Just some advice to my fellow beginners to get started on polyrhythms: it can help to think in terms of the lowest common multiple. In the first example, instead of thinking of the left hand doing 2-beat measures and the right hand doing a 3-beat measures, think in terms of 6-beat measures. Then the left hand goes on 1 and 4, while the right f goes on 1, 3, and 5.
1 . Start with a slow tempo . 2 . Practice against a metronome or recording. 3. Best dividing for a more Accurate Rhythm Timing Performance. 4 . Practice Rhythm and Timing on different instruments . 5 . Learn to identify Different time Signatures.
Wow you great😭🔥🔥I’ve been struggling on rhythms, everytime I watch your videos I find something interesting❤️thank you very much .hoping to improve now
Great lesson, thanks! When noodling around I tend to find myself firmly stuck in the pop progression, so I'll definitely give the 3/2 poly a go now. I tend to count the pop progression as "1-2-3, 1-2-3, 1-2", which is probably 'wrong', I know I should count in "1 & 2 & 3 & 4 &" but somehow my brain clicked and it's hard to re-learn. Still, the end result is the same.
actually at around 6:03-6:22 it looks like you are playing 1/8 notes on the right hand separated by 1/8 rests, Shouldn't you keep the keys down longer with the right hand?
Hi there! Is saw that the ‘Piano Chords & Scales The Ultimate Guide’ is only available as pre-order. Any guesses on when it will be back in stock (days/months)? Thank you! 😊
Hey I love your videos I was wondering can u do a tutorial on how to play Speed Of Sound by Coldplay track 7 from their 3rd album X&Y I am having a hard time learning the piano intro to the song
after 3 years of everyday practicing achieved 348 bpm both hands playing your first approach, but to be that fast is to hard(both hands playing) nowadays is around 290 bpm)
Polyrythms are hard only if you think them as polyrythms. They always make a pattern, so why not remember the pattern instead of actively think about the construction ? These are well-known "nice cup of tea" for 3/2 for example.
Unless I am playing at the same time and tempo, my hands stop. I’m seriously considering selling my keyboard, all my music sheets, my courses, metronome and circle of fifths.
don't give up!! i just started a year ago and i can play lead sheets with confidence now im aiming to learn more with the rhythms now and it is challenging but Don't Give Up!! give yourself grace and patience and work on it little by little and your brain will adjust and you'll surprise yourself!!!
As adults it's sometimes very uncomfortable learning new things. Rythym is very hard for me too . Just keep chipping away even if its the basics and you will see progress. Things really clicked for me when I got to lessons using songs I really liked.

Ok. I’m a newbie … where’s the 2?
@@daxter7913nothing happens on the 2 I'm guessing
@@JamieV83 and 6 nothing happens.
1 - both
And- nothing
2- right
And- left
3- right
And- nothing
The 4 is the problem for most beginner

The polyrhythm was my favorite
That one is our fav as well!
after 3 years of everyday practicing achieved 348 bpm both hands playing your first approach, but to be that fast is to hard(both hands playing) nowadays is around 290 bpm)
Now that is some serious speed!
Nice
I'm taking piano lessons and I am starting to get pieces of music with syncopation ! Ouch ! That hurts my brain so hard xD

Just curious what are those in your ears?
In-ear monitor
And when there are two 8th notes together, why only play one note.
