i tried commenting before but i think it disappeared.
on god this man copied me down to my editing, music choices, accent, video structure, quite literally his from the fog series is a complete rip of mine.
I have no problems at all with anyone posting from the fog, i encourage it & support it. but you just gotta watch a few of both of our videos to see how disturbingly similar they are to understand why im like "yo. stop" also i tried to not make this a massive situation because the last thing i want is drama, but this guy is ridiculous wit it.

As someone who's also 17, regardless of age, Swayle should've taken responsibility rather than trying to cover up the whole thing because keeping it undisclosed only creates more tensity.
Swayle shouldn't use his age as an excuse because you're still the suspect whether you like it or not, him taking down one of Rod's videos shows that he isn't willing to give up the copycat facade and basically admits to "I can't handle criticism so I decide to do stupid choices to get away from it".
i was almost taken to court when I was 17 for a ridiculous reason so yeah age is not an excuse

I've watched Calvin's From The Fog almost since the beginning of the series and I can tell you that Swayle's actually starting to piss me off. He copied Calvin's everything, his modpacks, his slang, his RUclips icon, editing, thumbnails, SOUNDTRACKS!!! I remember being so happy hearing that Calvin uses The Last Of Us soundtrack in his videos because NO ONE has done this yet. Then i hear the exact same soundtrack in Swayle's videos and I remember thinking "Okay this is weird.." and I tried paying more attention to these details and what do you know... the videos are the exact copies of Calvin's video styles.
One more thing about this is that Calvin makes his own modpack by adding already existing modpacks to make his videos unique (not sure if he's actually coding his own mods), for example adding 2 different dwellers/monsters + maybe some texture packs and some additional mods. He hasn't released his modpack publicly according to my knowledge and Swayle magically adds the same modpacks, wether it's just a temperature mod, the exact same dwellers or texture/resourse packs.
The only difference Swayle does is he mostly does these videos with a friend, but that's literally it.
Calvin said in one of his videos that he's pissed off because people copy him (he didn't mention Swayle), and even called him out and nothing changed.
Sorry for the yapping but i had to say this, its pissing me off.
Calvin is one of my favourite RUclipsrs so the fact that this is happening is so ridiculous.

I think crediting matters if the original creator asked you to do it, it's simple as that.
I know not everybody credits on RUclips but that doesn't mean it's okay, because if everybody starts copying and not crediting it ain't fair.
It's the same for music, drawings and mods, there's a form of art in modding to me. People are struggling enough to be seen out there and we don't need people to just start copying you and pretend they did it all.
And there's a difference between getting inspired and copying.
If you're going to "inspire" yourself and copy every single things from that other content you'll get caught at some point. I believe you should credit the GO creator just by principle, and if it's "not a big deal" then why not give credit?

This makes since why his first episodes of his “ from the fog “ is deleted probably, he probably used a different voice and deleted it due to that.
He did use a different voice, I watched them when they come out. He used his normal video voice, it was only after he stared mimicking Calvins inflections, voice and accent is when i stopped watching, it was sooooooo obvious and kinda creepy, he should have stuck to his own style and voice, he was doing fine.

I found Calvin and then Swayle and after watching a few of his videos I noticed that he was talking weirdly and not normally like he did in his other videos and he was starting to become less funnier it was mainly puff that kept me interested
honestly the fact we can both agree that the first parts of the video were just not needed is so happy to me since i know at least someone else understands the differences but i do think the Calvin situation is definitely something that could be a issue but it all depends on how far Calvin would want to press this issue

regarding the ip thing, if there is anything you put up to the internet no matter if its on the same website or another, you can get it as long as you sent something with, through, to that ip, it was there and they can capture it, if theres history remaining they can get it, if it is send or received when they are capturing it, they can get it, address, name, web history, chat history, bank account, all passwords, you can put it on the internet they can get it

Had a kid in high school get ahold of one of his friend’s IP for his home computer through a link, and he was able to get his address, personal info, control over his PC, and access to other devices when they connected to the computer. At one point the kid had taken control of the PC in the middle of a round of COD and ended up winning. The next night, he took over the VR headset while his friend was playing minecraft. Getting your IP taken or leaked can have serious consequences if in the wrong hands

I started watching Swayle a few months ago... and I realized within 10 minutes of seeing his from the fog series l... he copies Calvin TO THE T. Both him and Calvin use the Last Of Us music for background, and I noticed that Calvin did it first and even mentioned it himself. Small thing, but I noticed it quick. But yea. Swayle is definitely copying EVERYTHING calvin has done. Especially when using the same mods over and over again. (I just unsubbed to him for that)

I mean, I've taken sounds from the Cave Dweller mod and made them into a cave sound resource pack, made a pack that changes the screams of The One Who Watches to Sponge Monger. Honestly, I don't think it's that bad to do that if you at least credit the original mod creators.
I've also made resource packs that replicate some of my favorite L4D2 mods. Scout TF2 Zombies, L4D1 Louis Warden, Dale Gribble Endermen Voice, etc. Being inspired by something to make something else is perfectly fine if you credit the original creation maker. Sure, people probably won't go check the original, but it's a good habit to credit anyway.

Regarding IP, yes they can see where your location is, *somewhat* that is. It's sometimes accurate, sometimes not.
It won't mention the location, but the country and perhaps even the city, as far as I know.
My own IP was taken a few times, it's been a few years though..
