I SAW CLEAN LIVING COUNTLESS TIMES IN HIGHSCHOOL (GRADUATED 1972). THEY DID 2 ALBUMS AND THERE WERE A NUMBER OF GREAT SONGE ON THEM THIS IS MEMORIES BIG TIME FOR ME. WISH THEY WERE STILL AROUND
True story. My parents owned a roller skating rink from 1971 to 2009. And on Monday nights we were closed to the public for private parties. Well usually churches rented out as s fundraiser for their church. I remember one night this one church came and of course they just wanted church style music played. So my father played this song. The pastor asked my dad about it. Dad goes it's talking about heaven Pastor says yes and beer Dad replies, but there isn't any beer in heaven right? Pastor had to admit he didn't think so. Lol It was a great conversation to watch play out!
Thanks to you guys !!! For being on danish Television back in 1973 program "Musikalske Venner" i saw & heard your great song !!! Fun and I enjoyed it !!! Didn`t have the single or Lp then, so I couldn`t play it in the Disco`s and Radio, but then it`s Great to have it on the tube ;) Thanks again !!! Take Care all ;)
Here's some obscure trivia: On this day in 1935 {January 24th} the Krueger Brewing Company in Richmond, Virginia put the first canned beer on sale... Thirty seven years later on October 29th, 1972 Clean Living's "In Heaven There Is No Beer" entered Billboard's Hot Top 100 chart at position #77; five weeks later on December 3rd it would peak at #49 {for 1 week} and it stayed on the chart for 12 weeks... It was the group's only Top 100 record...
Anyone know where I can get their first album? It has "Charles Street in the Morning" on it. I lived in Boston for a period of time, ... remember walking Charles Street with this song on my lips.

It's The One! Thx
LOL! ME, TOO! Ha ha ha ha! And, I'm FORTY-FIVE years old!
This was the hit.
I see they did it first, but Brave Combo's version is very similar and good. On the other hand, Polkacide's version is quite different!
