2001, 2007, 2009, 2013, 2015, 2023... all amazing songs and talented artists. And genre-shifting stuff. I don't understand it, either. If nothing else, 2023 produced a global phenomenon, despite the actual result at the contest.
When I tell people that Eurovision is magic, if you're just listening to the albums and not watching the lives, you're going to miss so much of the charismatic and just seeing these artists being so proud to be up there. This is why I love your vision. Look at how happy she is. She's confident she's optimistic and she's having fun and that's what's important
Slovenia are the most underrated country in Eurovision, in 10-30 years if they still haven't won or even finished Top 5 Millennial ESC fans will feel the same way about them as older fans do for Portugal.
Jack Walker You could be onto something. Honestly I don't believe we will ever win, we are just too small and Europe isn't into masterpieces like this one either. What do you want from us?! We are not Sweden! (In a few years I expect our Maja (2011 entrant) to win for them, she lives and is getting married there so it's obv she will enter Melodifestivalen soon). And the wreath here will be unbelievable then LOL, people get upset over the stupidest things here.
1 SERBIA 9/10 beautiful song, strong presentation 2 SLOVENIA 8,5/10 amazingly epic song, presentation should be better 3 BULGARIA 8,5/10 great, inspired song, excellent choice and proper presentation, my favourite Bulgarian entry 4 BOSNIA-HERZEGOVINA 8/10 the song is pure beauty, presentation is ok 5 FYROM 7,5/10 very good entry 6 ALBANIA 6,5/10 sweetly romantic but I've liked every other Albanian entry more than that 7 GREECE 6/10 uplifting but cheap and kind of annoying 8 ROMANIA 5,5/10 quite entertaining but not of my taste at all 9 MONTENEGRO 4,5/10 nice voice and rock elements but the result annoys me somehow
Ten years later and I still swoon over Slovenia's entry (very underrated indeed), so beautiful and amazing! Alenka Gotar's performance was brilliant, full of energy and with an impressive vocal quality, I loved her (and her outfit, probably the most gorgeous dress I have ever seen) and I still do, even if I don't know the language, ¡eres una diosa Alenka! -ESC fan from Panama
Alenka please come back to the ESC and show this basics how a queen does it. The best part? That is not in English and it shows how amazing it's in their native language. That makes it even more beautiful.
Deserved Top 10 ! Love from Greece !! It’s one of my favorite opera songs in ESC My Top 5 Opera Songs 5. It’s My Life 4. La Voix 3. Grande Amore 2. Slovenia 2007 1. La Forza
This song got played dirty. The back-vocalists were on point, the artist had 0 missed notes. But placing in 7th place and passing to final from the hardest semi-final in the history of ESC was a victory in itself, especially from Slovenia who usually gets left behind in the semi-finals.
What a voice of this girl. Amazing entry of Slovenia that year....maybe the only edition when all the ex yugoslavian countries sang in their native languaje and note in english....
It's funny because usually ex-Yugo countries tend to be faithful to their own language, but there's at least one country every year sending something in English which breaks the trend.
Back then, while "Western" Europe cried out loud how rigged the contest was, how invalid the televoting actually was and got as far as to pick troll and offensive songs to "protest", "Eastern" Europe was busy saving Eurovision. This masterpiece is yet another perfect example.
I was thinking same! i remember uk, ireland,,germany and france cried all the time. They just sent weak songs. Nowadays we can see in eurovision that western countries and especially "bad" eurovision countries can win such as Austria, Netherlands, Israel and Portugal. They all were quit terrible in ESC in 2000´s era.
Ahhh, yes, I completely agree with you. It was so ridiculous complaining about the block voting, and then they sended songs like Flying the Flag, Love Power etc???
Never forget that without this big 5 ... we won't be here now. Those countries built and maked the contest during decades. And now they are paying between the 60 and 70% of the real cost of the show for every country. So you can be rude...but keep this in your mind. Me entendiste papito ?
GREAT SONG. Few years after with Italy (Grande amore), it reminds me that NOT always the best song win. Alenka, for us, you were the winner!!!!! Greetings from Greece P. S. Please return to Eurovision
Why is it that Slovenia had (after Serbia) the best song and performance from the former Yugoslav countries, yet did the poorest of all of them? Bosnia and FYR Macedonia were so mediocre, yet both finished higher. I just don't get it. This song fuses opera with European techno to great effect. Really classy and powerful. Slovenia, ever the most robbed of ex-Yugoslavia.
Croatia and Montenegro didn't even qualify so Slovenia didn't do the poorest of them all. The result looked like this: 1. Serbia 2. Bosnia and Herzegovina 3. FYR Macedonia 4. Slovenia 5. Croatia 6. Montenegro
ESC Argy Well, okay, I stand corrected as far as qualification goes, but I still say Slovenia should've done better than Bosnia-Herzegovina and FYR Macedonia.
Maybe the song was not that ear-friendly for the average audience. The songs from Macedonia and Bosnia were closer to what you can find in the radio, while Cvet z juga was a bit over the top (even if I like it a lot).
Every year, between october and december, I have eurovision 2007 vibes and I love to listen to Serbia, Slovenia, Hungary and North Macedonia. I don't know why. But what I'm sure about is that Slovenia's song is a masterpiece and it deserved easily a top 10. Such good memories! Love from Belgium 🇧🇪
I love her. This song is amazing and her vocals are just perfect! Plus she looks like the Evil Queen from Once Upon a Time haha everything is just so perfect!
Just having a lamp glued on to your hand alone deserves 12 points. She slayed that night. (edit) Never mind i saw she had a glove with the lamp in it, still great regardless.
Fabulous darling! I was bedazzled first time I heard this and knew Slovenia were qualifying for the first time, a gripping yet spooky live performance and damn it she deserved a Top 10 finish! 15th still wasn't high enough but it wouldn't be the only time ESC braced an Operatic dance entry, I have heard that Alenka Gotar is a right diva in person apparently!
Shes so excited its contagious, whilst giving powerful vocals. Its amazing.
I hope one day Ljubjana will host the Eurovision just in justice of all theses masterpieces that they sent. 15th place is undeserved here.
2001, 2007, 2009, 2013, 2015, 2023... all amazing songs and talented artists. And genre-shifting stuff. I don't understand it, either. If nothing else, 2023 produced a global phenomenon, despite the actual result at the contest.
@@RustlingRagazzaJoker Out made me love and listen to so many Slovenian bands and songs 🙏 also 2024 now. Just unfair

i agree....love the power!

Not only is everything here great.
You can just see how much fun she is having on that stage.
You don't often see someone smile like that

its still my winner too :)
@@SędziszowskiMK 😍😍😍😍

respect to molitva for winning but cvet z juga is just too good for eurovision
Slovenia always gets half of the points it actually deserves. Their entries are usually GREAT!

Slovenia slays as usual. The best opera Eurovision song ever.
ArgyESC Now 2nd best. Estonia 2018 entry surpasses any pop opera song ever sung on the show
Florian Pichon not imo
Florian Pichon Agree
@@florianpichon6050 maybe Elina Nechayeva showcased more vocals. But La Forza, as a song alone, is not even close to being as good as Cvet Z Juga.
Cvet z Juga is still the best by a mile. La Forza is still amazing though.
That was the year all Balkan countries had amazing entries
1 SERBIA 9/10 beautiful song, strong presentation
2 SLOVENIA 8,5/10 amazingly epic song, presentation should be better
3 BULGARIA 8,5/10 great, inspired song, excellent choice and proper presentation, my favourite Bulgarian entry

5 FYROM 7,5/10 very good entry
6 ALBANIA 6,5/10 sweetly romantic but I've liked every other Albanian entry more than that
7 GREECE 6/10 uplifting but cheap and kind of annoying
8 ROMANIA 5,5/10 quite entertaining but not of my taste at all
9 MONTENEGRO 4,5/10 nice voice and rock elements but the result annoys me somehow
Except Croatia
Slovenia isn't Balkan country. It was yugoslavian, but never balkanic
slovenia is central Europe not balkan
This year would have been the second time. Unfortunately, Slovenia was the only Balkan country not in my top 18 this year 😅
A perfect song, one of the best Eurovision songs ever. The fact that it finished 15th is ridiculous :'(
the fact that it finished 15th shows how useless eurovision is. It should have been 1st and this comment coming from a greek
When I listened to 2007 songs for the 1st time I thought this/Finland was winner... Reality is brutal
