    Wow that is another neat feature! If you look at the KM range after charging it went up from 750km to 791km! Also to those asking how much fuel it used check the fuel gauge it hardly went down.

      Neat feature, if it's legal to idle for more than a few minutes in your country. It isn't legal here for more than 2 minutes unless it's well below freezing, then double that.

    Oh wow thanks for testing this out. I have the 2018 Outlander PHEV and it's about 25 to 30 mins when idle at our camp site. We were able to boondock no issues for 5 plus days at our kids motocross camp no problems (charge EV after 3 days of charging kids electric MX bikes, tent battery Go Sun 1100 watts and light cooking). Used very minimal amount of fuel so would be double that for the new PHEV. I used the Dewalt portable fan near the exhaust to blow the fumes away from trailer neighbors. Remember to turn on the car and then put the emergency brakes on, then turn off the car and press EV. The day time headlights won't come on so while in EV mode, no one knows your car is on I 1500 watt outlet mode.

      According to the guess-o-meter it went from 750 combined km with 4 km of ev range before and 791 combined (+41) with 45 km ev range (+41) after, but I cant see that being accurate because it would of had to of used 0 litres 🤔

      @mathieularocque1953 Год назад

      Not sure it is still relevant to you but the battery will only charge if you are not using the gas pedal in regen mode while or in charge mode then it would rev the engine a bit more to help charge the battery, not sure the highway is really suitable for that, except if you go downhill a lot with the regen it could help you more

    Please can you do a video on the power outlets in the OutlanderPHEV. Do they operate independently, or via a single inverter? Do they require the car to be turned on? Having these power outlet features is really great, yet I can't find much information about them on YT.

    I have outlander 2019, I plugged into the fastest charging port, once it charged 81/percent, in the dashboard it says (charge complete), why is that and why not 100 percent?

    • @gold3084
      @gold3084 Год назад +1

      Maybe two reasons. One; once it hits 80 0r 90% it slows down the charging and two; not always going to 100% makes your battery last longer. Also maybe keep some room in battery for energy generated during braking.

    How do you have a 750km range on only a full tank of gas and no battery power? I filled up my 2023 outlander phev with gas today and my battery was half charged and I only got 590km listed as the range.

    • @mr.mitsubishi

      I think the total range fluctuates a lot just based on initial readings. Your actual clocked total mileage is what counts.

    Thanks for the video!
    I have a question regarding the preconditioning of the vehicle and early morning battery usage. The manual shows that if I am plugged in and use the remote climate control option, the vehicle takes power from the charging outlet. But for the past couple of days I have been noticing that it is drawing power from the battery instead of the charger. Why is it doing that ?
    Also every morning after a full charge it shows an expected range of 54miles. But it drops down to 40-45 within 2-3 miles of driving. I have been pre conditioning the cabinet as per recommendation. Am I doing anything wrong? If yes what is the correct way?

    • @mr.mitsubishi
      @mr.mitsubishi  Год назад

      The way you describe it, you are doing everything right. It should draw the energy form the grid instead of battery. Keep monitoring and see sevrvice to check if it doesn’t feel right. Immediate range drop could be normal as the vehiyis still calculating driving habit etc. Actual EV range is more important than the reading itself.

    • @santhuw2002
      @santhuw2002 Год назад

      @@mr.mitsubishi thanks for the reply
      It seems like the car is not drawing power from the grid
      It's taking power from the battery. My dealership doesn't have any idea about this feature and I don't know how they are going to help me
      I called Mitsubishi customer care and they said they don't know about this feature at all. I feel like I am not getting any help

    • @mikeintampa250
      @mikeintampa250 Год назад

      It is my understanding and from what I have read that pre conditioning draws off the battery if using a level 1 charger but it draws from the-grid if using a level 2 charger.

  • @adamcoe
    @adamcoe Год назад

    That's super neat but it'd be pretty useful to know how much gas it used. Doesn't seem like a lot but it would be interesting to see the cost difference. Obviously the gas is going to be more, and I don't see myself using this feature all that much, but it would definitely be handy now and again, but depending on the price of gas and electricity at the time, it might be decent.
