    INFJ = Extroverted Introverts
    ENFP = Introverted Extroverts
    They're the waking paradoxes

    • @savvageorge
      @savvageorge 2 года назад +4

      Every person is a mixture of introverted and extroverted cognitive functions. INFJs have very social extroverted functions focused on people, ENFPs extroverted functions are more focused on ideas so INFJs appear more extroverted from the outside.

    ...and that’s what happens when you put an ENFP and INFJ in the same room, constant moments of ongoing laughter.

  • @silentgrove7670

    One of the things I notice with ENFPs is the eye toggle. This seems to get more rapid the more deeply they are processing ideas. Especially when a new idea hits this goes off at an astonishing rate. I suspect this is Ne being seen on the outside, exploration. Ni eyes seem to stay fixed as ideas just pour in and get absorbed. If I had to state this poetically ENFPs explore truth while INFJs witness truth.
    Watching in certain parts 5:26 feeling a deep warmth from the INFJ engagement towards her ENFP friend.
    My favourite videos in this community are seeing ENFPs and INFJs together.

      i noticed the same thing. Also the way he changes his sitting position as opposed to the INFJ, I think it's a perceiver thing. Also the way they laugh or react ot stimuli is a perceiving vs judging thing

    • @ENFPerspectives
      @ENFPerspectives 2 года назад

      INFP and ENFP engage in similar fashion, though with INFP it’s more culturally appropriate (shopping/ activity/fun) and with INFJ it’s more deep talking or just sitting with them in the sphere of their activities.

    • @zzzcocopepe

      INFJ likes to sit back and look for the keystone. or take their time crossing a river on stepping stones. entp will whack something until the lock breaks. enfp.... i dunno i think they are like entp but theyre not really trying to break the lock.

    As an INFJ, gearing yourself up emotionally/spiritually for challenges and fearing ignorance is too real!

  • @octavia88
    @octavia88 2 года назад +17

    I think the self reflection that an INFJ does alone, in ENFPs happens when taking to others. I need friends to listen to my story and get feedback and the more I tell my story the more clarity I get. I also converse with myself too and think about solutions to problems but I always love to confront my friends. ENFPs can really be blindsided and ignore red flags and negativity around them because they focus on the positive, which is often enough to keep them motivated to go on. I need my friends to tell me "but what about this aspect?"

  • @claudiarivas8492
    @claudiarivas8492 3 года назад +33

    I got watery eyes when you told him you appreciate him being so interested in trying to listen and understand what you say. My type is INFJ, too, and in my circles of friends and family I've got no one with this eagerness to listen and get what I have to say. I got used to people talking over me.
    However, about a year and a half ago, as I became an online English conversation tutor, I met a student from across the Atlantic with a great level of English. The thing is, he was the first person ever who, I saw, wanted to listen to my deepest thoughts. Not only did he wait for me to finish speaking, he also asked me about what I said to deepen his understanding of it. Naturally, it felt weird for me, but it was nice-weird. I felt seen, heard and appreciated as never before. And there's this easy going energy I feel whenever we meet.
    I don't know if his type is ENFP, but I said all of this just to point out how important it is for me as an INFJ, who is used to being the listener and observant thinker, to connect with people who want to know what I think.
    Loved your video! It is a lovely friendship you have there ♥

    • @dominoot2652
      @dominoot2652 2 года назад +6

      DUDE that's so strange, my (ENFP) eyes crease exactly like that too, maybe there is something to it. Like maybe it has something to do with how we internalize laughing? Like I put my chin up when I laugh, maybe showing it's a sign or being more comfortable being vulnerable or more confident, as a lot of ENFPs are (in a similar situation)? As opposed to someone who is more inclined to point their chin down when laughing, subconsciously a bit less comfortable covering their neck (I think that's a psychology thing)? Maybe we develop different smiles based on the position of our jaw somehow?
      Might sound off the wall but there may be something to it, who knows.

    How surreal. This lady listens intently and mmhs while she listens like I do. I had a similar conversation with an ENFP about 2 months ago! Milestones, things I was proud of and I honestly responded that I have yet to get there, almost drawing a blank and yet 3 years ago I had achieved a major milestone in my life by any standard! We as INFJs tend to feel there is much more we can do and achieve according to our own standards..

    This interaction reminds me of my day to day conversations with my mother. She took the cognitive test and got ISFP but to me, I always thought she was an INFJ. She's very much nurturing with everyone's thoughts even if it is against her morals--she'll listen. She's so patient to explain things thoroughly, step by step instead of throwing up a bunch of words at the speed of light, like me(I'm enfp lmao). She has a way of delivering her words and connecting ideas flawlessly. Also her values are everything and she's great at routine. With all that being said, I could go on saying more but this interaction speaks to me because I am an ENFP with a low level of extroversion and I get along so well with my mother than with my father, who's an ESTP but he's more on the unhealthy side as he's quite abusive. All in all, my mother definitely keeps me grounded and she made me value 1:1 connections, and I provide her that extrovert cushion whenever we go out. She's super introverted, not shy as she's not afraid to speak up for herself but reserved. It's difficult for her to initiate conversation with people so I encourage her by starting it off and once she finds something to relate then she starts feeling comfortable. Anyways, just wanna give a big thank u for making this video Gianna! Your friendship with Theo is so genuine. You rock!! 💖💖💖💖

      INFJ love to listen to people, we love people and giving time or doing something for people is what makes us feel alive, in addition if your mother explained to you the “whys” --most likely she was mistyped and she might be and INFJ

    I agree with him about not really wanting to take advice from others, the Fi is so sound in us ENFPs that we don't really..."trust" others' advice UNLESS it strikes very much in harmony with what our Fi is telling us.

    Love this video, Gianna! I thought it was so sweet that your greatest accomplishment was the kind of daughter you have been for your parents. I think we take that for granted sometimes and underestimated how beautiful and lucky we are to have that connection (because a lot of people don't experience it). When you are so used to it, it doesn't seem like an accomplishment but rather just a given. So to hear you describe how valuable that is to you, it really warmed my heart and reminded me of how big of an accomplishment these connections actually are. Once again, loved this video

    I absolutely love this one-on-one type comparison in such an open and informal setting! So interesting that it seems to be INFJs that go for this particular style - doing videos like this one between close friends of mine has been something I've been intending to do even before I decided to focus on the more direct informative content, but I still have every intention of making at least a couple of these before the years out. If you find time I'd love to get some quick tips how to go around making such a video flow like this one does!
    P.S. Love your remarks about overcoming type-weaknesses as that's the main reason I started this channel an entire 2 days ago!

      @GiannaDianthee  5 лет назад +6

      Awesome to hear that you're creating content yourself! I'll be keeping up :) I personally find the current perspective the community has of personality theory to be very definitive and limiting. I wish to challenge people's biases and urge to create judgements about people prematurely. I encourage you to make content that brings people back to how MBTI is a tool, and that it only describes part of what makes a whole person.

    • @CognitivePersonality
      @CognitivePersonality 5 лет назад +4

      @@GiannaDianthee Thank you! I seek to distinguish between the concepts of 'cognitive type' and 'personality' and remind people that exhibited behaviour is often transient in nature and not always a window into the workings of a person's mind. Furthermore, I believe the cognitive functions themselves to be entirely more fluid than others make them out to be and with time I hope to do away with the 16-boxes mentality that currently dominates the community. Awesome to hear we're on the same page; looking forward to future content!

I relate to "self reflection" coz I spend so much time alone researching for my book and a project I'm working to "save humanity" 😏 And now I realize why I get so frustrated with the real world when it seems like they don't get what I'm trying to do but more so coz I don't know how to communicate with these people for what I want.

    Why does the INFJ seem extroverted and the ENFP introverted here?

    • @wav3chaser
      @wav3chaser 3 года назад +22

      Characteristics that are naturally drawn out from one another. ENFPs, although extroverted, are actually the most introverted of the extroverts and people tend to be surprised on how introspective they are. Goofy on the outside, with depth on the inside. INFJs in turn kind of flip that, where they’re inwardly goofy but come off as reserved to most. These two personalities, because they not only compliment each other but also respond well due to their perceptive and listening skills, draw out the other side to each other as a form of familiarity and comfort. I find INFJs have very vibrant personalities when they come out of their shell, and ENFJs are very deep and thought provoking when they’re allowed to show their inner world.

  • @silentgrove7670

    This just appeared and about an hour ago I feel as though I met a new INFJ. I was talking about energy and feeling things from people I cannot explain. She began to say similar things. As I was leaving that sudden feeling and question came over me "Are you an INFJ ?" Not sure yet but my gut says it is very likely: (ENFP)

    • @silentgrove7670
      @silentgrove7670 5 лет назад

      @Naivegedanke It's odd to have this experience now. I have spoken about it with others since discovering it. Since knowing my first INFJ I have met about 12 -15 (I lost count) so far though not all are confirmed. For a theory that has a lot of controversy, why is it, what is it that I am spotting in others? I can spot ENFPs as well.

    • @silentgrove7670
      @silentgrove7670 5 лет назад +2

      @Naivegedanke I spoke with her again today and noticed what appears to be the INFJ gaze which isn't scary for ENFPs, its intoxicating.

    • @silentgrove7670
      @silentgrove7670 5 лет назад +2

      @Naivegedanke You are the first INFJ to tell me this that our facial expressions capture you. My experience of the INFJ gaze is to watch the mysteries of the universe beginning to unfold. I remember well before I knew anything about MBTI concepts that I said to my former best friend, "We are mirrors for each other." I am curious if this idea resonates with you ?

    • @silentgrove7670
      @silentgrove7670 5 лет назад +1

      @Naivegedanke She tested INFP. I have to admit to having some doubt on this. Then again sometimes I want something to be true and that gets in the way of what is true.
      I have been in super bouncy mode today, which tends to mean I overwhelm people

    • @silentgrove7670
      @silentgrove7670 5 лет назад +2

      @Naivegedanke I am pretty sure she is an INFJ and not an INFP. I feel this way for three reasons. 1 : The smile is broad and wide. This seems an FJ feature. 2: The eyes. 3: Totally unscientific gut feeling.
      I have an odd question: Today I was out for lunch and a server I had before looked after me. About a year or more ago I remember when I asked her name I heard the answer in my head just as she would say it a split second later. Today she told me she is an empath then I flipped the book to her I am reading about empaths. Do you have experiences like this. I feel my first INFJ friend was also an empath as we both began knowing things about each other. I was the first to bring it up. I seem to know things about people without knowing how I know what I know. Apparently INFJs seem to be able to do this as well. What do you think of this ?
