DEPARTURE from KRAKÓW AIRPORT - Check-in to Boarding at Krakow International Airport

- This is a walk inside Krakow Airport named John Paul II International Airport Krakow Balice. The film footage starts with the arrival at Krakow Airport (KRK) outside the main departure terminal (Terminal 1). Viewers will notice that there is allot of construction work in the area, this is because Krakow Airport is undergoing a major modernization program.
The footage starts with the main check-in area located in the terminal. Once check-in has taken place we move upstairs to where the security control and gates are located. Just when you get up the stairs passengers will find a large cafeteria / restaurant where they can have a drink or snack before their flight (this is also a perfect place to have a drink or snack with non-passengers before a flight. After passing the security control we find ourselves inside the very small departure area where the gates are also located. Viewers are given a view of this terminal and the duty free shops, kiosks, bars, snack bars, lavatories and Business Lounge service this area has to offer. Viewers are then given a view out of the windows which face the runway (not a very busy runway) which give the passengers a nice view of some of the airport activities. The footage ends with the boarding process at Krakow Airport where passengers are driven by bus to their respective aircraft.

Jana Pawła II Kraków-Balice) (IATA: KRK, ICAO: EPKK) is an international airport located near Kraków, in the village of Balice, 11 km (6.8 mi) west[1] of the city centre, in southern Poland....In 2003, when Irish low-cost carrier Ryanair became interested in starting a service from the John Paul II International Airport, the airport authorities refused to reduce the landing fees. In response, the regional authorities of Kraków and Lesser Poland Voivodeship decided to build a new airport near the existing one, using the infrastructure of the military airbase adjacent to the shared runway. Finally an agreement was reached, and the existing airport was opened to Ryanair and other low-cost carriers such as Germanwings, EasyJet, and Centralwings..."

Hi, Is there train or bus transportation from the Airport to Krakow City Center even by late night? I'll arrive from Eindhoven by 23:00. Do your recommend to get Zlotys in the airport money exchange?

Nice overview of the Krakow Airport, looks like quite the bustling place. Poland is definitely somewhere I'd like to make it back to in the near future.

Traveller It was nice, only spent a day there then went to some clubs in Sopot at night. Turned out to be a lot of fun! Gdansk is a beautiful city from what I remember.

The airport is very quiet with few flights coming in and out but I am sure that that will change as Krakow as a destination is apparently getting more and more popular!
