Your videos are amazing!!! Thank you!!!!! Im ordering this oil, machined pinion and spur right now. I’m hoping I get rid of the issue I have with the pinion and spur breaking all of the time
Your videos are perfect! Very helpful! Question: my sledge lost the front traction. Could it be a issue with the front differential? That’s a lot for sharing!
@@redbanditracing Something broke. there is no more power to the front wheels. Rear wheels only. I’m guessing it was something in the front differential. Any thoughts? Thanks for your reply!
If front differential leaks because of a slight impact, is it a cause for concern? Car still runs perfectly and diffs are working well. No chasis bending
@redbanditracing I got the Traxxas Sledge in 2022 and it has been sitting on a shelf or even in a LHS because I was getting some upgrades and servicing and it just sat there. Kind of rediscovered your channel recently when I gained enough courage to pick up the car and started playing again. Was distracted by smaller RTR cars that come and go easily. I started the hobby with too many cars and too little experience (working adult). While there are many RUclipsrs out there who reviews things and even destroy things, you're one of the few rare gems who actually knows a lot about making this go further and you're so kind and generous with your time and instruction. While there's a lot of bad press about the Sledge, there's something magical about being able to have mastery of your own destiny or at least the destiny of your RC. Thanks for being the lighthouse in the dark dangerous sea of doubt.
Glad to hear that, we really appreciate it. Some our repairs are a bit long, but showing the repair from beginning to end is very important to most. SLEDGE is a beast and a tank BASH ON!!
@redbanditracing Yes. It's my first proper RC car. The Tamiyas in my childhood while treasured just doesn't measure up. So I took apart the diff housing. What an undertaking for a first timer. I've been modifying my Arrma Groms till kingdom come but when its so heavy duty like the Sledge it's quite different. There's an obscene amount of grease inside applied on the diff, the leakage is probably from the factory grease. The cup is not cracked, o ring inside the diff seems ok, and the diff is filled up to the point which you recommended and everything inside looks ok. The silicone or plastic film strip keeping the diff fluid in looks to be complete and not torn. Ball bearings seem ok and a little dirty from the factory grease and grime from running. I do spot that one of the differential teeth has a small chip, probably due to impact or wear and tear. Will take advantage of Black Friday sales and order something GPM from Aliexpress. Meanwhile doused the outer diff gear with Losi blue grease and hope it holds up.
20M would help ballooning, it’s the stock weight. But make sure it’s not low, it’s typically always low from factory. If you really wanna eliminate tire ballooning get belted tires, but make sure to increase the pinion size as belted tires reduce the speed as well.
@@redbanditracing Does it wheelie a lot easier when you do it or the same amount? I got the Maxx slash and even know the tires are belted it still tears them off the glue
It will wheelie more, it’s a give or take relationship. 20M weight less ballooning, more wheelies. 1M weight more ballooning less wheelies. Belted tires are the way to go, and with that much power most tires will come unglued.
Nice video . Very informative
Glad you liked it
Thank you very much! This was a great help.
You're welcome!
Would appreciate 1/10 center diff service video. Especially with aluminum housing upgrade 👍👍
Which 1/10 scale in particular?
@@redbanditracing Stampede, thanks!
Very useful thanks🏴🏴👍👍
Awesome
Thx for the Video 👍🏻 you like the Hot Racing Spur more than the Traxxas Hardened Steel Spur?
I’ve noticed the HR seems to last longer, haven’t had a issue.
Great video. Thank you

Thank you for watching. Are you saying it’s doing wheelies all the time?

The diffs in the Sledge are known to strip gears. If they are stripped upgrade to Spiral Cut.
Nice! Just found your other video about that. Thanks again for you help!
Is there an up or down side to gasket being symmetrical?
Both sides of the gasket are the same
@@redbanditracing excellent, had me worried 🤣thanks a ton 👊🏻👊🏻

Leaking from the case could be a crack or bearing. I’d make sure nothing cracked inside the housing.
@redbanditracing thanks!

W/ 20million would it still acted like a differential? Or should I go 1million, trying to get my front tires not not balloon so much
