I'm a college professor and I teach exactly what this new Cap is about. Systems of oppression created through consent and manipulation. This series is so on point is frightening.
I suppose that's true, however for me this entire Hydra-Cap. thing is a slap in the face to a true hero & fan-base alike, which spans more the 75 years. Along the way, Cap. helped teach many people real life values, like tolerance, compassion, integrity, & wisdom. Those people then passed that on the their children, & so on. But in the world today, there are so few things we can trust, & even fewer people(fictional or otherwise). So, do you really want to see another lost, especially for the sake of political commentary? Because, when all the Captain Americas, Supermans, & Optimus Primes are gone; that is when people will clamor toward the ones spouting things like "don't worry, I'll fix it all for you, just don't think about it."
Not disagreeing with you because you have valid points. But I think the story is great because I can personally agree with it. I am a huge fan of the reality-based stories, even in fiction. For me, Game of Thrones without dragons and white walkers would be just as good because of the political narratives. But that may not be your cup of tea and I respect that. Cap and Superman are inspirations and it is polarizing for them to be seen as that perfect image of goodness. But the reality is there are not many people like that. That's what makes Captain America and Superman so phenomenal characters and that's what makes this story so darn interesting. The ultimate hero is in reality the ultimate villain. That is so interesting. Cap's going to be that great hero we love again eventually, but for now I'm going to be so into this story.
but thats what make it so edgy so cool...and so real...he is the flag, he is AMERICA, he is the little guy who stands up to the biggest bully, he is CAPTAIN AMERICA...but wait don't buy now we give you the gensu knives and more, he is more evil than anything we have ever known...I am big on Cap, and at first felt like you...but man. I just cant wait to see how this plays out
its like their telling us the truth of the world. that its those in power and in their for their own game, and we are just tools, toys and to be used for that gain and their own ends...bring it on Marvel...lol
That's an excellent point right there. In fact, that's the reason I don't like Captain America at all; to me, he's always been like that. This story only made it more evident and had him act in favor of another side. He's always sold this ideal image of the flag, the country, the dream... when to me, superheroes have always gone beyond that. It's a harsh reality we all need to learn. No country is pure enough to be turned into such a heroic figure.
Didn't turn, he always was. He was recruited as a child with his mother and then Hydra and Captain suppressed his memories of that so he could infiltrate the world for them, and conquer it.
There are a LOT of correlations between Cap's speech and Hitler. He too claimed to have not wanted power, but to have taken up the charge for those who had been wronged and who had no voice... I studied WWII extensively and the parallels are eerie...
I know right, I love studying WW2 history and the parallels are there. People may say this is dumb for cap to be all this corrupt political and stuff but cap historically speaking is all about being political since his first comic being him punching hitler and so on(Civil War being a response to 9/11, Secret Empire being in response to Nixon and the water gate scandal and etc). Man historically speaking this run would definitely be one for the history books decades from now as to what the view point of society must have been in our time(by which I mean in a state of being divided)
Sorry but all I could do during this was think back at all the PERFECT opportunities Cap had to take over the world which he supposedly bypassed just to wait for the MOAR PERFECT opportunity. It's what is wrong with comic book villains in a nutshell. "I will make this plan as overly elaborate as possible and ignore all the prior chances I had MWAHAHA!" That is what this is. And it HAS to be because Cap was lazily turned into a bad guy while keeping his history as a "hero" msotly the same. That is retarded, It is what I called it back then. It is what I call it now. Retarded. And all the cool speeches in the world don't change that.
marithememe This is exactly what happened in the Civil War, conflict starts, the aftermath, people taking advantage of the situation, consequences of somebody's actions. Think about it.
Kneel2ThaCrown yes, but part of Cap's character arch as a hydra spy was depicted in Civil war 2, which was ANADM (and i wasn't really a fan of that overall)
Munzur Baba Yeah and when that happens, Carol Danvers is gonna be destroyed in a way that she'll never see coming. I've like Captain Marvel but before Civil War 2 i knew she was a loose canon and a impulsive person who doesn't listen to anyone even if they wanna help her or is incredibly arrogant. Civil War 2 just how badly she wants to be a hero and in the end she lost the argument because her predictive Justice (Ulysses) left the planet with eternity, leaving a fractured community with very few people that she can trust and all Steve Rogers was blind her to an extent that she thinks she's right but she's not and that will be her downfall. Stark was probably the only guy who could've figured out that Steve is Hydra and with him out of the equation, the Secret Empire will begin.
Ideals clashing, conflict arising, war declared, spread of casualties, war ended, aftermath, healing process, villain takes for power, unexpected war, heroes beaten, villain rising, crushed by last hope. For those who are wondering what this is it's basically what happened in the first Civil War up until Siege of Asgard which is so far following the same role in Civil War 2 but in a more elaborate scale. In the first Civil War Iron Man led the charge in registration, in Civil War 2 its Captain Marvel. The conflict started and the right side lost (Iron Man) leaving the wrong side who thinks their right to execute plans which in their minds they think it's best for the world but their not (Iron Man Civil War, Captain Marvel Civil War 2). Now future events come to solidify superhero unity for a brief time (Secret Invasion, Monsters Unleashed) which will have future casualties. Villains take control of fractured state and take power to their sinister plans (Norman Osborne after math of first Civil War, Red Skull and Captain Hydra aftermath of second Civil War) where the side that won (Tony stark first Civil War) (Carol Danvers second Civil War) will have lost or injured badly and are asking for help to clean their mistakes (Iron Man Siege of Asgard) (Carol Danvers posible Secret Empire) where in the end they admit they were wrong. Please Rob comment below I would love for you to think about my opinion on this. 😎😎😎😎
Dude i cant wait til tony stark wakes up finding out hydra took over the world and it will be another huge throwdown between iron man and captain america
Aeron Sumilong but based on the vision though he either wakes up in and gets taken out fairly early on or too late to affect things since miles us shown being the one to kill cap.
I feel like Tony has all what Steve said recorded and when he DOES comes back, he will figure out who Steve really is and the next big event will spawn from that. It will be epic.
I love how you are calm and collected when you introduce this video in terms of how awesome in it, and then in Sinestro Corps War you're like "GAAAAAHHHHHH IF GOD WAS WRITING GREEN LATERN THIS IS WHAT IT WOULD LOOK LIKE"
And that's when Tony Stark wakes up and fixes everything. XD It was going so good until captain america decided to monologue... why do the bad guys always monologue. But loving the story!!
this is to big to last a series, uts bigger than anything so far... this will be the universe for some time... HAIL HYDRA...dam never thought id ever say that, hehehehehe
Blues The way I'm seeing it is that all events have happened the same, but his motive has changed. Before he fought the good fight because it was the right thing to do, now all the things he did was to gain the trust, love and admiration of the superhero community and world's population. Eventually all this respect he gained would culminate into the perfect situation for him to pursue world domination aka The Shield Act. Pretty bad analogy it's like driving your boss wife to the emergency room for the sake of a promotion rather than it being the right thing, but know one will actually know why you did it
Michael Myers oh alright, thanks for offering your perspective. It makes a lot more sense thinking of it that way. When I eventually purchase the comics myself I'm sure it'll be much easier to understand
Rob. I'm with you. I'm loving the new direction of Captain America. he's always been my favorite comic book super hero. The thing I feel cements the reality rewritten Steve Rogers as a bad guy is when he's given total authority in time of crisis he doesn't turn it down. Before the Red Skull used the Cosmic Cube to restructure Rogers' history, I firmly believe that Steve Rogers would have been the first person to stand up to so much power being in the hands of any one person, even if he was the one receiving said power. Rob, you're my hero. keep up the amazing work! I cannot wait for the captain america Playlist and the fear itself event explained! !
Thanksb Rob - as a working stiff, cit becomes difficult keeping up with all the plot threads, seasons, and re-sets of the "big two" comics continuities. These videos are infinitely invaluable for keeping me on-track with the ongoing meta-sagas that are Marvel and DC. There is nothing as reassuring as hearing your voice saying "basically" throughout the narrative - it's like listening to a familiar friend.
That's painting with a very broad brush. There isn't anything wrong with people being put off about this character change. The story is great but it has still changed a fundamental part of a beloved character. It's the same reason that going back to the old superman has been so popular in Rebirth. For me, as much as I find the story really interesting, the character now feels tainted.
Perfectly explained. It's not that he's now a ydra agent, it's that it changes the very reason he was created as a comic book super hero. He was designed to be a beacon to fight the Fascist regimes of the axis powers. And while it's super interesting to have him be an agent of those powers in this story, it also feels like a slap in the face to both the creators and the decades of character development.
It felt like a slap to Jack Kirby, who created Cap to fight against those kind of fascist rhetoric. I don't care what anyone says, I'm not supporting Nick Spencer's work, and Ed Brubaker's the best Cap author.
trisha Hernz You're calling it a slap to Jack Kirby? The guy didn't even had any rights to his character. People praise Stan Lee and Kirby's family was never paid for his work after his death. And this is just a temporary change when someone else gets his hand on the cube and cap will be fine.
Spencer is a good storyteller but his ideological badgering and demonizing anyone who thinks different from him gets in the way of him of just telling a great story.
This is the kind of villain I always love the most, the one who's so close to the line between good and evil that you almost don't want to fight him. Now obviously this Captain's true face is malicious and coldhearted, in fact he contradicts himself in his speech about how the heroes lost (though much of what he said was true about why they were losing) when he speaks about his "perfect America" that ends up being as destructive as the behaviors Tony and other heroes were exhibiting, and as callous of it's citizens with putting "undesirables" in camps, and teaching children to be zealots who believe in a set of ideals regardless of the consequences. This is a great story, I love it!
means being so edgy you cut yourself on your own edginess and open a portal made of edges that leads to a fully edged-out dimension. You then proceed to crown yourself with a crown made of edges and become the edgelord of your own edgy domain. So, sure I do.;)
ComicsExplained Thanks for answering my question from way back when Rob! At least the Oath confirms that Hydra Cap is brand new thing continuity wise ( Hydra Cap pretty much confirms he's literally a new person since he got his youth back and his old self is just memories he has). I hope they do something like only a hand full of heroes know Cap is bad, and they have to kill him, but keep it a secret from everyone else. They should do something like DC did for Hal Jordon and Barry Allan - kill him off, write the comics without him, let the stories move on, bring Cap back and have him deal with the things he did as a bad guy and how everything has changed when he left (and think of some good stories to tell with him!).
I know right, just reading this issue I'm thinking I don't even recognize who this character is and someone else entirely. I mean, you can go so many ways to how cap will revert back if he does revert but regardless the guy will still keep the memories of this other life that he has now and honestly, we don't know how that will affect him going down the line if he does suffer from PTSD as a result of his actions
Its one of the best things DC did with Hal Jordon as Parallax. Yeah, Hal was a good guy and was trying to fight Parallax's influence, but he still talks about the guilt he has over the things he did before. Its important to his character - he's a man looking to atone for things, really, completely outside of his control. I could seriously seeing them do something like this for Steve. He has always been this beacon of justice, this moral compass for the rest of society, to have him fall from grace so hard, and have to build back that trust, not just in the community but in himself, could make for an excellent run.
Silenced Lemon impeach him based on what? He hasn't done anything worthy of it. Don't cite "travel ban" becaise it's really not that exceptional, neither in international politics or for US presidents. heck Obama did it. Carter did it. Pretty sure Roosevelt, Bush Jr. and Clinton did it. The first two I mentioned definitely did. Obama was also the one (he and his administration) was actually the one who had that list of 7 nations compiled. it's also not a "Muslim ban" becaise if it was it would be really bad at it since there are way more Muslim dominated nations tham are on that list and none of the nations with the most Muslims numerically are on that list. All of this hysteria some people have about Trump doesn't make logical sense based on what he's actually done. The only thing I'm aware of that I find outright objectionable is that he admitted we would consider torture in interrogations of terrorists and the like, but even that's kind of irrelevant becaise his Secretary of State is vocally against the use of torture so what Trump said doesn't really have much practical weight to them. I do agree however that the only reason Trump has as much power as he does is becaise of how far Obama expanded and absurd executive power before him just like Bush did before Obama and so on and that it is definitely a problem, so on that I think we agree.
I wasn't really feeling this hydra cap until this video. The words just feel so powerful coming from cap. Like Leonidas firing up the Spartans before the last battle. I think it feels so exciting because this is finally a new thought or something different coming from the character. We always knew what he stood for, his ideals were set in stone before the battle begins because he would do the right thing or die. Cap is the Ron Swanson of Marvel. Now we have the same intensity and focus with none of the bothersome integrity. I want old Cap back but knowing his memories are in there makes this sooo much better.
This story sounds really shitty actually and the idea that Captain America could have killed any of these superheroes anytime he wanted to is patently ridiculous
Rohan Patre Why not? Captain America is super smart, capable, and an amazing tactician. The only thing that would keep him from compiling a "batman-esque" list of how to kill all the heroes would be his morals.
Yeah and if you said this was the best Pats team this year before the Super Bowl last night you would have looked silly in a couple hours. That's funny because during this comment they were down a few TD's and then they won.
Ed Brubaker is kind of the definitive run of Cap. It is so good that they made a movie about it. The artwork in this book isn't good. Taking that into account because this is a art driven platform and a huge comic company like Marvel it is automatically excluded for something like "best story ever"!
I ABSOLUTLY LOVE THIS RUN. seriously Iv been a cap fan for years and OMG, reading this I don't even recognize who this person is anymore and the way he talked was in a way that depicted the heroic cap as someone else who was gone and never coming back. I'm just, SECRET EMPIRE I cant wait especially for the tie ins also, did anybody catch that one phrase of Hydra now being changed to "Cut Off On Limb, Two More Shall Take Its Place" to which I'm thinking what is that signifying cause its always a Head(I mean, who is going to be the real Head of Hydra once all is said and done)
I was never a big Marvel fan. But CWII stories seem so fascinating. Thank you Rob. Also the view on real history is nice done. I would add, that comics generally reflect the actual world condition. And in this story I see a lot of connection to America right now.
oh that's a mighty big statement but certainly one of the best Cap stories I've read but I've been following Cap since the Onslaught saga,i love Mark Waids run but It was a different era as is Ed Brubakers awesome run.
Damn. This Captain America is TOO diabolical. Reminds me of Senator Palpatine. And everyone knows how high Palpatine rose. Practically killing off all who opposed him in the known universe. It was devastating to see those heroes fall. I really hope SOMEONE STOPS STEVE ROGERS! I don't want Steve Rogers version of Order 66! Hydra killing our heroes??? Come on Miles...I'm counting on you...
Rob. Great videos as always. To be blunt i hate the majority of the tiles on ANAD except for Captain America Hydra and Infamous Iron man . Loving Doom as a hero with moral ambiguity. Speaking of which i am amazed by the balls of the writing team. And how they preserved the moral fiber of the Steve Rogers we are familiar with. I like how he still fights what he percieves as wrong. Including plotting to overthrow the Red Skull who has taken advantage of the ideology for his own selfish gains. So evin this captain america may be Hydra but he is no Nazi. And what's really the high point of this run is that he is still relateable and you feel like you can agree with some of the points he makes. He is actually represents the values of the disenfranchised by capitalism and it's mechanisms and believes in a survival of the fittest approach to root out false hierarchy. I may be thinking into it way much. But anyway really thrilling read.
There are some RUclips channels that are of such good quality they could be put on TV, examples of this would be Rob dyke, Comics explained, Vsauce and much more. I just want to thank you for putting TV level quality videos on RUclips for free (meaning us as the viewer).
To the people asking: The amazing Spider-Man is on mondays.

Amen!! Comics are going to.eventually be recognized as a meaningful record of social narratives. and this story is an excellent example of why 😊
Captain America should be required reading in a Political study.
I get legit chills whenever I listen to this. This is why I keep coming back to this channel!
Same! Easily his best vid!
By far one of his best vid it need a 1 million views tbh
Damn Rob. These videos you do are beautifully commentated and narrated man.
Just imagine if Tony Stark just got up and siad "Got ya I knew u where a hydra agent all along. "
Remember the HUGE uproar because of Hydra Cap by people who claim to be so called "comic book fans"?? Good times...
Lancer ikr, but tho story is amazing
Lancer hopefully when he dies he dies as Captain America and not the mind controlled hydra agent
Sorry but all I could do during this was think back at all the PERFECT opportunities Cap had to take over the world which he supposedly bypassed just to wait for the MOAR PERFECT opportunity.

good times

not necessarily a big fan of ANADM but damn this Captain America stuff is genius
marithememe Same
marithememe This is exactly what happened in the Civil War, conflict starts, the aftermath, people taking advantage of the situation, consequences of somebody's actions. Think about it.
marithememe ANAD ended. This is Marvel Now 2.0
Kneel2ThaCrown yes, but part of Cap's character arch as a hydra spy was depicted in Civil war 2, which was ANADM (and i wasn't really a fan of that overall)
easily the best thing about ANAD Iron Man's new prime armor is awesome too lol
Hydra cap is freaking evil, psychopath and cold. its so different than normal cap.
and yeah, Red Skull is gonna get kicked in the ass so hard by Cable and his uncanny avengers, then Cap will take control Hydra.
Aby Awimba
That's the point.
Munzur Baba Yeah and when that happens, Carol Danvers is gonna be destroyed in a way that she'll never see coming. Caleb Lantigua yeah dude. Fuck Carol, i hate her more after CW2. she's gonna get rekt'd so hard by Steve.
Caleb Lantigua
It's ironic that Captain America is such an amazing villain now.
HHHH, captain America is my favorite hero, and my favorite villain at the same time
The first run of uncanny avengers: that's when Red Skull aquires Professor X's brain.
DUDE IM FREAKING OUT RIGHT NOW THAT COMIC WAS SO GOOD THANK YOU FOR TELLING ME THIS GLORIOUS STORY KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK

History always repeats because the vast majority of people refuse to learn from it and it will always be taken advantage of.
Dude i cant wait til tony stark wakes up finding out hydra took over the world and it will be another huge throwdown between iron man and captain america
Aeron Sumilong that's exactly what I was thinking.
Aeron Sumilong Civil War III - $50 and 8 months, plus all the tie-ins...
jabezcreed Sooooo many tie ins.
no thank you
Aeron Sumilong but based on the vision though he either wakes up in and gets taken out fairly early on or too late to affect things since miles us shown being the one to kill cap.
This is so terrifyingly parallel to what's happening in real life.
Damn.
No it isn't. The regressive left is so annoying.
TheSwordsman100 Exactly
TheSwordsman100 Thanks for playing. Here's your Rice A Roni.
TheSwordsman100 Like the regressive right is any better?
kookygremlin24
Considering you guys are rioting in the streets, yes.
wow. this WAS a great Captain America story, wow. great video Rob!
Captain America tried to give his own version of Dusty Rhodes' Hard Times promo
This is my favorite ComicsExplained video of all time. It's such a perfect allegory for our time.
The scary thing is... Hydra Cap isn't wrong.
thats how it starts
Sofia Matos that's how it always starts
The fever, the rage, the feeling of powerlessness that turns good men....cruel
Professor Smoove - Once you can offer someone a solution to all their problems they will sacrifice a lot for it.
+Professor Smoove, That conclusion you get when you play too many MGS games.
Possible for a Quicksilver ComicsExplained?
LeAndre McCoy Twincest is wincest.

civil war 3. cap vs iron man all again
I love how you are calm and collected when you introduce this video in terms of how awesome in it, and then in Sinestro Corps War you're like "GAAAAAHHHHHH IF GOD WAS WRITING GREEN LATERN THIS IS WHAT IT WOULD LOOK LIKE"
Hey Rob,
I think it's time for you to write a book or a comic book. I just wanted to tell you that. lol.
This story is too good! I also love the artwork in this comic 👌🏽👌🏽👌🏽
honestly, I feel that nick Spencer must have written civil war 2. Bendis writes great solo books, but sucks at events.
"Bendis writes great solo books"
Not anymore...
Unshaved Malevolence Jessica Jones and Infamous Iron Man are pretty great so far.
I'm crying!! This is so good! 😭😭❤️
And that's when Tony Stark wakes up and fixes everything. XD
It was going so good until captain america decided to monologue... why do the bad guys always monologue. But loving the story!!
Viktor Aeyra
So we can understand his motives?
Duh.
I have to wonder what Tony's thinking as Steve talks to his comatose body.
Rob... brother, friend, countryman, I need you to know this is some good work.
Civil war 2 should have been between the heroes who believe Steve Rogers and the heroes who found out he was Hydra
No, Civil War 2 should've been what Standoff ended up being.
CW2 should've been a lot of things...
You're incredible. Thank you for you're commitment to comic Rob honestly. I feel your passion and it fulfills the nurd in me😂. Rob core till the end!
"Hubris"... Rob's word of the day!!?
Rob this gave me the chills. Like I am actually sold on reading this now just to see what happens. Thank you.
Well Hitler did turn a country in ruin into the most threatening superpower in less than a decade.
So maybe Hydra Cap has a point 😂
I love this vid man. This is why your channel is so the meta when it comes to comics. Keep it comin man imma keep watchin.
Miles Morales is going to save us from Hydra cap America. keep hope alive!
Izznogood76 nah man bucky and Sam are gonna go whoop his ass at the end
Izznogood76 if you read Thunderbolts, i bet its gonna be Bucky and Sam.
Bwhahaha
Awesome recap, your commentary is why I am getting back into Marvel, plus the nice story telling.
Captain America is the best villain. He better stay hydra for a long time
daniel dragotti No.
daniel dragotti yes...yes and yes
+RagingDXDemon Yes. Take your hurt feelings and go.
Hell no!
this is to big to last a series, uts bigger than anything so far... this will be the universe for some time... HAIL HYDRA...dam never thought id ever say that, hehehehehe
rob when you said this was the best captaun america story ever ill be honest i was skeptical but now i 110% believe you like it NUTS how good it is
My question is since reality was altered then why does the superhero community still respect him? Shouldn't reality be altered for everyone else too?
Again there's a lot of plot holes in this story lol
^ No there aren't. It's not the writer's fault you're too stupid to understand a comic book story.
ghost Rider please !!!!!!!! like if you agree
There is nothing as reassuring as hearing your voice saying "basically" throughout the narrative - it's like listening to a familiar friend.
yeah hail hydra, so awesome.
steve's doing a Palpatine but dang so much depth in steve's confession im loving it
Non comic readers hate Hydra Steve rogers because they don't know a thing about the story.
And this is just a temporary change when someone else gets his hand on the cube and cap will be fine.
trisha Hernz your loss. Comics can't keep telling the same stories. This is a great story
Daaaaaaaaamn!!!! The parallels to world history are scary and amazing
so hydra captain america reminds me a lot of hilary
maddness And is doing what Trump is doing now.
sticktodrum not yet, but mby the future
More like President Trump.
This might be the dumbest thing I read all day and it's 4 am
maddness with the whole ignorant of the masses while being arrogant about their own progressiveness, it feels like Tony is closer to hilary
This is so GOOD. FANBOYYY! Captain America is basically what America is today.
Spencer is a good storyteller but his ideological badgering and demonizing anyone who thinks different from him gets in the way of him of just telling a great story.
It's real ducking preachy and really turned me off to the comic to be honest.
Fucking*
One of the Few All New All Different Storylines I actually like.
Hail Hyrda
Hydra Steve Rogers IS Donald Trump
Wodinn thats an insult to steave 😂
You are right. But the similarities are STRIKING!
Noah Herington lol
Hilary was Carol Danvers
Those are all terrible comparisons.
one of the best videos you have made Rob. it's a shame all we get from Steve Rogers in the mcu is him chasing after he's bff
This story is the definition of edgelord.
You don't even know what that word means.
means being so edgy you cut yourself on your own edginess and open a portal made of edges that leads to a fully edged-out dimension. You then proceed to crown yourself with a crown made of edges and become the edgelord of your own edgy domain. So, sure I do.;)
Me Boo but it's actually interesting and I'm curious to know what's to come
ComicsExplained Thanks for answering my question from way back when Rob!
Th national security advisor was talking about Obama's eo's, trump can only do what he's doing because Obama left the door open. #impeachtrump
Silenced Lemon wtf does this have to do with the video
William P. yeah he's not that Op
Rohan Patre Why? Isn't it like the same thing with Batman?
Va11idus why do you think it is?
Rohan Patre Why not? Captain America is super smart, capable, and an amazing tactician. The only thing that would keep him from compiling a "batman-esque" list of how to kill all the heroes would be his morals.
Va11idus dictator-esque morals you mean?
Man I'm am just loving this buildup soooo much! I'm ready to see the fallout man!
Dude you are smoking crack if you thought this was the best Cap story ever.
Capn Cummings people have opinions
Yeah and if you said this was the best Pats team this year before the Super Bowl last night you would have looked silly in a couple hours.
That's funny because during this comment they were down a few TD's and then they won.
Capn Cummings Now wich you think is best?
Ed Brubaker is kind of the definitive run of Cap. It is so good that they made a movie about it. The artwork in this book isn't good. Taking that into account because this is a art driven platform and a huge comic company like Marvel it is automatically excluded for something like "best story ever"!
Capn Cummings
Or he just has an opinion.
Rob you arr one hell of a story teller! I love when you talk about Marvel stories.
This is still my favorite video of yours of all time.
I ABSOLUTLY LOVE THIS RUN. seriously Iv been a cap fan for years and OMG, reading this I don't even recognize who this person is anymore and the way he talked was in a way that depicted the heroic cap as someone else who was gone and never coming back. I'm just, SECRET EMPIRE I cant wait especially for the tie ins
also, did anybody catch that one phrase of Hydra now being changed to "Cut Off On Limb, Two More Shall Take Its Place" to which I'm thinking what is that signifying cause its always a Head(I mean, who is going to be the real Head of Hydra once all is said and done)
And in the background behind Steve Rogers is a radio playing Louie Armstrong's "What a Wonderful World".
I was never a big Marvel fan. But CWII stories seem so fascinating. Thank you Rob.
Also the view on real history is nice done. I would add, that comics generally reflect the actual world condition. And in this story I see a lot of connection to America right now.
great story! I love your analogies. true fan. keep em coming
This was beautiful
Excellent narration for this man. I love your videos.
Oh my Gosch best video ever Rob. This was amazing but Im kind of pissed that there isnt more lol
Man I love this new captain America story
Keep up the great work Rob - don't ever get discouraged by the haters. You da man!
robcore member #7: why do torment me with this amazing story telling. I can't wait for the next one.
I didn't watch your video till I read the issue, it was awesome.
Rob I didn't want to see cap like this but you are making me want to start reading theses books
thank you rob for making this make more sense
oh that's a mighty big statement but certainly one of the best Cap stories I've read but I've been following Cap since the Onslaught saga,i love Mark Waids run but It was a different era as is Ed Brubakers awesome run.
Come on Miles...I'm counting on you...
great story rob, music make it that much more intense!
Cap. being evil it's like the Hulkster giving everyone the finger and joining nWo.....I love it.
Another great CE production! 👏👏👏
This is your best voice over ever.
Hey Rob, I have a question. Do you know what universe the maybe games take place in? console or phone games?
There are some RUclips channels that are of such good quality they could be put on TV, examples of this would be Rob dyke, Comics explained, Vsauce and much more. I just want to thank you for putting TV level quality videos on RUclips for free (meaning us as the viewer).
ugh. hate your ending. such a cliffhanger. which means you did your job and more. so thank you. great video.
This was my third comic wow OMG of the day. Thx rob
Sweet Christmas, this is a goooood story arc!!

My god this was a beautifully done video. Good job!
THIS video is AMAZING
Great read Rob. I'm going to need to read some Hydra Cap
Wow. His public persona acts in the way actual Cap would act, but with his ulterior motives. Crazy!
You really know your history Rob. I like it!
WOW! Brilliant 🤧🤧🙌, I am buying this right now. Thank you 🙏🏼.
