    We purchased new commander max xt 4 weeks ago and we absolutely love it and our two boys ask when is our next ride, it handles amazing and where the engine is in the rear heat isn’t a problem and we have the bed linQ rack with accessories and wow all I can say. We have more accessories coming to make it our own, let’s go riding 😀

    What did u guys do Can Am!!??? As a Commander owner, sooo disappointed.
    I was in the trails today in the Laurentians. I pulled into the Oureau refuge and there were a couple of other guys there with some newer hotter machines and myself and another guy with our XT's. The other guys were picking apart our machines. "Its nice but, the tie rod ends are small." Or "'They dont handle that great". I let them go for a few more minutes and asked them what year their machines were. 2019 and 2020 was their responses. I told them, mine is a 2015. They stood back. Then I told them, this model came out in 2010 and has never changed. It still looks good. It still holds its own. It does what its made for, work and play. I also told them I plowed my driveway this morning with it and skid wood with it before riding the trails in comfort, this afternoon. P.S, my wife was sitting in the sun with her seat from the machine taken out (another cool option). What other machine does all this!?
    Here is why I am disappointed, if you are still reading.
    When you guys made the 2010 model, you were trail blazers. You shook up the industry. There was nothing in the ATV world that was near the same calibre of quality and performance. Nothing was as comfortable, or as refined. Polaris was shaken and they followed suit with the "General". But it was still not as nice. Looks, power, it had it all. Projector beam headlights. The box below the box to hide things and keep things dry, packed right. Digital and analog gauges. Push start! I could go on. These were things nobody had. It still looks good.
    But this new model? Did you admit defeat? Or has the Maverick taken the lime light? There is no innovation here. Things that I mentioned above that were great, are gone. Now, its a Polaris. Its meh. It doesent hold up to the Can Am name. You want ideas? Lets start with piggy back adjustable suspension on all trim levels. Especially in the back. Why? Cause I use my box all the time. I put stage 3 Elkas on my machine. Its great. Big load in the back, or the trailer? I crank up the stiffness, without a wrench. Going riding now, dial it back.
    Another thing, more power. Yes, we could always use more power, but not for the trails. For tracks. I want more top end for when I run my tracks on my machine to go in to the camp. 100hp, is not enough these days. Is it good for the trails? Sure, but more is better. I'm sorry to be so forward, but I am passionate about your products and what you offer. I love my machine. I take care of it and it takes care of is. It has been reliable, fun, helpful and a big part of our family. I was excited to see how you guys were going to shake things up again in the industry. But, this? Well its not what I expected. You guys can and have done better.

Honda is sending me a Pioneer 520 to demo and review which I know is a different category more or less but as they are both considered utility SxS’s it would be neat to do a entry level 50” buggy meant for work compared to a high performance buggy meant for work. LONG time CanAm owner - what makes this so different to an X XC in terms of heat reduction in the cab - because the only way i've seen to really reduce it is with a radiator relocater to the rear. If there's something else you should be offering it to existing X XC owners!
    Second - PLEASE develop an add-on to the Power-Flip for a CanAm Wiper. These things kick up a TON of dirt/mud onto a full windshield. I had to custom make my own.

    • @CANAMOFFROAD
      @CANAMOFFROAD  3 года назад +1

      Thanks for your comments! On the radiator compared to a Maverick Sport X XC, there's more access up front and in the rear, a more open powertrain for added ventilation. Compared with the older Commander, the engine is in the back now vs. centrally located.
      We do offer a wiper kit for the PowerFlip, FYI! Part #715006310: can-am-shop.brp.com/off-road/us/en/715006310-powerflip-windshield-wiper-washer-kit.html ;)

  • @kristopherwainwright349
    @kristopherwainwright349 3 года назад +3

    Seriously not impressed.
    As a Commander (now "OG Commander") and OG Maverick XDS owner, I had hoped for more power especially with the Max tipping the scales at 1930 pounds, which is significantly more than the OG Commander Max at 1572 pounds. Bed rails don't come standard, skid plates don't appear to come standard, the ECO switch doesn't come standard, the winch remote doesn't come standard, and these are just a few of the disappointments I've noted. One of my biggest issues is the $265 option for light bar mounts - it's just screws and sheet metal that got pressed into a U shape. I spent less for a complete 40 inch dual row 240 watt light bar, wiring kit, and mounts for my OG Commander than you want for these mounts alone.
    I really wanted more expeditionary use (multi-day camping/riding trips) and the number of roofs available to use in combination with the roof rack is painful; one or none.
    I don't see the innovation; I see a Maverick Sport with a factory produced wide suspension kit. I wanted to see both the OG Commander and OG Maverick DNA included in the new Commander - that mean look the front end provides, more power, a turbo option because let's face it, the OG Mav Turbo engine would put this over the top. Commander owners have been screaming "more power" since 2016, and clearly no one has listened.
    Unfortunately all it needs are fang lights and the front end looks like a Polaris RZR.

    Wow, how disappointing! First, originally the Commander MAX DPS was $14K brand new (Very affordable.) I cannot believe how much they bumped the prices up with the same garbage VISCO-LOK. They want $1600 to add Smart-Lok. Also, a Commander DPS for $16k and DPS MAX for $19.5K? You may as well buy a Maverick X3, and have a better chance of re-selling it someday. So basically, if you want a Can Am Commander MAX with Smart-Lok or XT MAX you will be spending $22K+ .. I think this Commander is still outdated with the technology that Polaris and Yamaha included. I wonder how many people out there really want to spend that much? Looks like I'll be more interested in Yamaha/Honda/Polaris. The Maverick looking Commander isn't for me. I wish I had bought the Commander Max before they priced gouged it by a $5500 more. That's what I get for waiting! At least I switched from Sea-Doo to Yamaha Wave runners, as I probably will do with the Can-Am, and at least those are assembled in the USA.

I am a huge BRP and Ski-Doo fan and really like our BRP dealer and want to buy a Can-Am from them, however, I am really disappointed in the new Commander. We stayed away from a Maverick Sport because the interior is just too small and tight. If the new Commander was based off the Maverick X3, which is what we were hoping and waiting for, I would have bought one for sure. Now, I doubt it. We demo rode a Polaris General XP and a Yamaha Wolverine RMAX2 1000, but we knew a new Commander was coming, so we waited. IMO, you should have done to the Maverick X3 what you did to the Maverick Sport - add a bigger box, forward hinge full doors and more upright seating and Can-Am would have dominated this category over the competition. I am looking forward to seeing and sitting in a new Commander, but I just cannot see purchasing one based on the offerings from the competition.

    If you want to lead above all the rest put a key in not a fob that is so annoying 😑

    They missed it on this one seams pretty lazy by can am to throw a bed on the sport. If it was there first sxs you would think they would have done allot more in making a work horse the rear suspension on the sport are not that great nothing compared to the x3 you would think they would start there. Make them same length as the rzr so they would blow away any competition in the lower classes. But still have the x3 super long daddy destroying all the top classes.

    Why is it being touted as class leading towing and box weight? Companies should have to have accountability for their claims. 600lbs bed and 2000lbs towing isn't class leading, its the same as the competition.

      @@masonjamieson4533 I think they're focused on utv's just enough for the market. That is after all what drives production.
      Personally, I wish Can-Am others would take back some of the sport quad market from yamaha.

    What a joke. Can-Am should actually hire people that actually know what they're doing. This is essentially a Maverick, and really only a hundred horsepower?
    This certainly won't compete against the new Yamaha Rmax 1000.

      Might be something like that, but yamaha lists wet weight and can am lists dry weight. Doubt it will be a huge weight difference, especially if you are looking for a 4 seater. Either way, I'll take Yamahas true locking diff and 100 times better reliability. Parts will also be much cheaper for the Yamaha. Only way can am gets my attention is having a hug power and suspension advantage, and in this case they will not.
