- Ok, so if you're keen to support me in the film festival here's how to do it:
Go To topwaterinvita... click the "Watch Vote Win" button and pay your $25. they will then send you a receipt and another email with login details.
Then go to the App Store and download the TFI:Topwater Film Invitational App, install and add the login details you received in the email.

Once in the app you can watch all the films (screen share to your big screen is cool) and VOTE by hitting the star button in the centre of the menu👌 Happy Days!

All good, and definitely not thinking you were having a go👍 Yea its a bummer I can't just releases the film on RUclips after the film festival is over... I did have the discussion with the guys at SCF about it and it may be possible down the track, but not for a long while i'd say... All in all though I have to say the SCF guys have been really good and seem to be doing the comp for the right reasons, so I think I felt bad for them as I might have given the impression in my intro that it was BCFs gig, who we know probably don't need the extra $25😅 Also I think this level of content most likely would not have ever made it to RUclips etc with out the help of the organisers. I probably should have also made it clear that on top of the prizes for people watching and voting there is substantial prizes for the competitors as well. First prize being 70k! SCF also structured the prize pool so even the last placed film would still walk away with something so all the time and money spent during filming could be offset somewhat. So they kind of made it viable for me to do it in the first place, so I don't want everyone to think they are just pocketing everything. I think they are also donating the Gold Class screening profits to ozfish.org.au so all good stuff that I think is important for everyone to know. I have had a few comments saying it all seemed a bit like a pay to win comp which I don't feel is true so thought id better clear it up😅 I might just pin this thread up top so everyone can have a read if thats fine. Listen, your content, whether it’s a vlog or a film or whatever, brings calm to so many peoples lives. I don’t know if you quite realize how effortlessly your character, charisma, and overall good-heartedness shines through whatever you post here. In some sense i think you’ve become an image of personality to stride after for young as well as old - you certainly have to me. So even though you may feel like you’re forcing your name out there, keep doing it! I haven’t been watching your videos for a while but 4 minutes into this one I’m already in the mood for some fishing and exploring, and I’m amazed at how real you manage to keep these videos by just being yourself.
Love your stuff because it is a breather in a life that gets quite hectic and stressful at times. 🎣

Loved your film, glad you feel proud. You took the directive and made it your own which I think is the point of these competitions, and told a bloody good story along the way. You also channelled Wes Anderson vibes which is high praise, he's a brilliant filmmaker. It's worth paying $25 to watch and see a different side of your skillset, it got my vote!

Nice one Rod. Just a catch and cook content idea for you-one day you should really try to ‘can’ a Mack tuna. Bleed it well, fillet well, and just follow the researched processing recipes. You can ‘pressure can’ it in a pressure cooker or ‘canner’, or you can just do it in a ‘water bath’ method if you don’t have a pressure cooker (different cooking times and levels of shelf stability). If your family likes canned tuna you might well find a very good use for that fish.

I have have so many questions, but I'm sure your busy so I'll burden you with just one and feel free to ignore it if it's too personal. How do you occupy your time on those islands, surely even paradise must get boring from time to time?
Haha, yea I did find myself sitting around a bit on the islands, especially in the hot middle part of the day. But funnily enough I actually feel because of the vids I now full more time doing filming or camera stuff. Also depends on how easy it was to catch the meal for the day, iv had days were I was kind of done at lunch time, then days were I couldn’t catch anything until just before sunset😅

Why don’t you add a keel Gaurd to your kayaks? Most guys use kydex or Gator Slip.

The new "WAVE SPLITTER" is awesome, so practical yet simple design, I'm so glad u switched from gopro to insta360. Missed your vids, and 1st premium fish 🐠🐋🐟on the new yak, it can't get any better..
I think the insta360 will give me some amazing shots but still using the GoPros as well for now. But a nice combination of the two should work well. Definitely impressed with the 360 footage so far👍
