Best review on you tube guys I own an RS having owned a cb750 k6 in the seventies this bike brings them days back for me but with modern technology and a fit and finish that's incredible quality once again great review
I discovered this channel a few days ago and complimented you guys with the fact that you don't ruin the engine sound with music. And now, seeing this vid, I can finally hear how my CB 1100 EX (same engine and exhaust) sounds from a distance. And while driving it, the deep sound it makes at 2000 rpm, keeps making me happy. Thanks again !!
It seems like a hell of a lot of bike for the money, to be honest. Neither a cruiser nor a sport bike, just nicely in between. Goldilocks would love it.
I purchased a used 2014 CB1100 this past October. The 2014 model in the USA was all black with it being the first year with the 6 speed transmission. I had owned a CB750 in the late eighties and was looking for another when I found this bike at Savannah Harley Davidson. It redefines the word SMOOTH and with fuel injection pulls effortlessly from idle. I find it is very happy to be ridden from 2,000 to 3,000 RPM and delivers exceptional mileage at 50.7. The trip computer which is standard has two trip sets, plus it shows the average MPG per trip and the number of gallons consumed. It can also be switched from miles to kilometers and the gear position indicator is a fantastic addition. The only drawbacks I find are the turn signals are not self-canceling like my V-Max and the exhaust pipes exiting the engine discolor as they are not chrome. Sadly the 2022 edition is called "The Final Edition" and will be the last air-cooled 4 cylinder bike made. Emissions requirements cannot be met with an air-cooled engine's high and varying cylinder head temperature and additional internal clearances for expansion. One could not ask for a more proven engine design to provide a longer lasting trouble free motorcycle.
I Also have a used 2014 CB1100 14000 mi. The last 7000 mi. on tripA average is 43mpg. On tripB which I reset every tank I can avg. 50mpg on the freeway only going 55 to 60mph takes effort. Fighting a headwind or step grade I will see 35mpg. My drive is 133 mi. 2.8 to 3.2 gals.
I have a 2013 CB1100, red gas tank, beautiful bike. It lacks the refinements of the later models (slightly smaller gas tank, only 5 speeds in the transmission, and no gear indicator or MPG indicator, and halogen lights rather than LED) but still a classic bike. These naked bikes are so easy to do maintenance on too! I can get to everything! And the Honda engines are so damn reliable.
I bought this exact model based on this review chaps! I ride it practically everyday. Absolutely love it. Thank you. 2500 miles on the clock now. Tried a few others before I parted with my cash….Speed Twin was nice - but I’m 5 11 - so it was physically too small. Z900rs was great - but a bit too snatchy and snarly, (and brought out too much of the hooligan in my riding) - but I loved the big 4 cylinder 70’s / 80’s super bike looks. It’s a beautifully put together, great looking piece of kit, and underrated by the journos - I suspect because it was marketed as a ‘cafe racer’ at the time - which it isn’t. It’s just a ‘proper’ motorcycle. It’s a shame you can’t them new (in the UK) any longer.
I own the slightly more retro styled EX version and having owned and ridden Bonneville's, Harley's, W800's, etc, this beats all of them like you wouldn't believe. Designed and engineered with great passion and care and a real pleasure to own.
I have loved the CB1100 since I first saw it some years ago. Such an ideal street bike. I always tell people, among all the over engineered, and over styled bikes, it's so standard, it's outstanding! Good review.
@@MrDarcy-OlMan that's a nice bike. I'm going to go get another look at one in person, because I am always enamored with Honda's build quality in their components. 😁
I thought my heart belonged to the CB650R but now I've discovered this. Of course I'm late to the party and it's been discontinued. A crying shame for such a beautiful machine. What a soundtrack too!
I have a 650r but I’m new at riding so I’m still restricted for another 3 years. This bike js the dream but they don’t sell them in Australia, only the older gen from 10 years ago which doesn’t look anywhere near as good. Hoping that they’ll make a liquid cooled version that meets euro5 and hope they bring them here. Or at least If I could import one
The first bike I wished for when I was a boy was a Honda CB 750 four owned by a neighbor. I loved seeing that motorcycle drive past. He once gave me a ride on it. We went down a steep, rutted alley, that looked like you would want a Jeep or Land Rover for, not a motorcycle. I was scared, but the owner maintained perfect control. Great fun.
I want to say thank you for a great review. After watching this my wife fell in love with the bike and we went out and bought one. We live in Taiwan so we got our hands on the CB1100rs final edition. We both enjoy your channel. Thanks again.
Excellent commentary! These are such wonderful bikes. I recently just traded in my 2017 CB1100 for a 2018 Heritage. It’s such a smooth operating bike and the quality, fit, and finish is superb. However, I’ve always wanted a Harley. Some day I’ll get my Honda back!!
I like your review. This bike sounds amazing - not your typical EFI drone but gruff and rumbly as if it is carburetted. It was a good decision on your part to pepper your video with numerous sound samples. I didn't have to go back to one part of the video again and again and enjoyed listening to your views throughout.
Stolen from another (American )video but a great bit of history on the CB1100 The man responsible for the CB1100, Mitsuyohsi Kohama, played major roles in making a number of impressive motorcycles centered around performance a reality at Honda. These included the CBR600F, VFR750F, CBR900RR, as well as the NR and the RC211V amongst others. The CB1100 was never intended to be about performance nor was it intended to be inexpensive. The price:performance ratio was never "a thing" for the designers and engineers who worked on this motorcycle. Instead it was designed to be a motorcycle that Kohama himself would want to own and ride. The CB1100 was never about "retro styling". Rather Kohama wanted the motorcycle to honor Honda's CB heritage while providing a particular riding experience. From the very beginning, Kohama's design brief for the CB1100 called for an air-cooled inline-4 engine. This was to be the central focus of the motorcycle. Other elements such as the double cradle steel frame, the twin rear shocks and the 18" wheels were all considered to be key components in this truly retro motorcycle. Engineers were told to prioritize producing a certain riding feel as a opposed to prioritizing performance. Thus they ended up with a very under-stressed inline-4 that provides ample torque down low with very linear power delivery throughout it's RPM range. None of this came cheap for Honda as the engine in the CB1100 represented their first air-cooled mill designed from the ground up in over twenty years. More than likely it will also be Honda's last as given future emissions requirements. Honda did have the foresight to design the CB1100's engine to meet far stricter emissions requirement than were in place at that point in time. The true market focus for the CB1100 was Japan where it immediately jumped to the lead sales position in it's class upon it's introduction in 2010. The truth is we were lucky get this motorcycle in the USA at all. It was never intended to be sold here in. Only after enough prodding from America, did Honda finally subside, bringing the bike over here in 2013. I took delivery of one of the very first CB1100's to reach the States and paid $9,999 for it out-the-door. I personally don't think that Honda ever had plans on selling many CB1100 here from the start. They did not bring that many of these machines over here to begin with and aside from providing the press with test units there was no marketing of the bike over here to speak of. By the time Honda released the CB1100RS in 2017 they surely knew it wouldn't be worth the effort to bring it over to the States given that it would fare even worse in the HP/Displacement and HP/$ measurement that most here are enamored with.
I,m on my second one , had one in UK. I now live in Spain and bought one out here, my mate bought my uk one , too much hassle to export. Superb machine out here , 30 degrees , roads fantastic , real posing bike , draws admirers every time i park up....it's a keeper
Love how it sounds like the old air cooled bikes, Iirc Honda used different cam profiles on two cylinders just to achieve that slightly off beat carburetted sound.
What really upsets me is that I've just found you guys out this week. Because now I have a whole channel to marathon because your videos are f&$#@ awesome. Congrats on the content mates. Greetings from Brazil 🇧🇷 PS: It's very sad we don't have this bike down here 😢.
Hi guys great review. I have a 2018 model in red (but am going to get it sprayed in the 1969 gold candy flake colour) & absolutely love it. IMHO it’s much better than a Triumph T120 or RnineT as the engine is so much smoother & the build quality is sublime 👍🏻
Just discovered your channel - immediately pressed the Subscribe button after watching this review. I passed the test for my full A licence in January so have resumed the search for my first " big bike" now that we are out of lockdown. Your review of the CB1100 has certainly whetted my appetite!
Great to see you guys back with real reviews! Prefer the looks of this, the RS but the EX with 18inch wheel is purported to handle better! Sorry but IMHO both you guys make it look like a 400. However, it shows that for someone of my height, it should be ideal. Being a mid tuned Honda, will probably last forever!
I think the EX is more pliable whereas the RS is more sharp in terms of handling. There aren’t many bikes that properly fit for +6ft people really tbh; something manufacturers should address as the top quartile is taller now than in the past, yet bikes are the same size
That bike is too classy for Prince Harry . Love the bike sold my 2003 HD Dyna Sport and have sellers regret. My Honda dealer in Vancouver told me this bike is discontinued? All there other bikes have too much plastic for my liking. Love your videos , keep up the good work .
Haha yes I think you’re right. I know all about sellers regret! We agree, Hondas are great but on the whole very plasticky. It’s discontinued here in the UK which is a terrible shame, especially with the rise in interest for ‘retro’ bikes
I just won a 2017 model of this in a competition, waiting to receive it, was instantly thinking I would trade in for my dream Triumph but after watching this I might just keep it for a little while and see what I think !
@@MrDarcy-OlMan True !!! This is the LAST of 4 inline AIRCOOLED engines ever to be made again. To acheve getting fking E.U. emissions homologation , project manager HAD to invent a dozen of new ideas-inventions and pattents , to fulfill their stupid demand up until 2024. Has great ''misfiring'' order sound ... BUT RPM gauge is dead STILL , it's a land tractor from 2.500 rpm ( Torque ) , handles as an example to the rest ( actually ... not such a thing EXIST as... the ''rest'') , 88 Hp ''only'' for a purpose , ( let him search a little , ''they'' are used to fast info's ! ) and honors the best way Mr. Honda for his '67 750 Super Bike ( a term used in US prints 1st time JUST for his work , that bike ). For 2025, ( although Oil , Marine , Heavy Plastic , and the rest Industries , along with fkers in the Stock Market are INTACT by no special regulation for their ...butts , BUT motorcycle Industrie will always be fked.... So , FK all E.U. morons in their suites !!!!) , it's impossible to pass Euro5 stupidity , so , it'll be only for Japan market . This is The ....last Knight ..... Hence : ...LAST Edition.....
You don't make the bike look small, because it's not a small bike. It looks like you're a big bloke riding it, which is what it is. I like the styling. It's like the muscle bikes of the late eighties and nineties, or retro as they are calling it. It's possibly my preferred shape of bike. Although I like the new fandangled shape of the new CBs from Honda. (I never understood why some bike models got so 'tall', and with adventure styling for road-bikes. That era was weird. Might have messed with centre of gravity too.) I think the CB1100RS could have used some modern pipes though. I think that would help ease the style into the present. Those old style chrome flared pipes have got a just a little bit long-in-the-tooth. One thing that puzzles me is this bike you said has 88bhp, while the CB1000R had something like 140bhp. Odd that they get such variance overall. Also they get more bhp from the 1000cc CB1000R, than the bhp they get from this 1100. I just never really understood it.
Thanks for your comments bro! Really interesting. They got this bike right we think. The CB1000R has more horsepower than you need tbh and no doubt this 1100 will last forever
Presenting A Beauty by a handsome guy at 60+ and a lot to learn for the young boy! Always enjoyed and satisfied by your every video! Alot of love! Thank You!
Been drooling over these retro Hondas for nearly two years, unavailable in Australia unfortunately, I even threatened Honda Australia that I would have to buy a Triumph if they didn't start bringing them in, didn't do any good. Excellent review by the way.
I've just bought an RS (having watched this and a couple of other vlogs) and everything you said stands up. It's beautifully made, looks handsome, sounds terrific. Looks 'proper'. Well done on the review.👍
I have the 2013 original edition still love it, not many were imported to South Africa, and a year later they stopped importing them, mine has the 4 into 1 stainless steel exhaust system, nice video here
You got to be malicious to say anything bad about this bike! I say, it's the most beautiful/sensible bike of all times. I have three bikes already, a Kawasaki Voyager XII, a Triumph America LT and a BMW R9T Pure. I might add this one to make my collection complete.
This bike is Great👍 I have a 2018 model registrer new in 2020. I am 192 cm and the bike fit me well am told😎 I am not an experianced MC rider, but this bike is so easy to handle even for a MC newbeginer in early 50ˋtes. Love this bike🥰
Hey Van Jazzeen, i was curious if this was your first bike and how you found to ride it? I commented in the feed with more description on my size etc, but im 187cm and i feel confident i will be able to handle this bike, but everywhere on forums people say this is not a good beginner bike. So wanted to hear from somone who actually started on this bike :)
Ya got a thumbs up just for the alternative pronouncing of “Aluminum” Great review all around ! Y’all do a good job of passing on information and demonstrating features. Shiny side up mates!
This is a great review and I really appreciate the angle from both young and…less young. The ole’ man looks fantastic tbh. When I get to that age I hope I look as good (I’m 50 and already failing that hope)….also 7:55. Absolute shot of the day.
CONGRATULATIONS! ... this is a great video - BUT - this HONDA CB1100RS is even greater! ;-) ... after 12.000 km I love this engine more and more every day ... it is super smooth and powerful ... I have less than 5 liters fuel on 100 km when doing a tour ... it is minimalistic BUT it has every thing a good bike needs! ... it is a joy to ride this bike! ... Greetings and best wishes from Austria!
I’ve been waiting for this particular model myself here in the us. Well… I guess the bmw r9t will do. I think the reason why they are not selling this model in the us is most American buyer prefer sport bikes and Harley.
Same reason we can't have Toyota diesels... corporate decided it wasn't worth it trying to pass CA emissions, and Cali controls the US car/bike market. Still, you can get a Triumph Speed Twin or Kawasaki z900rs. Better bikes.
I have one and I totally agree... I’m also 6’3” and it fits me. Really great handling bike and don’t forget the superb brakes. Pretty sure mine is better though as it’s black 😀
@@MrDarcy-OlMan also, loved the inspired comedy "reminds me of your mother" ! 😂 On the bike, the thing that I really wasn't expecting, is the sublime handling.
Great vid and very informative. I have found that Honda have been lacking of late, but they have certainly bounced back in 2020. I would be interested in seeing how it stacks up against the Kawasaki 900rs. Nice retro look though, exhaust each side is nice, I see adding a beautiful custom there. Be nice if you can get the W800 cafe, these are very popular. Thank you for sharing.
I own a 2018 CB1000R (which I love). I had not seen this 1100RS until I watched this review - fantastic looking bike - very similar looking to the Triumph Speed Twin - I would love to see a head to head test and see this bike with Vance and Hines pipes on it. Great review - subscribed. #supportmvc
I think Honda have done a neat job all round. No exposed plumbing or radiator on it either like Kawasaki's Z 900 RS, because this Honda is air/oil cooled. Why don't they make a 750 and 550 version of the EX? That's what they all did back in the day.
6:58 I had to play that again because it completely caught me off guard, well played sir well played haha. As for the bike, pretty sweet, what I would do to it personally is get a bigger front wheel for it (18 inchs), get clip on handlebars, a dart piranha windshield and paint the tank a more inetersting color (Red, Blue, green, Yellow or Glossy Black) and it will be PERFECT.
Thanks for the review, I’m thinking of changing my 2019 Crossrunner for the cb1100 , so love the review really helpful now need to book a test ride . 👍
Interesting comments on the size of the bike. I tested a SpeedTwin on Saturday - a fantastic torquey bike, but at 6’1” I found a little on the small side (but I do have a GS1250 in the garage, so may be it’s me). The CB is on my list as well, as an 1100, I was hoping it might have a bit more space.
Thanks fellas, I luv this bike and the EX but we can't get here in Australia, bloody well sux. Even the new Trident we only get the learner legal bike and I'm dam sick of being treated like second class citizen by motorcycle companies.
Greetings from Sydney, Australia....just subscribed & I'll be looking at that clothing too....looks good. We got the first of these retro CB1100's a few years back & they were typically overpriced & didn't sell well. They ran the 18" spoked wheels with narrower tyres & a 4 into 1 exhaust system. There was also the expectation of a faired version in typical racy colours like the old CB1100R of the 80's, that had been shown off as a possible variant but alas no. Now that would've sold like hotcakes here.... But Honda have been steadily changing & improving this model & even though I liked that first offering, I was waiting for these newer versions. But alas, the big 'H' here down under decided, "no more"....& all I get is a big fat, "dunno, probly not", from my local dealer. So a while ago in 2108, I purchased one of the last, (that we got), of the injected Yammy XJR1300's which were languishing in a warehouse somewhere & that's a pretty good thing too. We never got the absolute final 'cafe' version that you & Europe saw....notice how I seperated the UK from Europe just then. How trendy am I ?? :))) Anyway, loved the review & I noticed you went into things like rider height & ergo's etc. Well done. I'm a tad under 6' at 5'11" & it all made perfect sense to me, but even more info would be great, like for instance a mention that the CB has a centrestand. Silly things like that. I'm an oldie (about to turn 60), & I've been riding motorcycles since the age of 15 ish, & I appreciate a centrestand. We had em back in the day & they were great. Yeah, I know people would remove them for one reason or another but I never did....far too useful to just throw away....nuff said. Funnily enough, years ago, mates used to tell me, the Japanese can't do "retro"...only 4-cyl super sport bikes with a gazzillion horsepower.....silly lads. But they certainly have enough production history of they're own to draw inspiration from, the engineering is superb (usually), & the CB you reviewed here is testimony to that. Looking forward to more..... Regards/Cheers Nik👍
This bike is a tribute to the time when bikes still looked awesome and were not made of pieces of cheap plastic with a huge liquid radiator at the front.
First time I've watched one of your videos and enjoyed it, but just to sit in pedants corner for a second, the rake isn't the angle of the forks, it's the angle of the headstock to the wheel spindle. Some bikes have the wheel spindle behind the forks, which changes the angle. Anyway, enough of me being a smartarse, I'm going to watch some more of your videos.
Yes good point. We were trying to keep it simple for the layman but I guess it wouldn’t be any less difficult to explain correctly. Thanks for watching 👍
I think I will get one soon. You both looked so convinced by the greatness of this bike, which means something to us because you always speak truthfully. Best
As far as I know, you can’t buy the RS version of the bike in the U.S. I’m not sure it meets admission standards. I would love to ship one over from the UK if it’s even permissible.
Love your videos and thanks for this review. I'm looking at buying either the T100, T120 Bonneville series, Moto Guzzi v7 Special and this beauty the cb1100rs. Riding includes, country roads, mountains and highways in the US, any thoughts on which you would pick? I'm really leaning towards the v7 special, but this 1100rs is sexy too. I'd appreciate any insights. Thanks and keep the vides coming. Cheers!
I ended up buying one in black. Has a nice robust and visceral feel to the air cooled motor. Not as agile as my speed twin but didn’t expect that as is a much heavier and planted machine.
To the big guy: I don't think that you look too big on the bike...close, you do make the bike look a little small, but it lik a big guy on a smaller horse, it still works! I luv this bike, but I've got a '97 Cbr1100xx, not stock it's absolutely stupid fast, but I'm 68 I don't ride stupid, or I wouldn't be 68!
Like it, as some have mentioned comparable to the Z900RS,although being a Honda less of a hooligan, so it would be OK with a Givi topbox for touring .... yes? I would buy this over a Bonneville.
I just got the 2014 (last year in the us) I love it, it rolls from a stop easy, I have noticed once it's warmed up good, it's easy to kill because it idles so low
The Japanese got the formula right with the UJM across the frame four. People still love the look of my Suzuki GS550, this is a better modern version of that.
Ide honestly like to see Honda make a new cb1100 or cb1300 in the current neo-retro style with modern tech and performance. Think it would be a great move and and a little more punch over the current cb1000r. Probably stroke out the current cb1000r motor to give it more punch and torque
@@MrDarcy-OlMan I think it would give Honda better step into the hyper naked category of bikes. the current cb1000r is a sweet bike! But underpowered on paper by far compared to bikes like the Mt-10, super duke 1290, s1000r etc.
The new CB11000RS will be launched in 2022 with lighter materials (frame and engine) and of course to match Euro 5 standard. Such a grail bike to wait for!
I think it’s a better bike without too much tech, there’s no need for it at all. Tech is just something to go wrong, who needs rider modes and all that shit, if you can ride you just need a throttle and brakes. Lovely bike.
Great video Gents, but honestly this is not a beginner's bike at all... it's actually quite dangerous for someone who has just gotten their licence..... if you're a newbie watching this video considering the cb1100rs as your first bike, my twopence worth of advice (after riding for 30+ years) is: it may end up being your last bike! Get 50.000 miles under your belt on anything under 500cc before considering any RS model please, for your own sake and your family's.
C'mon. It's not even 90 hp and it weighs as a cast iron bridge. In Europe if you get your A-license you take exam on a 650 cc motorcycle with around 75 hp. This bike has 10 more hp but is substantially heavier. It should be just fine as the first bike.
Took one on a test ride today, it slowly grows on you....and now I really like it. Completely different from my liquid cooled Triumph, and so much more comfortable. My only concern is its weight ,Although you don't notice that when riding it. Lovely in the corners compared to my 18" tyres on my triumph. I'm seriously thinking of getting one👍
Have a '94 CB1000 which looks almost exactly like this - same tank, cluster, etc.. Only diff is the seat / rear end (prefer the '94), but would love to get this in the US. Thanks also for the height refs. I'm 6'3'' and ergonomics are always a big consideration
@@MrDarcy-OlMan You're quite welcome... I've been riding motorcycles since I was able to straddle the seat... Have owned many bikes through the years... My last one being a Yamaha VStar... yes, a very nice looking machine, but you've obviously not seen the CB900F-5 - now that's a bute-y-full machine!
It is a dream bike, damn shame they don’t sell it in Australia
A very classy motorbike for the sensible mature guy that is going to keep it for many years.

And now, seeing this vid, I can finally hear how my CB 1100 EX (same engine and exhaust) sounds from a distance. And while driving it, the deep sound it makes at 2000 rpm, keeps making me happy.

Thanks Roeland! We too appreciate the symphony of the engine sound. 👍🏼💯
How to embarrass your son, 'Sounds like your Mother', brilliant.
Chris haha yes got him!
Fabulous motorcycle and sad to see it go. Already disappeared from Honda UK's website.

Great to hear! Can’t go wrong with a Honda 💯

Awesome! Yes this is a proper motorcycle and indeed a great shame Honda don’t offer it here.

I have loved the CB1100 since I first saw it some years ago. Such an ideal street bike. I always tell people, among all the over engineered, and over styled bikes, it's so standard, it's outstanding! Good review.
Yes definitely! Thanks buddy. CB1000R review coming up Thursday evening 👍🏼
@@MrDarcy-OlMan that's a nice bike. I'm going to go get another look at one in person, because I am always enamored with Honda's build quality in their components. 😁
Totally agree! The seating, riding ,handeling, everything is Honda top notch! Love this RS version
I own a 2014 version of this bike and I find it quite powerful enough. These Honda’s are beautifully made and a pleasure to ride.
Yes absolutely 👍🏼
I thought my heart belonged to the CB650R but now I've discovered this. Of course I'm late to the party and it's been discontinued. A crying shame for such a beautiful machine. What a soundtrack too!
Yes I know! Terrible shame because it’s what people of taste want! 😉
I was about to get a cb---r too, I wasn't set on the 650 or 1000, and glad i found this for 6k used
I have a 650r but I’m new at riding so I’m still restricted for another 3 years. This bike js the dream but they don’t sell them in Australia, only the older gen from 10 years ago which doesn’t look anywhere near as good. Hoping that they’ll make a liquid cooled version that meets euro5 and hope they bring them here. Or at least
If I could import one
The design of this bike is timeless 🤙🏻
Yes you’re spot on 👍💯
The first bike I wished for when I was a boy was a Honda CB 750 four owned by a neighbor. I loved seeing that motorcycle drive past. He once gave me a ride on it. We went down a steep, rutted alley, that looked like you would want a Jeep or Land Rover for, not a motorcycle. I was scared, but the owner maintained perfect control. Great fun.
Awesome! Did you get one in the end?
@@MrDarcy-OlMan No, back in the 90s, I picked up a Honda Magna V45 for my first motorcycle. I rode it everywhere. I enjoy your reviews.
@@miporsche ahh ok. Thanks buddy 💯
I want to say thank you for a great review. After watching this my wife fell in love with the bike and we went out and bought one. We live in Taiwan so we got our hands on the CB1100rs final edition. We both enjoy your channel. Thanks again.
Thanks very much! That’s great to hear 💯👍🏼
I like your format about the bike, it looks like you riding the "F" series honda. Thanks for the introduction.
My personal bike is a Heritage Classic; very different from the Honda as you know. The CB impressed us massively
I like your review. This bike sounds amazing - not your typical EFI drone but gruff and rumbly as if it is carburetted. It was a good decision on your part to pepper your video with numerous sound samples. I didn't have to go back to one part of the video again and again and enjoyed listening to your views throughout.
Thanks buddy! Yes it does sound nice. Even better with different end cans!
Stolen from another (American )video but a great bit of history on the CB1100
The man responsible for the CB1100, Mitsuyohsi Kohama, played major roles in making a number of impressive motorcycles centered around performance a reality at Honda.
This really is my kind of bike 👌
I,m on my second one , had one in UK. I now live in Spain and bought one out here, my mate bought my uk one , too much hassle to export. Superb machine out here , 30 degrees , roads fantastic , real posing bike , draws admirers every time i park up....it's a keeper
Fabulous! My sister lives in Spain; I know exactly what you mean 👍
Love how it sounds like the old air cooled bikes, Iirc Honda used different cam profiles on two cylinders just to achieve that slightly off beat carburetted sound.
Pete D Yes it really sounds good! 👊🏼
This is like a superhero presenting and then his alternative identity takes over.
Split personality disorder!
Kept going back to this review, so bought one. Absolutely gorgeous. Truly stunning.
Great to hear 👍🏼
What really upsets me is that I've just found you guys out this week. Because now I have a whole channel to marathon because your videos are f&$#@ awesome. Congrats on the content mates. Greetings from Brazil 🇧🇷 PS: It's very sad we don't have this bike down here 😢.
Many thanks and welcome to the channel 👍🏼
Hi guys great review. I have a 2018 model in red (but am going to get it sprayed in the 1969 gold candy flake colour) & absolutely love it. IMHO it’s much better than a Triumph T120 or RnineT as the engine is so much smoother & the build quality is sublime 👍🏻
@@MrDarcy-OlMan What do you think of the z900rs?
Just discovered your channel - immediately pressed the Subscribe button after watching this review. I passed the test for my full A licence in January so have resumed the search for my first " big bike" now that we are out of lockdown. Your review of the CB1100 has certainly whetted my appetite!
That’s great Phil! Thanks! The CB is mindblowing! And as we said, it will look after you, but when you have got used to it, it’s phenomenal!
Excellent review, as a result I ended up buying it. Many thanks!!
Wow that’s great! Fabulous bike!!
Great bike and great review...would be excellent a comparative video with the kawasaki z900rs
We’ll see if we can get one 👊🏼 thanks Carlo
Awesome! It’s a fabulous bike! Terrible shame Honda don’t sell it any longer (UK at least)

True !!!
This is the LAST of 4 inline AIRCOOLED engines ever to be made again.
To acheve getting fking E.U. emissions homologation , project manager HAD to invent a dozen of new
ideas-inventions and pattents , to fulfill their stupid demand up until 2024.
Has great ''misfiring'' order sound ... BUT RPM gauge is dead STILL ,
it's a land tractor from 2.500 rpm ( Torque ) ,
handles as an example to the rest ( actually ... not such a thing EXIST as... the ''rest'') ,
88 Hp ''only'' for a purpose ,
( let him search a little , ''they'' are used to fast info's ! )
and honors the best way Mr. Honda for his '67 750 Super Bike
( a term used in US prints 1st time JUST for his work , that bike ).
For 2025,
( although Oil , Marine , Heavy Plastic , and the rest Industries , along with fkers in the Stock Market are INTACT by no special regulation for their ...butts , BUT motorcycle Industrie will always be fked....
So , FK all E.U. morons in their suites !!!!) ,
it's impossible to pass Euro5 stupidity , so , it'll be only for Japan market .
This is The ....last Knight .....
Hence : ...LAST Edition.....
The air-cooled DOHC 4-stroke is a beautiful engine.
Might have messed with centre of gravity too.)
I think the CB1100RS could have used some modern pipes though.

Been drooling over these retro Hondas for nearly two years, unavailable in Australia unfortunately, I even threatened Honda Australia that I would have to buy a Triumph if they didn't start bringing them in, didn't do any good. Excellent review by the way.
Sorry to hear that! Keep trying! Maybe you could import one somehow?
Similarly it is not that difficult to import a Honda motorbike into Australia.
@@johntheaccountant5594 Ok, any good tips for the newbie importer.

You got to be malicious to say anything bad about this bike! I say, it's the most beautiful/sensible bike of all times. I have three bikes already, a Kawasaki Voyager XII, a Triumph America LT and a BMW R9T Pure. I might add this one to make my collection complete.

Hey Van Jazzeen, i was curious if this was your first bike and how you found to ride it? Greetings and best wishes from Austria!
Thanks buddy! Yes it’s a brilliant bike that will take anything you give it. 👍🏼💯
Why is this not available in the USA? Beautiful machine.
Shame really. We say the same about pickup trucks. The ones we have in the UK are nothing compared to what you get
@@MrDarcy-OlMan So true, You can borrow my Ford f-150 Raptor, I’m looking at bikes this weekend.
Because Honda prices them too highly and they don't sell.
Ian Catlin That’s great! Yes the brakes are phenomenal! Apparently black is faster 👊
@@MrDarcy-OlMan also, loved the inspired comedy "reminds me of your mother" ! 😂 On the bike, the thing that I really wasn't expecting, is the sublime handling.
Ian Catlin Got the silver one to match my helmet!

Thanks 333! Great idea, but not easy to get them together but who knows!
Honda have got this one spot on. I want to put that tank on my Triumph.
Chris Yes we agree. It is a beautiful tank from all angles
I think Honda have done a neat job all round. No exposed plumbing or radiator on it either like Kawasaki's Z 900 RS, because this Honda is air/oil cooled. Why don't they make a 750 and 550 version of the EX? That's what they all did back in the day.
Yes it’s awesome. They’d do well to make some more retro styled bikes of smaller capacity for sure.
I have the 2018 black with silver stripes on the sides great bike I love it. I use it as a Sunday bike beautiful sound and looks. Great review guys.
Natalino Tabone Thats great! It sure is a lovely motorcycle 👍
Haha yes! We’ve even got it on a t-shirt now 🤭 Yes you certainly could put your own stamp on it, like you say 👍🏼

MrDarcy & the Ol'Man : great review. How does this bike compare to the CB1000r 2019-2020? We don’t get this one in New Zealand atm
CD T we haven’t ridden any of the older models actually; sorry bro
Would trade in my 2014 CB1100 right now if offered here in Indiana. And I really like my bike, but, DAMN!!!!
Glenn Turnbull Yhanks Glenn. Yes it’s got plenty of room and is certainly bigger than the Triumph.
Thanks fellas, I luv this bike and the EX but we can't get here in Australia, bloody well sux. Even the new Trident we only get the learner legal bike and I'm dam sick of being treated like second class citizen by motorcycle companies.
Really! That sux! Shame
Anyway, loved the review & I noticed you went into things like rider height & ergo's etc.
Regards/Cheers
Nik👍
Thanks for your comments and insight! Lots more to come so thanks for subscribing 👊🏼💯
This bike is a tribute to the time when bikes still looked awesome and were not made of pieces of cheap plastic with a huge liquid radiator at the front.
💯
7:00 lol classic moment 🙂you two are good guys!
Haha thanks! 🙏

As far as I know, you can’t buy the RS version of the bike in the U.S. I’m not sure it meets admission standards. I would love to ship one over from the UK if it’s even permissible.
They have discontinued it here in the uk too now. Big shame
Here in the US they only sold the standard version and the EX.
Looks like a little street twin and an RnineT have beautiful strong motorcycle together 🥰
Genetic motorcycle engineering!
Thanks buddy! Interesting comments 💯👍🏼👍🏼
Like it, as some have mentioned comparable to the Z900RS,although being a Honda less of a hooligan, so it would be OK with a Givi topbox for touring .... yes? I would buy this over a Bonneville.
We think it’s very good indeed. Plenty fast enough! It would be ok with topbox because there’s plenty of room behind.
I just got the 2014 (last year in the us) I love it, it rolls from a stop easy, I have noticed once it's warmed up good, it's easy to kill because it idles so low
Ok great. Oh right 👍🏼
Turn the Idle speed up

Good honest review, very nice bike! Owned a 1974 cb750
Thanks William! Awesome!
The Japanese got the formula right with the UJM across the frame four. People still love the look of my Suzuki GS550, this is a better modern version of that.
Yes absolutely 👍🏼
Ide honestly like to see Honda make a new cb1100 or cb1300 in the current neo-retro style with modern tech and performance. Think it would be a great move and and a little more punch over the current cb1000r. Probably stroke out the current cb1000r motor to give it more punch and torque
It would be interesting to see!
50,000 miles? Surely you're kidding
Like and watch. Nice treat today. Thank you bois!
Thanks Munga 👊🏼 more coming through the pipeline now; at last!
I’ve got a 2014 cb1100 and I love it very smooth and solid bike

Took one on a test ride today, it slowly grows on you....and now I really like it. Completely different from my liquid cooled Triumph, and so much more comfortable. My only concern is its weight ,Although you don't notice that when riding it. Lovely in the corners compared to my 18" tyres on my triumph. I'm seriously thinking of getting one👍
Wolfgamer 123 That’s great! You know you want it! 👍🏼

2nd time iv watched this review its a beautiful bike but never seen one out on road
Yea they’re lovely looking. Unfortunately discontinued in the UK
Had one of these in sights but opted for the cb650r instead. That air cooled 1100 motor sounds superb though
OK that’s interesting. We will be reviewing the CB650R very soon. How do you find it? Maybe the 1100RS could be next for you?
Have a '94 CB1000 which looks almost exactly like this - same tank, cluster, etc.. Only diff is the seat / rear end (prefer the '94), but would love to get this in the US. Thanks also for the height refs. I'm 6'3'' and ergonomics are always a big consideration

EXCELLENT, REALLY EXCELLENT VIDEO!! Got me interested in going for the full license and getting one of these instead of the EX.
"Sounds like your mother" Doubt Mr Darcy will ever un-hear that comment !!!
Wobbly Brother too right, I’m scarred for life!!!
I prefer the EX version but the RS looks super nice in your video, maybe it's the color? Anyways nice review!

Have you guy try after marked exhaust?
I suggest to try a Termignoni
