A few months back I brought myself a 2017 CB1100rs, initially I thought it might be a bit underwhelming at only 88bhp but after riding it for a while I've retuned my brain and riding style to it and I absolutely love it, in the plasticy throw away world we live in the CB feels like it is built to last. Great review, and I'm pleased to see your enthusiasm for this bike. I owned a 2018 CB1100RS and can honestly say it was one of the best of many bikes I've owned over 45 years of riding. Sumptuously smooth, comfortable, looks to die for and possibly the best build quality I've ever seen in a bike.
Andy thanks for this one. Been a massive fan of the CB 1100 for years.. As someone pointed out it’s a bike you’d want to keep for the rest of your life
Hi Andy, thanks for doing this review, I own a 2019 RS version. I love this bike and the story of how Honda brought this air cooled engine back into production 25 years after it stopped making them is interesting (as I understand it they had to bring engineer's back out of retirement to achieve this) , it was a nod to the 750 but they needed to up the displacement to meet Euro 4 standard etc. You're right it's got plenty of torque and it's not intimidating to ride, will cruise all day long but you can still open it up when you need to. It is a heavy bike but typical Honda the weight just disappears when you start riding it. The build quality on mine is lovely, proper old school feel, and a homage to the 1970 bike ❤.
I saw a video of a CB 1100EX presentation, where a Honda guy explained to the press: The young engineers had no idea how the bikes rode and felt back then. So they were allowed to drive CB 750 from the museum before going to the CAD computer
Nice review. I purchased a new '14 model languishing in a showroom in December of '17 in an attempt to capture the magic of my 1975 CB550F purchased new as a senior in high school. I immediately installed a full Arrow exhaust to emulate the Kerker set I had on the old 550. The family DNA is there as you'd expect along with 100 extra pounds and nearly twice the ponies. As the Flyer noted she's a mellow ride for the most part but with the Arrow pipe and a pull to redline in 3rd gear she really comes alive with that 4 cylinder howl of my youth. I can't imagine parting with her as she brings back so many fond memories as we make new ones.
I loved the looks of pretty much every CB that Honda made right through the 70's and 80's and this was a nod to them, truly a beautiful machine. I had the 2018 on my shortlist, but sadly couldn't find one here to sit on, then I fell in love with my Zed. I would have been just as happy with the Honda 👍
I had a 2008 CB1300. I absolutely loved that bike. Loads of low down torque and so easy to ride, with gorgeous red and white paint. I still regret getting rid of it.
I had the first version of this that was released in the UK market in 2013, fantastic bike! I then got a later version of it, the 2018 CB1100EX all lights LED and twin exhausts and glorious Honda deep red paint and spoked wheels deep chrome mudguards, absolutely stunning machine with awsome details, like owning a very expensive rolex watch or something. Lovely looking and a beauty to ride.
Bought my CB1000 big one in 1995 and still own it, its no racer but accelerates like mad, sadly I'm now seventy and my legs have to be in the right mood to ride it these days because it is heavy but no heavier than my 1980 GSX1000ET having said that, fortunately I also have a CB250KO so I'll probably be reduced to riding that for the first time since I bought it in 1973, I'd love one of these CB1100s but I doubt I'll get one now.
Great review, and a bike I have been waiting for you to ride as it often seems to be missed when comparing retro style machines. For me it’s just about the best you can get, as such I have a 2017 CB 1100 EX in yellow and my son has a 2017 CB 1100 RS in red. The two together make a magnificent sight and sound and always create great interest. From a CB1100 fan boy………
I owned a red one for 5 years. Sorry I sold it. Very solid bike. Shifted so precise and great feel to the brakes. Very fun bike to zip around town and back country roads. I got compliments on it every time I rode it.
I had a first gen in red- absolutely gorgeous machine. The engine is truly righteous-a monument to air cooled fours. These bikes are therapeutic to ride- soothing as anything. For some reason, they never caught on in the US (which usually means that they will be future collectables).
What a great looking classic style Honda and for no money too. Review as always spot on. Looks like a new lid you have there too! Keep up the good work.
Love my 2020 CB1100RS,, put it alongside an old CB750 SuperFour and it’s a very authentic retro. The RS gets a more sporting rake and 17s, narrower bars and better Showa suspension, worth a try Andy. Super easy to live with as you say. Pair of Arrows on way 😎 and it does hustle and revs out nice too. If you wind it up it goes but very manageable as you say Andy, a true old school 4banger GT.
This bike strongly echoes the looks from my favourite bike-style decade, the 1970s. I like the Kawasaki Z900RS, but this CB is more authentici especially that air-cooled engine. I am very tempted to get the RS version of the CB1100. Great review as always, hope you can one day find a nice Suzuki GS750 to review - now that is a truly beautiful bike!
I had one for a short time too (2018 model). A great bike, but it's weight was a bit too much for me - not the bikes fault though. It exudes quality in every bit of it. The mild performance (for an 1100) was dented a little by the weight but the handling, brakes and ride quality were superb. Nice review Andy, thanks 👍
@@TheMissendenFlyer ah, but I'm a shortarse, so combined with the weight I found it difficult to push around. Once underway of course the weight isn't an issue as you say. No chicken strips on my CB 👌😂
I have a 2017 cb1100ex in black I think it's the exact model you were riding, so 6 speed, the next model has chrome spokes and an led headlight and they changed the font (a bad decision imo)on the twin dials, I've put a black fly screen on mine and that cuts down the wind blast considerably. Glad you enjoyed the ride, to me it's a modern take on the cb750 from the '70's which is what drew me to it in the first place... thanks for the review...
I have a 1976 CB750F in the garage and have lusted after this more modern and powerful iteration since it was new. Thanks for this review….time to check the classifieds once again!
I owned a (1978) CB750F2 as a teenager in 1981and I loved it, even though it didn't handle or brake too well, plus was soooo heavy for my skinny 17 year old body. LOL. Great machines
Another 'classic review' of a bike that, for me both looks and rides like a bike should. Last rode one about 12 years ago, but would certainly look at one when I come to change my Tiger.
I currently own a 2014 CB1100 DLX myself. Fantastic bike. I also have a 1971 CB750 that my Dad bought new back in the day. I've always felt that the CB1100 is what the CB750 would have morphed into had Honda continued to offer it, along with the expected technical updates along the way. I got to test ride a 2014 DLX back in 2015 and had been on the hunt for one after that experience. I later learned that there were only 300 examples released in the U. S. for this specific model/year. Persistence paid off and I managed to find a lightly used example (3K miles) that I had to have shipped to my location. After riding it several times, the effort felt justified. Loved the ride-along video, but wanted expand on a few points. My DLX has a slightly larger fuel tank (4.6 gal. vs 3.9 for the CB1100 Standard), which provides for a range of about 200 miles. You neglected to note the electronic fuel injection. This is my first bike with EFI and I love it! No choke, cold start issues, just stab the starter button and you're off!. The ABS brakes are superb (another first for me) and have proven to work quite effectively (don't ask). The DLX also has one more gear than the Standard CB1100 (6 instead of the usual 5 speeds). I almost rarely use the 6th gear, but it does smooth things out greatly at higher speeds. The power of the in-line-four is amazing for a standard-style bike. Aggressive launches can & will lift the front wheel if you're not careful! Thanks for spreading the word about one of Honda's little recognized, but true gems!
I have a 14 DLX as well. Got in new in 15. It sat in the local dealership for months. They dropped the price considerably and I bought it on a bit of a whim. I am so glad I did. I've had many bikes over the years and still have a 3 in the garage, but the CB is by far my favorite motorcycle I've ever owned. I can say with confidence, I will never part with this bike.
I’ve always fancied one of these, completely unstressed. You can get a kit from Woodhouse in Japan that basically turns them into a replica of the CB750 from the early 70s.
I love CB1100, but the most beautiful is the first version from 2010-2013. All of them have great, flexible engines, drive easily and give great joy and pleasure while driving. Great bikes.
I can respect your opinion, but I completely disagree with it. The versions after 2013 lost their character, stopped being honest and started pretending to be something they were not. For example, CB1100EX started to look like CZ350 (type 472). Personally, I prefer the first version of this motorcycle. Although this is of course a matter of taste. It would be bad if everyone liked the same thing.
Very nice TMF. I don't really recall this bike as such as I guess I was still in sports bike mode by the time they stopped making it but I appreciate it much more now. Very much enjoy this series on your channel.
Hello Andy...excellent motorcycle and so stunning...trust me when I tell you that it does become a monster when you are in the uppermost rev range but it is a Honda so it putters around quite well also...love to you and your family
I like the video. I have one of these, a 2016. I am only five foot eight and although it’s 250kg, as the weight is down low it’s an easy ride. It has plenty of power and torque but I wouldn’t call it a “massive beast”. (You nailed it later in the review when you said “I thought it was a beast but actually it’s a bit of a puppy”) To me it rides like a learner bike….the weight will not “forgive” like a learner bike but the rest is easy and forgiving with such a lineal power it will give you as much as you can handle….I read somewhere that someone took a bunch of these to a dyno and all were 85-88HP at the rear wheel! If that’s true then this is 105ish HP at the crank (allowing for a 15% difference).
Thanks Andy. I have an in-line four from the seventies in my “stable” but would like something larger and more up-to-date. The CB 1100 has been in the top of that list for a while, and you have confirmed that I need to take one for a spin.
I’m so glad you tested this bike. I had a 66 plate until recently, they are just so nice to look at and both the engine and gearbox are unbelievably smooth. The only reason I sold it was that it was ridiculously heavy, and the weight was held quite high, I was always afraid I would drop it. But it is still a great bike!
Great review, thanks. I too have always liked the look of the CB1100, and I also thought it looked intimidating. 250Kg, I thought, too heavy. So I bought a Speedmaster, 263kg, then a BMW R1250RS, 243kg. Hmm. Great value at £6k. Now if I had a bigger garage...
Had this on the shortlist when looking for a retro classic looking bike in 2019. Loved the looks - but could not get past the fact they were +50kg heavier than the Speedtwin. That’s about 8 stone heavier! And that’s before I put my 97kg on the seat😂. I ended up going with the Speedtwin and don’t regret it at all. But the Honda is still a great looking machine!
Of course the 1200 Speed Twin is the lightest of all the Triumph Retro's (even the Street Twin/Speed Twin 900) which is one of the reasons I bought one - I didn't think the CB felt that much heavier!!
Really do like the CB1100 from Honda, super quality and it looks great. Until you have done this test ride I had totally forgotten about!! I’ll be trying one in the next few weeks for sure. Great job doing this video thanks TMF👍
I own a 2013 standard, with a 5 speed and single exhaust and no ABS brakes. The thing is beautiful, I stare at it all the time even after owning it 4 years. Polishing the gas tank is sickeningly satisfying, the deep red just a stunning sight to behold when done! I may need professional help 😂.!!! Its got plenty of power and its torque curve is flat as hell with tons of it starting at 2500 RPM....Its just there anytime you need it. Im a large person at over 325lbs and it has no problems accelerating up hills starting at 70mph to 95+.....quickly. It is simple, no modes, not much in the way of electronics. All the cost of this bike went into build quality and the use of real metal fenders and other metal parts do give it some heft. I live in the Sacramento area and we had 44 days a year ago over 100 degrees so it is HOT here..... doesnt seem to bother the bikeuch even with the air cooling tho I must admit I try not to ride in triple digit weather. Great bike to own...thanks for the review.
I have a 1972 CB750 and also a 2014 CB1100. vintage is for Keeps, the 1100 is for rides, so much smoother and so much more power. Thanks for doing the video mate
I like these and always wanted to get one when they were released. I think I'll have to revisit one of these again and take a test ride. It's always enjoyable watching your vids and keep up the good work. 👍🏿
Another good review I'm not sure if its my age and the fact I've had many of the original bikes that the retros are based on CB900 CB 500 4 Black bomber and many other Hondas I like the look of the 1100 but have no desire to go back and I love all the technology on some of the new bikes
The CB1100 is one of my favorite bikes; I love the styling. I have a 2021 Moto Guzzi V7, and I think this and the Guzzi are neck and neck for great styling. I think the Guzzi's shaft drive is part of what sold me on it over this.
My first road bike was a Honda CB1300. I regret selling it. I didn't know what I had. I wanted to get a sport bike but I should have just saved up and kept the 13. When the 1100 came out I really like the look but to me the 1300 was the better bike. Plus they look a little more aggressive IMO. Cheers for the content mate 🇦🇺
Hi Mr Flyer. Long time viewer- first time commenter. I own a 2010 model. Cast 18inch wheels 4-1 exhaust (I have a Delkevic full stainless on mine, amazing loud sound). Agree: Dual dials - just a sucker for that. It is a very easy to ride, docile bike for an 1100 (compared to a sports bike of course). It's just effortless to ride and I've done country trips on mine where I've spent literally all day on the bike with no issues. The whole bike is the business. It looks gorgeous (mine is candy apply red) with that engine and styling. It's gorgeous. Thanks for your review. Throughly enjoyed watching it and someone else enjoying these beautiful bikes. 🙂
I used to ride a Honda 400 auto in the 70's, similar look to this one. I was instantly attracted to this when it came out. Apparently much quieter than the GSX 750. I cannot hear the engine on this video. But that is the way I like it!
I wonder if when you got home and walked into your garage you didn't take a look at the Royal Enfield sitting there and wondered if the CB1100 would be better placed? As you said, you don't get engines like that anymore. The CB1100 is a lovely bike that will always age well.
Nice job on the last several bike reviews Andy. I like how you've concentrated on the script and the segues between the riding and walking around the bike.
Back watching this again only a day after I first saw it. Can't believe I'm getting a new bike tomorrow and yet here I am flirting with another. Terrible...but I iust can't get enough of this bike. Great review once again. Thanks.
I desperately wanted this bike but didn't have room to keep it...your review echoes all of the others that I ever saw and read...a truly beautiful machine which deserved to succeed but for some reason didn't...c'est la vie I suppose!
When I passed my test back a few years ago, I was semi interested in a CB1100. It does look lovelly. I never got a test ride. The main thing that put me off was it's weight, plus it doesn't have a Triumph badge ! (surprise surprise !)
Thanks Mr. Flyer. I enjoyed the ride on the big Honda, and what a beauty she looks practically brand new. I have always likes Hondas since my old mate had a CB350 "back in the day" I think this would really eat up those commuting and touring miles. See you next time. :>)
Is that just before the cbx750 came out. My dad has a X reg so 1982 cbx550 and his friend had the cbx750 dad rode that and was blown away by it I did try and get him to buy the 750 as his friend was selling it but no luck unfortunately.
@@chrishart8548 I’m not sure about the X model. I had the CB 750F SuperSport. By today’s standards it wouldn’t be much, but back then it was pretty hot :)
@@Grahamvfr It's my favourite bike night/meet. I ride there from Warwickshire 3-6 times a year, depending on my shifts and the weather. It actually used to be way better attended. About a decade ago I was there one balmy summer evening and a steward I got chatting to told me there were in excess of 3,000 bikes there that night. Nonetheless, it is still a great night, and you certainly get to see all makes and models attending.
If you like that one andy try some of these:- Yamaha xj1300 , Suzuki gsx1400 and most defiantly the Kawasaki ZRX1100/1200 . And remember it not old until you no longer have to pay for the road tax!😉
@@TheMissendenFlyer You definitely should. ZRX1200S is still my favourite bike. Had it since 2003 and used it for touring, commuting, two up days out and even a few Saddlesore 1000s. No electronics and only 5 gears so really old school. I got a Scorpion end can and it sounds great even with the decibel killer fitted. I'd give you a go on it if you weren't so far away. BTW, Kawasaki advise not to use this new E10 fuel in it
I've had 2013 and 2014 models and ridden 5 or 6 seasons with it! Except of it is quite a heavy bike, it is fantastic! 2013 had 5 gear, box one exhaust pipe and smaller tank! 2014 - 6 gears, two pipes, few liters larger tank. Burned the head gasket in the heavy traffic ones, because of the oil cooled engine! Awesome bike and outstanding engine that pulls like a diesel train in any rev range! :-)
YES! I fell for it too and bought one in June, just put up a video as well. Good taste!! Still in production but not here in UK, due to our regulations.
Yes, when we were on tour in Japan last year we saw a number of new CB 1100s parked up at Various biking spots, the new ones look amazing! Enjoy your new bike.
Nice review of a lovely bike. I test rode an RS version with alloy wheels a while back. Loved it but it was a bit tatty & they wouldn’t budge in the price department, so I walked away. I too noticed the vibes when you wound it up on the overtakes but nothing major as you said. I’ll hunt down another RS one day.
What an absolutely lovely bike!! You often say there is no such thing as a perfect bike, for me I think you have almost proved yourself wrong. I loved the symmetry on the bike, twin discs, twin exhausts, twin shocks, twin horns and even twin reservoirs and the engine and downpipes are superb!! Great review Andy, maybe you should give up the ST to make room for one 😀
So glad to see you enjoyed this bike,I have a 2019 cb1100rs in all black. Beautiful bike to ride and look at,also brilliant for a pillion as my lady tells me! So you can take Mrs flyer. Loving your channel.
This is such a beautiful bike, one can look at it for hours! Shortly after it came out Honda had a full write-up on their website detailing the engineering, from the spokes to the design of the cooling fins to produce the characteristic contraction sound as the engine cools down. I'm not a fan of the 4-into-1 alloy wheel version though.
That’s a great looking bike for a retro, well done Honda. Andy, I think you should use that bike for the Distinguished Gentlemans Ride if your doing that this year.
@@TheMissendenFlyer I've ridden one. Plain Jane looks and almost the entire bike is from Honda's 1980's factory. The one to get is the far more advanced Honda CB1300 Four. These still look fantastic even in 2023. Cheers Mr Missenden! Have a great weekend.
Cracking old school bike. Talking of roundabouts , I had the pleasure of arriving for the first time at the ‘magic roundabout’in Hemel Hempstead last week , unbelievable! Didn’t know what was going on ..
i think its great to have some used bike on the channel , i wounder what % of bikes sold are used bikes compared to new bikes but my guess would be there is a lot more used bikes being sold than new bikes so having more used bikes on the channel im sure would get even more viewers on the channel , another great vid
I've always really like these, looks like a real motorbike, unfornatley they don't import them to Australia, they have the later cb 1000r but they just don't have this ageless look, thanks for the review.
What a lovely bike....thanks for the reveiw. There is something special about the any of the big old 4 cylinder bikes. I must admit while I watched you riding and speaking about it, it did seem to me that that I'm kind of surprised you don't have something like it in your garage. For the riding you getbto do for pleasure I would have thought it ticks all the boxes. With limited space what could you swap it for LOL with more space I'm sure you'd have one and many others. Don't think any of us are happy with one bike/style but funds and space usually dictate a compromise. You are a lucky man Andy :-) keep doing....what you're doing.
Suits you that Andy, as you say proper motorbike. These type of bikes have the ability to look good with rider on board. So many modern bikes, look stunning in showroom, then once the rider gets on board (unless it's Kylie) the looks often get ruined. I like these classic type reviews.
I'd buy the new CB1300 Bol Dor if they ever brought it into the country (I had the CB900F back in the day)- I miss the big Honda air\ oil cooled bikes, they were a simple bike to own and ride.
I had one too. Unfortunately, the weight was a bit too much for me when pushing it around - I'm not a very big bloke. And I didn't feel I could be a custodian to all that beautiful alloy and chrome so it didn't get ridden much 😔
The CB750 and the original Z1 were the superbikes of my era in the 70’s and this has so many nods to that era. It’s a lovely thing.

I didn't find the weight that much of an issue - certainly not as much as I thought it was going to be....
@@TheMissendenFlyer ah, but I'm a shortarse, so combined with the weight I found it difficult to push around. Once underway of course the weight isn't an issue as you say. No chicken strips on my CB 👌😂
Always loved this model, it’s a shame that it was discontinued.
The 70s CB750F….now that’s a bike!
My pleasure!
We are similar😊 I have a 2014 CB 1100, a 1972 and a 1975 CB750
I’ve always fancied one of these, completely unstressed. You can get a kit from Woodhouse in Japan that basically turns them into a replica of the CB750 from the early 70s.
Nobody builds a big 4 like Honda! That is a beautiful bike!
I love CB1100, but the most beautiful is the first version from 2010-2013. All of them have great, flexible engines, drive easily and give great joy and pleasure while driving. Great bikes.
For me the best looking version is the 14 CB1100 DLX. The 4 into 2 exhaust just looks right.
Cracking bike Andy, and for 6 grand i don,t think it could get any better than this. It will tour or be a good sunday morning machine, Superb.
Gorgeous piece of machinery this is! Definitely on my radar as a replacement for my NT700.
Couldn't agree more!
I’ve had my eye on one of these for a while now love the old CB1100 they’re just lovely looking and plenty of manageable grunt.
My pleasure!
Nine years old and still a stunning motorcycle!
2nd lat day of the year, I had a look on eBay and Auto trader...every one has really low mileage
Own a 2013 CB1100 in red. Always enjoy the ride and gets more looks than my riding mates BMW's where ever we go😅. Glad you finally got to ride one!
Me too!
Morning Andy, nice bike, reminds me of my buddies early gold wing.
KZ 1000 we’re still in production up till early 00.
Thanks for dropping by!
I have a 1972 CB750 and also a 2014 CB1100. vintage is for Keeps, the 1100 is for rides, so much smoother and so much more power. Thanks for doing the video mate
Really was my pleasure - thanks for watching!
Great bike, just bought one off a mate. Best bike I’ve ridden. Comfortable, controlled power and looks great .
I like these and always wanted to get one when they were released. I think I'll have to revisit one of these again and take a test ride. It's always enjoyable watching your vids and keep up the good work. 👍🏿
Thank you - much appreciated!
Another good review
I'm not sure if its my age and the fact I've had many of the original bikes that the retros are based on CB900 CB 500 4 Black bomber and many other Hondas
I like the look of the 1100 but have no desire to go back and I love all the technology on some of the new bikes
Good review of a great looking bike. They're much nicer to ride than the air cooled fours of the 70s and 80s. Cheers for the ride.
Really as my pleasure this one Splodge..
The CB1100 is one of my favorite bikes; I love the styling. I have a 2021 Moto Guzzi V7, and I think this and the Guzzi are neck and neck for great styling. I think the Guzzi's shaft drive is part of what sold me on it over this.
How did they compare? I am cross shopping those two as well. I would think the CB would be way faster, right? The Guzzi does look awesome!
My pleasure!
It's a lovely but of kit isn't it - thanks for watching and for stopping by at last! Don't be a stranger....
Hmmm! CB1100 looks well tasty & a proper proper motorbike. Currently have downsized to a CB500x but now want one of those again. 😪
I bought a black 2020 CB1100RS last year and love it, definitely a keeper.
Nah - I love my Enfield!
I own a 1980 honda cb650c only 6500k on it great old bike. that 2014 fits the style nice bike. cheers.
It looks amazing. In a way it is similar to the Yamaha XJR 1200/1300. So classy! The minus is only the weight. :) Got my like, just like always.
Thank you
I've always loved the idea of the CB1100, definitely on my list to tick off!
Nice job on the last several bike reviews Andy. I like how you've concentrated on the script and the segues between the riding and walking around the bike.
Really glad you noticed the change in style!
God I love that bike. I was so sad when they stopped selling it in Canada.
I'd still like to have one but they are rare
Thanks for the nostalgia; my first big bike was an in-line air-cooled four (1984 CB 750). Nothing like it for smooth power delivery. Thanks again.
Cool - and my pleasure as ever!
Well mr flyer you’ve done it again. got myself a nice red one today. Absolutely love it.
Cool!
Back watching this again only a day after I first saw it. Can't believe I'm getting a new bike tomorrow and yet here I am flirting with another. Terrible...but I iust can't get enough of this bike. Great review once again. Thanks.
Welcome to my world!
Thanks for reviewing the CB1100EX, I`ve been thinking of buying one for a while - I need to get a test ride on one! :)
Beautiful looking bike and great engine. Would def have in the garage as well. Timeless good looks👍
A couple of years ago Came so close to buying one. Maybe one day in the future. A stunning motorcycle.
Thanks Mr. Flyer. I enjoyed the ride on the big Honda, and what a beauty she looks practically brand new. I have always likes Hondas since my old mate had a CB350 "back in the day" I think this would really eat up those commuting and touring miles. See you next time. :>)
Absolutely beautiful bike. I had a 1981 CB 750 many years ago, loved that one too!
One of my favourite modern classic machines. Perfect for Poole Quay on a hot summer Tuesday evening.....
Sounds good to me!
Stumbled across Poole bike night last summer, 1 night stop over before ferry wed morning. What a fantastic venue, and it was a beautiful evening.
Yes I went there on my Street Triple when I first bought it - fun night....
@@BibtheBoulder unfortunately just a bit too far from teesside haha.
You can hear the engine through the helmet.... Just!... Lovely and smoooooth as usual for Hondas. What a Gorgeous machine all round!
Couldn't agree more!
Just love those old school CB’s mate. And it’s got a gear shift indicator to boot🤨
If you like that one andy try some of these:- Yamaha xj1300 , Suzuki gsx1400 and most defiantly the Kawasaki ZRX1100/1200 . And remember it not old until you no longer have to pay for the road tax!😉
I have ridden the Yamaha but the Suzuki is defo on the list.....must look up the big Kwak
BTW, Kawasaki advise not to use this new E10 fuel in it
Agreed. Have owned both a ZRX1100 and a Yamaha1300, in the late 90's/early 2000's. Both awesome machines.
Yes a lovely bike for sure....
Witch one did you prefer?
Yes, nice bits of kit these…
What an absolutely lovely bike!!
It's a thought!! ....although I do love the ST...
So glad to see you enjoyed this bike,I have a 2019 cb1100rs in all black.
Beautiful bike to ride and look at,also brilliant for a pillion as my lady tells me! So you can take Mrs flyer.
Loving your channel.
Glad to hear that - thanks!
I always liked the CB1100RS very reminiscent of the CB400 Super Four from the 90s.
Be nice to hear about that one too.
Great looking bike. They weight always put me off a bit (tight garage space) but it sounds like it might not be a big problem
No it surprised me - not as heavy as it looks/sounds in reality....
It definitely looks like it belongs in the 70s or 80s, all except for the colour. No one had black bikes back then - what a shame it's not gold 🤔
This engine is from the early 80's. Same engine factory in Japan.
That’s a great looking bike for a retro, well done Honda. Andy, I think you should use that bike for the Distinguished Gentlemans Ride if your doing that this year.
Yes wouldn't that be fun!
I own the rs version, test ride against a z900rs and the Honda is a better road bike in my opinion.i don't think I will ever sell it.
Very nice TMF. Some soft luggage and a short screen would make that a nice touring bike. Thanks again.
Thanks for your impressions on this beautiful old school bike, I thoroughly enjoyed it, and was not surprised by the way it performed. Smashing.
Thanks for watching Andrew!
@@TheMissendenFlyer I've ridden one. Plain Jane looks and almost the entire bike is from Honda's 1980's factory. The one to get is the far more advanced Honda CB1300 Four. These still look fantastic even in 2023. Cheers Mr Missenden! Have a great weekend.
you too....
@@TheMissendenFlyer Oh I will!
Cracking old school bike.
Talking of roundabouts , I had the pleasure of arriving for the first time at the ‘magic roundabout’in Hemel Hempstead last week , unbelievable! Didn’t know what was going on ..
Yes you can always spot the visitors on that one....
Been eyeing up that exact bike this week to use as a two up tourer.
Very low miles. Nice one Andy.
👍
Get in there quick 'cos I'm very tempted!
i think its great to have some used bike on the channel , i wounder what % of bikes sold are used bikes compared to new bikes but my guess would be there is a lot more used bikes being sold than new bikes so having more used bikes on the channel im sure would get even more viewers on the channel , another great vid
That was my thinking hence this series!
Great review and great bike. Had this bike on my list on 2019 when I bought my z900rs.
I've always really like these, looks like a real motorbike, unfornatley they don't import them to Australia, they have the later cb 1000r but they just don't have this ageless look, thanks for the review.
Thank you for watching and for stopping by!
Thanks and will do - and yes, more space and I'd have bought this in a heartbeat....lovely machine!
Suits you that Andy, as you say proper motorbike.
These type of bikes have the ability to look good with rider on board. So many modern bikes, look stunning in showroom, then once the rider gets on board (unless it's Kylie) the looks often get ruined. I like these classic type reviews.
Hmm Kylie on a bike, there's a pleasant thought.....
That bike bro! AMAZING! Its looks better in black than in red.
Yes it’s a cool thing isn’t it….
I bought my Street Triple from SBF in Macclesfield, they have a massive selection of bikes.
I'd buy the new CB1300 Bol Dor if they ever brought it into the country (I had the CB900F back in the day)- I miss the big Honda air\ oil cooled bikes, they were a simple bike to own and ride.
I just pick up 2013 CB1100 I'm quite pleased with it
Nice , always wanted one as a summer only bike
You forgot to scream "first"...well done you.
I had one too. Unfortunately, the weight was a bit too much for me when pushing it around - I'm not a very big bloke. And I didn't feel I could be a custodian to all that beautiful alloy and chrome so it didn't get ridden much 😔
I really like that bike. I might have to test ride one. It would be nice to see you test old hondas like the RC45.
