Hi folks, apologies that the music is a little too loud in places. I need to upgrade my editing software! Thanks 😊

That's a pretty solid replacement door - I fix a lot of these and usually the bottoms are in tatters. Luckily they are an easy enough repair as the shape is dead simple. If you have some 25mm box iron, some flat sheet, a welder & a sandblaster, you can pretty much repair any issue you come across on them. I spent the afternoon today prepping one for paint - but I wouldn't fancy doing one without having the blaster - there's just too many nooks & crannies that corrode to try use a grinder/sander. The blaster gets in everywhere - you can then use an epoxy primer to make sure it stays shiny..
That turned out well nice ^^ - lovely job. The Boy done good. :-) It's a lot of work "just fettling a door". Sounds simple till you go at it..

Thanks man! Cheaper than a new door for sure. Ideally I would have got a galv replacement but this one will do! I wish I could setup a sandblaster but just don’t have to space 🥹 one day when I get my own house and garage I can dream of some better tools ⚒️!!

@@Oilatumify working on these a lot, I'd say a proper decent blaster is Essential Tool Number 1 - without one, everything is kinda Iffy when it comes to restoration. There's just too many nooks, crannies, sods of spots & corrosion to try work with just wire wheels or grinders. An average LR refurb here will use close to a ton of blast media shot at it - which is a fair bit of blasting. Without that, I have no clue how people manage.. I kinda think they don't, they just think maybe they did. :-)

That’s a great idea actually, if you can source a set! Getting harder to find 😃

@@Oilatumify it’s the cost more than anything but my thoughts were the defender is a keeper so worth doing, got all tdci apart from the drivers door 😅
