@@faroutfoodz- at chiller theatre film con ? Right ? U saw her there but I didn't talk to her cause I didn't want to spend money so I didn't want to piss her off by asking her questions or talking
Dee is one of the most real people I have ever met. Not celebrity but person. I met her 10 years ago at a con and at first I thought she was just bored and talked to me at length about so many things. A year later I saw her again this time I was with my future wife and they spoke at length for a very extended time. I walked up and she recognized me and invited us to sit and it was so awesome. 6 years later I am walking around my city and she sees me on the street and recognized me. Such a sweet and genuine person. I will watch and support anything she does.
I wish she would give me a break in the biz , but I didn't go up to talk to her , was to intimidated by her ! She's the mom in ET and Cujo , I would be to nervous to talk to her
What a lovely lady Dee is. I met her at a Con last year in London along with Henry Thomas and Robert Mcnaughton. All were lovely. Dee was so welcoming with my son and I. I explained how growing up watching E.T you are watching it through a childs perspective but now as a parent im watching it through Mary's protective perspective. Just goes to show how timeless that film is. What a great story teller she is. I lived her " he hates mexico story".
What she is saying about childhood is correct. I grew up with health issues that a lot was not known about when I was growing up. Kids didn’t want to be around me, they made fun of me and I never really had friends in school. I’ve always wanted to be someone else. How do you choose to love yourself? I still struggle with this.
The reason she’s still working at her age is because she’s a working actress. She’s not trying to hog the screen or be a bombshell, unlike 90% of actresses seemingly. She plays characters, period.
I'm not a religious person and not a big believer in spiritualism or mysticism. But Dee's stance of being the god of your own thoughts/feelings is a kind of stoicism that I can really get behind.
What amazing interview! I have enjoyed all the interviews I have watched but Dee Wallace really is amazing. I've loved her performances since I was a little kid, but she openness and teachings really got to me. What a lovely soul.
Dee Wallace is wonderful ... Just loved this Michael. Thank you for having her on! “If you want to find the secrets of the universe, think in terms of energy, frequency and vibration.” ― Nikola Tesla
I have met Dee Wallace so many times, and she always remembers me and my wife. When I meet celebrities for the first time, I study up on them, so I'm fully prepared to talk about anything. Well, my first time I met Dee Wallace our discussion was going really well because we talked about her being black balled in Hollywood after her argument on set with Steven Spielberg during filming of E.T. She was amazed I knew all about that incident and what happened to her career at that time. Everything was going great and then I asked how her husband Chris was doing and then she went silent and her eyes started to tear up as she told me he had passed away 5 years earlier. I totally froze up and couldn't believe how stupid I was for making such a horrendous mistake. Dee Wallace actually got up from her table at her convention booth, walked over to me and gave me a full hug telling me it was okay and that she was fine and that I shouldn't feel foolish for my error. I made her cry, and she was more concerned about how upset I was about my error. And my wife and I were invited to sit with her for another hour to have an amazing conversation. After that meeting, Dee always has remembered me and my wife and I love her for that because she is honestly sincere, caring and full of humor and positivity. Dee Wallace is in my top 5 of most favorite people I've met at over 50 horror conventions in 13 years. She is a true national treasure.
I met her nearly 20yrs ago, on an independent horror film. She was so kind to just talk with someone who was hanging out, but had questions about the craft....she hasn't changed 1 bit.
This was probably, by far, my favorite podcast that you have done. I really feel Dee was meant to come to you and that she'll be a huge to you and others.
I just rewatched Cujo yesterday and I wondered what she was thinking during the filming. She was so good in that movie. All of her movies. Have to admit my new favorite is her Supernatural appearance. Loved that.
wow what a wonderful woman , i really got teary eyed watching her describe her husbands passing , always loved her as a kid and now more because shes so real, thanks michael and ryan great interview, but big thanks to dee for being dee
By far one of if not THE best episode so far. Been a fan of the pod for a long time. I love seeing Rosie learn more about the path to healing. I hope Rose gets more out of this friendship with this incredible woman!
I just think the world of this lady. I met her at a horror con and she was so kind to this 80s kid. I'll never forget it. E.T. was the first movie I ever saw in a theatre. ...so cool! I pray she has a wonderful life and gets to do everything she wants to.❤
The Frighteners is my favorite role of hers, because it is so different. The character is such a looney, and Wallace really got to be over-the-top with it. It's such a fun performance. That's why I was stunned to hear that her husband had passed during filming. I can't imagine continuing working in those circumstances, let alone portraying a character with so much (weird) energy. How nice that Peter Jackson and her other colleagues were there for her during that horrible time.
As a post-menopausal woman it was so nice to have a woman of Dee's age talking about sex in such a positive way. Brava! On another note, I REALLY hope that Mike Flanagan and Dee both bug Henry Thomas to visit, his appearance in Alex Winter's doc "Showbiz Kids" was fascinating. I heard him talk about making Gerald's Game at a con last year too, he was very frank and honest about how that role affected him. I think he'd be a great guest.
Dee is such an amazing lady!! Met her a couple of times and she’s so open, she’ll have 10 minute conversations with you like she’s known you forever! LOVE HER!!!!
I got to meet Dee about 6 weeks ago at Fearfest in Raleigh and she was so nice to everyone. I'm happy that I got a picture with her and an E.T. poster signed.
What a wonderful 4th of July treat to wake up to! Dee Wallace wad an amazing interview. I was moved to tears twice. She is beautiful, articulate, thoughtful and clearly down-to-earth. Bravo Ms. Wallace. I watched this interview twice Michael just to feel good. Bravo! Bravo!
This week’s episode is so powerful and moving. Dee definitely opens up and her views on energy is so interesting . She continues to have such a powerful career. She is so strong and brave. Happy Fourth of July!!
I know her from so much, but she will forver be the mum in Critters. I watched that movie so many times as a kid to stop myself from being frightened. Such a great interview Rosie. Well done mate.
I honestly can't recall if I've ever seen anything besides ET that Dee Wallace has worked on, most of the time I'm here watching for Michael regardless of being familiar with the guests. Having said that, this was the most honest and open interview I've ever seen someone give. She's so articulate and assertive, yet allows herself to be vulnerable and doesn't deny or try to suppress her emotions. Very powerful interview.
I got into this podcast on a whim during the pandemic and didn’t really know what to expect. It’s generally good, but this one is at least the best one that I’ve heard/ watched by far. It spoke to me in a big way on multiple levels. Wow.
Dee Wallace is amazing. I've watched her since I was a kid. And listened to her podcast for a decade. But you captured her magic and spirit in a truly unique way. Great job, Michael!
"I was a MILF!" That made me choke laughing. What an awesome episode this was. Dee Wallace, we have so much in common. Just wish I could give her a big hug. Much much much love. ❤ Edit: I think Dee Wallace and John Schneider should talk. 🙏
Love this interview it was honest, funny and emotional all at the same time. I totally get the way she thinks and will definitely read her books, thank you for having this lovely lady on the podcast definitely one of the best episodes 😊
What a legend. This is a good interview. Ms. Wallace seems like the rare celebrity who remained human and relatable. What a tragic and sad story during her Frighteners role, but, thankfully, what lovely people she worked with who supported her. I had no idea.
Excellent interview! I have been waiting for this one since Michael first announced that he spoke to Dee. This one absolutely delivered. What a treat it was to hear about her life and beliefs. Plus we got to hear Michael as Dudley Moore (love his impressions) so that was cool. Keep up the great work!

Hey Michael! Relieving my childhood in those podcast of yours and the Talkville ! Its a dose of nostalgia and good talks! Allison Mack just goes out of the prison.. Can you pls invite her for whatever the time that she wants, to go on your podcast and with her mind is in peace, talk about all those crazy things that happens? Not believing how.. to this day.. Anyway, keep going man! You do good for us!
