Here's a quick review of the MK3 chassis produced by Sureshot Armament Group USA. In Žiga's opinion this is the best AK chassis available on the market. It's relatively simple to install and it provides a rigid structure to mount optics, lasers and other accessories on the AK platform. The chassis provides a free floating platform with a removable front handguard that retains zero. Main top rail is designed to be in line with the barrel and can host different kinds of light and medium weight optics (primarily red dots, holographic sights and prisms). The rear railed portion of the dust cover is removable to facilitate easy and unobstructed rifle disassembly. Because of this feature the rear railed cover does not retain zero and is only appropriate to host a magnifier and not main aiming optics.
The proprietary gas tube is connected to the upper part of the chassis only on one point and gives a a free floating functionality to it with added bonus of limited heat transfer. This allows the user to mount optic or other devices on the upper rail above the gas tube without the fear of heat damage.
Overall this Sureshot Armament Group MK3 is the best AK chassis system on the market today.

Great video and enjoyed the closer look at it. Also, this channel has a lot of humor integrated into the information. If some viewers weren't regular viewers of Forgotten Weapons and Polenar, I could see the misunderstanding. Personally, I really enjoy the comedy of this channel, but there are many in this culture that just can't understand when a joke is being told.

@@Shark-sh0tBut ARs (and most other rifles with upper-lower design, like the FN FAL) are more suitable for mounting such rails, without serious modifications and/or interfering with the gun's disassembly process.

You need to checkout a Bravo 18 AK. Handguard doesn't touch barrel nor gastube, similar to the Galil Ace 2.
Pour infos les Spetnaz préférent largement ce genre de kit sur AKM-S, AKM-S 74, AK103, plutôt que les AK-18 malgrés les 3 versions modernisées de celui-ci... Vraiment configurer de la sorte l'AKM n'a pas à rougir de son homologue AR... One thing I’ve noticed while using mine is that while the hand guard itself does a good job of dissipating heat, the factory lower handguard retainer does not. This can be a problem because at least on the US version, that lower handguard retainer protrudes into the sureshot handguard and has scalded my palm on a few occasions
This reminds me of a metal pin that goes through an AK47 wooden handguard - i burned my hand like that multiple times 😆
On this Saiga Mk-102 i removed the lower handguard retainer for this reason
I'm pretty sure that removing all factory furniture but the gas block from the barrel is standard procedure for installing SAG chassis, and was since Mk0.
@@BlackBladeGroM the MK3 can be installed on a stock rifle with the handguard retainer still attached
@@PolenarTacticalyes I installed my ak103 with the lower hand guard retainer in place. But now I have this on my ak102 and I removed it to make my life easier 😂
This would be perfect if you could mount other optics other than a rds and magnifier or lpvo with rear sweeping mount which they seem to have done although Im not sure.
This kind of kills the utility of a rail like this to me because of that, I like my prism optics

Mine also moves a lot. I guess it depends on how it's mounted and maybe needs some custom fitting. AK vary a lot from manufacturer to manufacturer

What are your thoughts on the Holosun AEMS? I recently got mine to replace the Vortex UH-1 Gen 2 and am still testing.
I'm still getting used to how boxy it looks but it's a good optic. Wide field of view with minimal distortion

It's awesome! Lightweight, rock solid, retains zero, no mods to the AK like removal of stock sights (as with TWS dog leg) required - just replaces stock dust cover.
Way back i tried it and it wasn't retaining zero. We tried everything - even ratcheting to exact number of click every time. If we removed the cover and put it back on, zero shifted up to 10 moa
Could be that it was a very first version and they have maybe improved the design

AK Operators Union sells a gasket that slips over the back of the take down button that blocks the gasses from making your eyes water and gagging you out. It's a cheap upgrade that really helps.

I wish I could get my hands on the Russian one in the US, tbh. my understanding is that the US one is a proprietary handguard, but the Russian one uses ACR handguards, and I'd like that ability to seek other options.
As someone who owns a US Mk3, my understanding is that the US one accepts ACR handgaurds and the Russian one has its own proprietary handgaurd.
confirm the USA one can use ACR handguards. The tri-rail ACR handguard even fits the chassis if you want a quad rail AK lol

@@PolenarTactical for example in your last year finnish brutality video when you running that was clear that your cummerbands are dangling and pc is just hanging on your shoulders. That's the problem that is seen in many of your videos. So I'm asking why don't you use some structural pc to avoid that problem

For me it's much more important to distribute the weight than to breath totally free. Because in your option pc will just jump on your shoulders as a bag with potato. For me it's terrible and, perhaps, it's one of the reasons of your kneeache at the end.
Meanwhile, the AVS is breathable and structural in a same time. I've used a lot of pcs in my civilian life and my duty. So I've never worn more functional pc than the AVS. And that's not the advertisement. I'm fist think that combination of breathability and structure is the most important things for pc. So just try it, if you want
