Welcome to the official Australian Open TV RUclips channel. The Australian Open 2024 main draw runs from 14-28 January in Melbourne. The tournament takes place for the 112th time and is the first Grand Slam of the year. Novak Djokovic is the men’s singles reigning champion and Aryna Sabalenka is the women’s singles reigning champion. Djokovic is such a generous person considering what Australian government did to him 2 years ago. He raised and donated so much fund for Australian communities before and since. We don’t deserve him.
Why can't people just stop at "such a generous person" and not bring up the Covid stuff. It wasn't just him, it was anyone who was unvaccinated. That was simply the rule, it wasn't personal. I'm sure he doesn't hold it against the government. He's just being a generous person regardless of what "was done to him"
@@natashagalitzine6437 If it’s the rule for everyone, why Australian government granted him a visa and then denied his entry? It’s totally a setup. They lured him into the country and then deported him for political reasons. Australian government used its nuclear option to deport him even though he had won the court case against the government for the unfair treatment.
@stephine5890 Australian Government liked him that's they went against the rules to do him a favor, but Novak bragged it in the public, so that was not a smart move. It was hard to defend him once that's done.

@@WestCoastOutdoors You are wrong. Australia has the policy in place for the medical exemptions. And the applications for medical exemptions are being assessed anonymously. Djokovic’s not the only player who got the exemption for Australian Open. There’re some other players and coaches got the exemption.

Every player should have right to play under her/his country's flag. One cannot choose the country of one's birth.

USA invaded Iraq in 2003 and yet their flag was still allowed at the World Cup 2006 in Germany and 2010 in South Africa despite the fact they were still in Iraq. Either ban ALL flags of countries who go to war, or don't ban any of them.
