Both Dune movies are worthless trash, the plot never advances, the acting ranges from okay to Adam Sandler in Grown Ups, all characters are cartoonishly one dimensional, not a single song is memorable, there are two tones in this movie: Washed off sand and black and white and the final battle is rushed into 30 seconds at the end.
I LOVE slow burn movies that take their time, the problem with Dune is that NOTHING happens. In between Dune 1 & 2 there has been almost 6 hours of film and Chani ends with the dialogue “you know this is just the beginning, right?” AFTER 6 HOURS THIS IS JUST BEGINNING?????
This movie is trash and I perfectly understand why Dune will be forgotten in sci-fi.
And yes, I know Dune inspired Star Wars, but there is a reason Star Wars will never be forgotten anytime soon and Dune will disappear 2 years after the third movie

This guy is the epitome of a dude who only likes Action. I bet ya, he loves all the Fast and Furious movies.
He can't say otherwise, because all his reasons for 'cutting down to two hours' is simply; theres not enough action. Your opinion is noted, but rename the title to: I think Part Two of Dune is Beautiful and Boring.

Buddy, if you think your comment was anything other than one dimensionality and narrow mindedness personified, the very best of luck to you. But my reply stands.
Just because everyone is fellating this movie, doesn't mean those that aren't are somehow stunted or stupid.

Dune from 1984 by Lynch has a lot of effects that hold up and are more amusing than the new films. The 4k versions they sell currently look very good, they have re-released it in cinemas too.

lol no the movie could not have been cut down to two hours. you guys forget that this is a book and and the fact that this material even came out this coherent was a monumental achievement. most of the scenes exist to make sure that the themes are clear cut as well as the romance that makes the basis of the story. while i can see why someone might find this boring especially the first half but to say an entire hour could have been cut is insanity. respect your opinion though.

Dune 1984, and its extended editions are far better than the remakes. Dune 1984 has multiple tv versions, streaming versions too so its interesting to see what each one included. In some countries they are selling official releases of fan edits too. Probably due to them re-adding back bonus scenes. The extended edition explains more but the Theatrical edition is the best one, its great as is and easy enough to follow. Some of the new physical media versions they sell currently include bonus scenes. They have an Ultimate Edition selling but its pricey.

Plagerise, buddy its an adaptation, its going to pull from what came from before. And I want to say I don't think Lynch's Dune is bad by any means, in fact I like it a ton for the Lynch things in it, heart plugs, Baron's middle school acne and even the fucking pugs. But what DV really has which unfortunately Lynch didn't isn't just budget and good vfx, it's character accuracy. Paul is Paul to a T in Denis version and that matters more than mise en scene in my books.@@humbleopulence

Dune remake 1 and 2 are boring, woke Hollywood checklist trash. Very safe, very boring, poor telling of the story, miscast in every way. The action is boring, the sets, designs everything. Lynch's Dune from 1984 became a classic because it was inspired and entertaining. The only reason theses remakes occurred was due to the Dune 1984 becoming a hit with younger generations. It surpassed the books too.

  • @Skeptic_Tank
    @Skeptic_Tank 10 месяцев назад

I loved the movie even though it had flaws. Your take on it is just incredibly stupid.
Here is what you could of legitimately talked about:
1: The way the worm riding was depicted was very inconsistent. When shown with entire families and supplies on a worm. How did they get on, how do they get off? The movie did a terrible job to make that believable.
2: The Emperor's soldiers in the books are supposed to be an elite army. In the movie they are just standing there with swords like idiots and get easily crushed. That was poorly shown.
    3. How Paul was brought back from the dead after drinking the worm blood was incredibly eye rolling and felt too Disney. That pulled me from the emersion of the movie.

Seems like an unpopular opinion, but I agree. Second film seemed to drag even though there was a lot happening. I nearly fell asleep at one point, and considered leaving early - I’ve read the books so already know the rough story.
The CGI is gorgeous and the movie is visibly striking. But the problem is that the entire thing seems to be shot like a trailer. It’s way too consistently “cinematic,” and if everything is that way, it just leads to fatigue.

The Feyd scene in the fighting arena was awesome to look at, but did it really establish Feyd as a good fighter? He took out a few drugged men, and a starved looking man. (I know he is the fight coordinator IRL and a bad ass in real life, but he did not look that way in the movie) Is that really enough to justify a fight with someone trained in the wierding way, a mentat, and a kwisatz haderach who can see the future.
