheels) saw the expose on three wheelers on 20/20 and that following Monday hung a for sale sign on it.....But not to fret I got me a a go cart with the proceeds of that three wheeler sale

My step brother had one of those when we were kids I think out of all the little yz 80s and 60s we had more fun on the ATC 70 brings back memories

ATC’s absolutely can be drifted, in fact that’s that’s the correct way to ride them. You point the front in the general direction you want to go but steer with the throttle. Get your butt off the seat, use your body as a counter balance with your leg across the seat and you’ll slide. I’ve drifted my ‘83 250r 60+ feet. Also ATC’s are kings of the dunes, they put Banshees to shame.

If i lived closer, I'd bring over my ATC 70, and the ATC250r and see what we could do. Looks like fun!

China carb jets are wrong, either rebuild the stock carb or put your original carbs jets in the new carb. The one coil wasn't even needed as it is only for lights, there was a kit back in the day to put 6volt lights on them . Also read up on setting the points with a test light, it sets the timing. I've found that point gap gets you close, but the 70s run better with the points set with a test light to the timing marks on the flywheel.

My buddy's family had one at a vacation property in Michigan in the early 90's. We were like 11 years old, he took us out, 5 minutes later we rolled over and wrecked. Good times.
