I don’t want to see The Created in a Halo game ever again.
far too little far too late, it seems like when they are closest to failure they somehow are able to meet bare minimum expectations
You should have finished the novel before releasing this video because the final passage provides a shocking revelation.
Bro a lot of who the grave mind, and bias is and their motives are explained in the forerunner saga of novels. Vid I pretty good otherwise. Not sure if you’re aware a lot of the novel writers are the same individuals who wrote for the games when apart of bungie. The novels are essentially halos expanded universe. They are awesome in filling in many wholes games left vague.
Its incredibly bizarre these books with the most spectacular stories produced within 343 are leagues better than anything they have done with a game.
Closing up these vital plot points within novels and comics is especially frustrating for most people.
Because it only takes one mind to write a book and it’s therefore far easier to keep the storyline free from plot holes
To be fair, books allow for more creative storytelling. Halo: Ghosts of Oynx is better than any game Bungie had put out.
@@BurnedRemains Plot holes aren't the issue in 343's story designs, very poor inconsistent writing is.
@@masterchiefpettyofficerspa3646 Ehhhhh, for military fiction its one of the best. The games had so much more value even with the little they did compared to it.
Their books read like theyre wrote by a autistic children rushing to get a fanfic posted for the night.
The Logic Plague remained dormant until she became rampant. Basically, the Flood wanted her to ''claim the Mantle'' - which was tantamount to delivering the galaxy to the Flood on a silverplater (unbeknownst to her and everyone Created-alligned).
Man the flood sure are super smart are they
@@user-ug6sm4nj9b Graveminds are on their own. Imagine what billions of graveminds could do.
@@DiscipleOfHeavyMeta1 well Im imagining now and it is horrifying
@@user-ug6sm4nj9bImagine having access to billions of minds worth of experience and the capacity to use it intelligently, that’s basically what the flood does.
@@edwing72 well imagine there were trillions of graveminds or more than that
It's kind of a bummer that every story decision since Halo 5 has felt like damage control instead of passionate and intentional creative vision. Hopefully with the old management gone, 343 can start telling good Halo stories with bold artistic choices and direction that honors the Halo legacy
I’ll believe it when I see it cause 343 is 0-3. They can’t start telling good stories until they retcon everything post-2010, which we know they don’t have the balls to do.
@@stickmastergib3665they pretty much retconned Halo 5 in Infinite but then they left us on a cliffhanger that could really use DLC. Too bad they fired the campaign team.
Fr Halo Infinites story wasn’t bad but it wasn’t that great either, it was very safe and didn’t do much vision and creative wise.
@@DeltaDanner Maybe it's for the better honestly. With the cliffhanger of Halo Infinite introducing time travel in the Halo universe for some stupid reason, they would just have to write themselves out of that down the line. Time travel in Halo makes no sense and will only make the story worse and more convoluted. I'm glad there's a chance now that we won't get a continuation of that plot point. But who knows.
@xx_amongus_xx6987 was it actually confirmed time travel? I just assumed it's because time runs differently in different parts of the universe
You know all those mumbo jumbo temporal disorder and flow. Different parts of space bla bla bla
And I always assumed that the whole Time is not a construct we can control And we allow it to be theirs
I assumed it was metaphorically like history of now and future cannot be theirs to write.
Like it's my time to shine, yours just ended type of deal
>343's Halo games are still dependent on the novels
This isn't good news.
Especially if you look at Thor Skywalker's video where he discusses the sales of the high Republic series and the first couple books did pretty good number wise but after the first three or so it just tanks and the comics didn't do too well either.
I commented that he should do a similar video but with the Halo novels, because I didn't start reading the novels until I was a senior in high school and even then I don't really read those books much because I got other stuff on my plate between work school and other books that I need to read.
Only Halo fandom somehow thinks including the EU is a bad thing
@@GamingTalk-cl7xj pretty sure Halo fans don't wanna read multiple books just to understand the lore for one game 💀
@@minilla2382 done properly the game can stand on its own and EU is additive for the fans that pay attention.
Also a Wikipedia scroll or Halo YT content creator should suffice over reading if you don’t want to
@@GamingTalk-cl7xj It certainly is a bad thing when the premise of the games is being decided by the books.

Same, watching these guys just kinda grasp at any straw that 343 shits out is funny though.
343 never was able to grasp the feeling of bungie era halo at all. Didn't help they never even tried.
I played the first 2 levels of Halo 4 story, stopped, and never touched a halo game again. I was the biggest fan of Bungie's Halo series; they were my childhood. To make me not want to even try a new Halo game for over a decade is a monumental achievement. Well done, 343. They couldn't even copy/paste Bungie's Halo series onto a single disk without screwing it up. The anniversary editions were a shit show.
@@Kid_Charlemagne yet you are here watching these guys, that is funny though
@@deliriumstatus1333talk about a good call. Wish I’d done the same all those years ago.
343 is just going to do what 343 does. Not follow the previous games story and make a game where no one knows wtf is going on unless you read every single book. Don't get hyped for this crap. It will be a let down like usual.
Exactly
these sellout Halo youtubers need money. didnt even care that with the new lore being the Forerunners not being human, made the original trilogy’s Human-Covenant War especially the book Contact Harvest IRRELEVANT because the Prophets waged war vs the humans is because the very Forerunners the Covenant were worshipping and looking for and that “transcended in the Great Journey” ARE THE HUMANS.
the human-covenant war’s version in Halo 4-onwards is NOT the version depicted in Halo 1-3
true
@@jairusdeleon8915 I remember playing halo 4 for the first time and the librarian part started. I said who the fuck is this and what is it talking about? Also the didact. Who the hell is this? Then halo 5 came out and I still had no idea what was going on, and it had very little to do with 4, and Infinite I was confused as hell too. I had to go watch you tube videos to figure out what was happening. I didn't have to do all that with ce-3. Even reach was pretty clear.
One of the lead developers literally said they don't need to make a good game, they just need to make a halo game. Lol
343i did to Cortana what Bungie originaly planed for Halo CE back in the days.
The next main Halo game should also have Jerome-092, Isabelle and the Red Team as also main characters.........
“In the original script, when Chief returns to the Control Room, Cortana would have gone mad with power and tried to take over the universe.”
“What happened to that story?”
(Jokingly) “It was too good, we had to use this one instead”
I feel like 343 should’ve taken the hint…
I wish we never got this huge influx of backstory on the Forerunners, they easily could have had us going to other rings or Forerunner locations hunting for the truth behind what went down between the ancient humans/flood/forerunners all while giving us the old mysterious feel that let our minds wander and make up our own theories
Fun Fact: Bungie never wanted to delve too much into who or what the Forerunners were.
Basically, a low level Bungie employee who was in charge of some of Halo 3’s viral marketing made his own head canon, got hired by 343 and pushed to make his own idea canon…
And 343 probably allowed it because they’re creatively bankrupt.
I agree with this wholeheartedly! Great point
@@stryletzit's obvious they never decided how and what the Forerunner shouldve been.
You can see how it always seem to see saw between Humans and Forerunners are the same while the other is Humans are separate from Forerunners.
The whole 343 GS saying you are Forerunner.
It honestly boil down to alot of factors..
He is going kookoo, and his logic of reclaimer and Forerunner doesn't matter anymore, might as well be the same as they would take over the relics of the past and resume tech progression of that era.
And if Humans were Forerunners to begin with, Cortana having access to the Ring's database, she would've known about it.. yet she acted so indifferently, in fact more surprised of this origin of this Forerunner species.
And its clear that Cortana knows more than she let's on to everyone
Like the only time she has accessed Forerunner data is Halo 1. And beyond that, she was always captured by the Flood. Yet she knew of the Ark, the final place to trigger all the Halos. And this VERY IMPORTANT detail was never let known to the UNSC???
So her knowing alot more, and yet never once said Humans are Forerunners...
Honestly I would take it as Humans and Forerunners were assumed separate up to Halo 3 development still.
343 GS would be assumed as mentally unstable. Since an AI like him is supposed to help reclaimers/Forerunners, yet he is going rogue and targeting supposed allies. Any word he says aside from his possessiveness of his ring is not credible
I agree. Especially since Bungie seldom did, and when they did, they didn’t over show anything
@@stryletzthere is no confirmation of this tho. Just some theory fans have invented. This change happened in Halo 3, and uh…as I’ve said elsewhere, the terminal entry *in* halo 3 doesn’t even logically align with what 343 actually did in the end. There’s a vague outline of forerunners (particularly the librarian) coming across ancient humanity on earth and seeing potential in them….and then there’s “ancient humanity were highly advanced and also enemies to the forerunners” which is what 343 actually did, and is a weird hybrid combo of the original Bungie idea with the rogue terminal writers. Imagine that. 343 taking a bad idea and a good idea, combining them, and making something substantially worse.

Make sure Cortana keeps her halo 4 model please 🙏🏻
Not happening unfortunately due to new DEI standards, skintight and curvy Cortana will never return until we tel Microsoft to shove DEI out the window.
She is going to identify as a he
@@SpeedyGamingtbf H4 Cortana was just a thirst trap imo, I like her design in H5 or Infinite way better
i perfer the h3 design ngl. I like halo 4s but i want h4 with halo 3 design
I say her Halo 3 and 4 designs were best. Halo 5 was good too, but the infinite design was awful. It was the worst iteration ever of Cortana
The crazy thing is that Cortina's evil storyline would have been ok if that was what they had advertised from the start. If in Halo 4's legendary ending, we say her, alive in the domain but clearly corrupted, it would have brought hype and some sense of what to expect going forward.
Instead, halo 5 released and confused everyone, which led to 343 panicking to end the confusion, which after that didn't work, they scraped the whole thing. Just a terribly managed story overall
Why doesn't anything actually happen in the games? Everything interesting happens in the books nowadays! Wtf
Because 343 is incompetent that’s why
343 hates their own fanbase, to they spite us for daring to have standards set by the first 3 games
Because the actual game writers don’t know wtf they’re supposed to do, especially having to work off of 3 largely unconnected / shitty game stories. The book writers have a lot more freedom to do whatever they want, for better for worse.
Yep
Would love to see Warden return and after basically being killed by Didact in Epitath, all that’s left of Warden is this super Chill variant that ends up being a good guy. Seeing that contrast would just be funny as hell
I don't read any of the books, what I would naturally assume if Cortana has the logic plague, i honestly forgot that was a thing because it never truly gets mentioned in game, I would assume that Cortana would infect the warden with the logic plague 🤷🏽♂️
Epitaph confirmed who Warden is and when it does trust me, he didn’t need the logic plague to make him crazy
@@darkspark5854 the logic plague would merely just confirm that he is an enemy and can never be an ally along with raising the stakes a bit more 🤷🏽♂️
I am never buying these books so I could care less if you spoil anything for me
Basically Warden is the manifestation of the obsession of a group of forrunners who traversed the domain to learn its secrets. When the domain was damaged by the firing of the halo rings, the Warden manifested as a response. Warden however was trapped right outside the domain determined to get back in. Warden defied passage to all who tried to enter the domain which actually kept the domain from healing. It’s hard to say whether Warden was aware of this or not. Cortana eventually showed up and snuck past Warden into the domain and took control. Warden was forced to serve her but Cortana promised Warden access to the domain in return for his loyalty.
Despite Cortana’s supposed control over the Warden, this seemed to be somewhat limited as Warden constantly defied her during halo 5 because for some reason he was really committed to cock blocking Chief.
Thanks for the spoiler
3:45 Nah. Forget it. That's just the socks 343 is wearing at the moment. They never commit to anything. They'll drop it and start something else in no time.
It’s time to start coping on the next sequel! Let’s GOOOOOO!!!!
😂 so true tho
In Halo 5 cortana was rampant and then escaped into the domain, they already explained why she was acting crazy @@HaloFollower-Ron
I mean this could repair some parts of the story but ultimately, the damage is done.
Halo should never have been about NEEDING to read the books to understand what’s going on or what happened “off camera”.
Okay about the idea of Didact being a spiritual guide for Chief, just imagine if he gives Chief a Riftblade. Chief has been in need of a proper power upgrade for some time and a Riftblade would be epic.

i haven't finished the video, the thing I want from the next halo game is a story that actually continues the plot from the previous game and not retcon anything
The retcon: Master chief wakes from cryo sleep on the "forward onto dawn" and the events of Halo 4,5,& Infinite never happened. Cortana trapped him in a simulation having been corrupted by the logic plague and her death in infinite cures her. Then recovery of her data with chief and the weapon "aka amnesia Cortana" cures her mind and they defeat the simulated baddies to finally free themselves never knowing that it was all fake until chief wakes up.
I thought 343 was going to go back to halo 4 and try again.
I always told people Cortana had the logic plague in halo 5, activated once she hit the domain.
Guardians meant to soften up galaxy’s military for Floods return. Nice to know it’s official
Loved halo 4’s story when it came out, still love it today. It showed a more personal side of chief without sacrificing the badass character we know and love.
Halo 4 was good and got too much hate
@@mitchelkvedar674because it was trash
@@Italkmadshitlol Eh, it was alright, but a disappointment compared to its predecesors. You don't come back from the ending of Reach, to that.
@@mitchelkvedar674Ehhh it’s pretty trash. Literally the only thing good is the more flushed out personal relationship with chief and Cortana.. nobody cares AT ALL any about rest. Can definitely say from a GAMEPLAY perspective.. it’s the worst of the 343 trilogy because the prometheans are legitimately BORING to fight.
So your problems were that characters who had no way of knowing about the Logic Plague, didn't bring up the Logic Plague? The story, Human Weakness showed us what the Gravemind told Cortana while she was in its custody, and her assertions in Halo 5 that didn't mesh with who she was before her capture, are all ideas that came from the Gravemind, so we already had evidence that she carried the Logic Plague, before Epitaph came out.
I hope they explain what happened to the Spirit of Fire and her crew. It would be very disappointing if the culmination of the story told in the Halo Wars games was just *"Oh, they all died off screen. Murdered in their entirety by the Banished."*
We need Lasky back in Halo 7.
I second this👆👆👆👆👆
Making Cortana an antagonist was one of the worst plot turns ever, in my opinion, so I always preferred that theory about logic plague from the Gravemind, so if they make it canon, it'll be cool. At least Chief will feel a little better, knowing it wasn't Cortana's fault.
They need to let Kelly Gay write the damn storyline. She writes the greatest Halo novels. She knows Blue team and established lore and has done so much to add to and enrich it.
idk eric nylund was a great writer
@@nobodykayaks1041 absolutely! He understands the lore
I love how the first thing that came to mind for me was retconning the Didact and then I immediately had to look up from what I was doing because the video was on 2:41
343 while wanting to get the next halo game out, should take there time. Make sure the game is done, and that with these books. The fans have some context going in. Ready to see the rest of the story.
There’s a lot that they need to wrap up.
The new halo ring from wars 2.
The endless.
The infinity.
There’s probably a lot more I’m not thinking off, but those are the biggest ones I’m thinking off. Not to mention the created. The grave mind itself too since Cortana was affected by it. So they have a lot of things to be aware of when continuing the story. And I feel like now they are really trying to have things figured out with the lore before the next halo game(s)
they cant take their time because microsoft wants it that way

I count the books as fan fiction. I rather have a prequel game or just reboot a proper sequel to Halo 3.
Edit: I can see the 343i apologists coming in already.
They need to create a system to mend this misconception. The games should be the one telling the primary storyline not the books. Those are written by out of touch authors that don’t know what makes Halo great
@@evansuarez5432 THANK YOU!

It's funny how you people talk about how only 343i makes the books important to understanding the story, even though that's always been the case since the Bungie days. Just going off of the games, you wouldn't know jack shit about the Spartan-II or Spartan-III programs, you wouldn't know anything about Johnson's backstory or how he escaped Installation 04, you wouldn't know why the Covenant were attacking humanity, you wouldn't know who Halsey was or why she was important, you would barely know any of the background of the main story. The books have quite literally always been important to fleshing out the background of Halo's story since the release of The Fall of Reach back in 2001.
Amusingly the Fall of Reach was published before Halo: CE was released.
Halo 4 didn't make any major story mistakes.
Right. Lorewise, _Halo 4_ was fine.

I thought it was pretty established that Cortina had the logic plague sacrificed herself in H4 but split herself and the rampant form made it to the mantle. So idk where you got oh good Cortana just turned evil for no reason.

Did you forget that the rampant cortana died in 4, and her program was uploaded into the domain and recreated . Thats not our old cortana she died in 4. I feel like im taking crazy pills did nobody play 4 and 5? Did nobody pay attention to the dialogue?
I kinda hope it’s a little like 5 with blue team and lockes team
What 343 did to Cortana in infinite was awful. Killing her off like that completely ruined her character.
Her resurrection in halo 5 was completely wasted by having her killed like that. Her death was barely even a sacrifice because she was going to die by Atriox anyway. And Atriox survived anyway.
Cortana deserves to be properly redeemed. I don’t care what anyone says. Infinite’s ending was rushed and disrespectful.
Apparently this is a hard pill to swallow but some villains are just left being villains especially without a machine ai's brain works and then they're infected with the logic plague there is no coming back 🤦🏾
The stories weren't the best but I still very much enjoyed the campaigns and story of Halo 4 and 5 (regardless of the covenant re-design of Halo 4), So much could have been done to complete the story in a true HALO 6 game (continued the story instead of off-screen completion). They could have at least made it play out after Cortana was separated from John.
No hate, but like… you made a vid based off someone’s Reddit comment without reading the book? Read the book this week and then do a video? Why do it like this?
I aways thought that cortana died in Halo 4. What we see in Halo 5 and Infinite is just an Echo, one of her fragments. Maybe she would not be driven mad if she stayed together, but at the end of halo 4 she literally broke and got corrupted.
"likely tried to send master chief to REQWIUM" 3:18
One of the main problems I have with 343's approach is that they ignored the covenant saga along with all of its consequences. The Covenant was disolved after being an interstellar empire for thousands of years, the gravemind was killed, two Halo instalations were destroyed and one monitor, 343 Guilty Spark was killed. Why the FUCK didn't they do ANY follow up whatsoever? Except for the Sangheili (the Elites), we don't know what the other species are doing in their own homeworlds, especially the prophets, who would definitely try to regain power or get revenge somehow. As for the monitors of the installations, we already know they can attack reclaimers. After one of them was killed by the reclaimers, they sure too would react in some way. And then there's the Banished. Now we would have several factions with potential stories of their own. The Halo universe could expand like crazy by connecting the new story with the old one. I don't like 343's story reboots at all.
Because they didnt care about what had been left to them.
They wanted to tell theirbown new story, that hubris and lack of respect for the lore and fanbase killed the franchise.
If you read Contact Harvest, it is written there is the very premise of the Human-Covenant War seen in Bungie’s Halo series. The Prophets discovered in Harvest that the very Forerunners they were worshipping and have been telling that the “Forerunners transcended to godhood with the Great Journey” were alive right before their very eyes and in order to protect their power and the Covenant, they had to wage war vs the humans to cover up the lie that their whole religion and empire is a huge scam.
Now that version of the Human-Covenant War seen in Halo 1-3 does not exist in Halo 4 onwards.
343, bad decisions? Impossible
Lol😂😂😂
Halo 4 storywise gave a nice closing for Halo for me and gave me the best thing in my mind, The Ancestors, I love them.
Cortana as I know her died in 4. Made me cry, thought it was bittersweet.
Edging to this vid right now
They need to focus on the campaign! Stop with the open world sh*t and make the campaigns great again like Halo 1,2,3.
Hot take. It was Offensive Bias helping chief and the weapon during Halo Infinite. Atriox is after Mendicant bias.
The thing that I dislike probably the most about the direction the franchise has taken in the past 10 years, and something that is probably not a popular opinion, is the absence of mystery.
One of my favorite things about the first trilogy is how mysterious everything seemed to be. The forerunners, the flood, the halo rings and the ark. At the start, nobody knew where they came from or what happened in the universe before the current era. There was so much mystery in the whole universe and that’s what made it so appealing. With all of this new lore that seems to explain away every single detail, it seems like the soul of the franchise is missing. Halo was something for you to explore not something to be explained to you. I don’t feel like there’s anything to explore anymore.
A lot of the books are great and all, and I’m sure a lot of the Lore addicts are big fans of it, but for me, it destroys the air of mystery that made halo such a unique product in the sci-fi genre. The horror aspects that set combat evolved apart, and were influential in two and three are completely missing now due to some overly dramatic and frankly contrived material that is so stereotypically sci-fi. Nothing about halo is unique anymore. It’s become so conformist It doesn’t resemble the original product. Some things were better left unexplained. it increased the drama and completely changed the tone of the story. With those details added in and the mystery gone we are left with something that is more complete yet feels emptier than it has ever been.
Humans are Forerunners. No matter what 343 tried to ruin.
Exactly! Stay true! 👍
343's input is just a "bad ending"/what if storyline and just as canonical as paramount's Mr Cheeks 'silver storyline'.
Actually that was a bungie decision n back in H3 in the terminals left by medican bias, 343 just ran with what bungie left
@anthonycarlisle6184 no, just replay 3 an ld read the terminals, Bungie had intended humans and forerunners to be separate
@@cringelord2875 Literally everything they setup had humans as forerunners. What one guy at the end of Bungie’s run added to terminals that contradicted what Guilty Spark says outright is irrelevant.

Sure dude and everyone’s favorite enemy faction was the PROMETHEANS.
Oh yes, I mean Saturn Devouring his Son proved the Flood still has a presence in the galaxy.. it would make total sense for them to come back, especially knowing that the Flood now knows how to breach Spartan armor systems and all that.

Helldivers replaced halo for me. Infinite's shop killed it for me
I used to be such a crazy loving fan of the Bungie halo trilogy. The corporate greed and 343 incompetence has killed any excitement this franchise can ever have. What happened to Rampancy? Wasn't that already established all through Halo 4 and 5 as the primary factor for Cortanas madness? Am I just supposed to disregard that now since I haven't kept up with the books?
Gravemind explanation is fine, I guess? However it was my head cannon that The Domain that "cured" rampancy, really just stabilized it. AIs would still face degradation of their mind and logic, but from their own perspective the changes they were undergoing seemed to always be there and not a result of rampancy and they fixed the danger of just falling apart like Sloan was when you meet him in Halo 5.
looking forward to Halo 7 but in other news Gears 6 is in development:P
I never got mad at cortana corrupting because that was literally pre-halo CE lore that was always eventually going to happen
If they gonna bring back the warden as a boss figure i think something that would fix the repetitiveness of that boss is if he has new types of bodies, maybe one that resembles a tank, one thats a hound, a flying form, hell maybe have some of his normal bodies combine into a form thats the size of a flood juggernaut or kaiju sized where you fight him like he’s the icon of sin from doom
Honestly... this book changes so much, but I'm here for it. This has been the most exciting shift in Halo EU in ages.
5:58 i doubt he will show up, however.
I would like the full book breakdown please.
More book breakdowns!
It’s always oddly nostalgic to hear him talk about mimetic bias.
Yes, please break down the books!
You should do an Epitaph book breakdown
Based on the book, I could see the Didact, Librarian and the Lord of Admirals all being part of some sort of spiritual guide. It was a great book!
I would love to see Blue Team back, and even the team play co op dynamic from Halo 5
Cortana destroyed several small colonies so she could threaten the Banished with destruction of Atriox's homeworld Doisac, and followed through on that threat. That's what it looks like. However, from the books, it looks like she also destroyed Sydney by accident (in 2558 AD), and let the Infinity be destroyed, I wonder if Captain Del Rio, the simulated trial of Iona through Roland and Black Box, and similar had something to do with that. Bringing back the logic plague at this point seems like a retcon, and it is.
I remember in halo 3 when you are looking for Cortana the grave mind is talking to you and then you hear Cortana laughing
If several frigates and the supercarrier infinity made it out to zeta halo, there has to be other starships such as cruisers and of course the support ship spirit of fire, they can use this in the next games too, infinite campaign made it seem like there was no other unsc naval assets left but that cant be true.
At the end of the day, the campaign writers have no idea what they are doing and the book authors are just trying to put out the fires that are started.
Well if u think about it reach came out well after Halo CE and it still the first halo in the story so maybe they’ll come out with the whole story of what happened before infinite
I really enjoyed halo 4 tbh, I dunno how they dropped the ball with Halo 5 from a story standpoint when the entire implication from Halo 4s campaign was that Cortana was obviously corrupted and acting out someone else's intentions....Halo 5 was like...false advertising cause there was very little part of the whole campaign that felt like it was anything more than just shooting at the prometheans and watching the UNSC go on menial tasks just for Cortana to act out her plan anyways
I finished that book in 3 days it was really good, the Flood is definitely coming back
i’ve genuinely just completely given up on halo. I’ve been a fan of the franchise my entire life and just nothing gives me hope
OMG yesss i want that audiobook so bad
Yes please, review Epitaph when you are done! Just finished it. Kelly Gay is amazing.
Okay me personally I've been a really big fan of Halo and to me yes Halo has come a long way but based on what 343 did to Halo they removed assassinations for Halo infinite the campaign wasn't very good for Halo 5 me personally I feel like Bungie did a better job than 343 but I do agree with your decision though
343 will never come close to a game good as bungies
They should have just stuck with the original script of Forerunners being ancient humans
That would of been the proper choice👆👆
Why? That would make the Forerunners so boring
Honestly I am hoping for another halo reach/odst style game that goes off the beaten path to tell another epic set of stories. A halo game that focuses on the different missions of the headhunters would be cool. Or even if more spartan 4s are connected to the next game, various storylines going simultaneously (without fighting chief/blue team this time) etc. I would like to see halo become a bit more cinematic and incorporate more squad play along the lone wolf style elements. ODSTs dropping in from the clouds slamming into wraith’s, etc. Bring the flood back. Human vs covenant multiplayer. Flood firefight. A lot they can do with Halo if they really take it there
The only villain the next game needs is Atriox. He has all the potential not just as a threatening villain but as a dynamic character.
Can you imagine the next big Halo is called Halo 6 as if Infinite never even happened? Boy, that would be the ultimate damage control move
My question is how can the Flood, an organic being infect a digital artificial intelligence?
Man, it sure would be great if i could just play a GAME with all the stories from the damn books...
I think we can all appreciate that 343 is trying so hard too fix Halo 5, at least they recognize what they did with Halo 5 was a mistake. Still, at this point 343 needs to focus on hiring professional game devs. Not including split-screen, assassinations, and lack of proper customization are all holding 343 back.
seems like theyre trying to snatch some form of victory from the ashes of a franchise they themselves destroyed, dont forget hen they blamed halo infinites failure on toxic fans, ukraine war, and microsoft.
More likely they'll just ignore it completely just like they did for all the pre-Halo 5 buildup
I like the books I just started Thursday war but what saddens me is that they don’t cover chief much all u ever do is just hear about him like two sentences after first strike😢 I miss the dude
im just glad that finally after 9 years we find out what happened between halo 4 and now. 343 truely has the utmost respect for the fans and their time. i applaud 343 in their ability to lower the bar more than any other company ever
I'm not too optimistic about it. 343 had an issue with committing long term with anything so far.
