    This piece (BWV542) has been my fascination for many years. But it was your interpretation, Madam, that made it show its whole splendor. Thank you dearly for that.

      Did you try out the interpretation from the late John Scott ? While I won't deny Mrs Sager is an exceptional organist, I'd kill to play half as good as that, Mr Scott's performance has my preference.

    Sorry for my bad English.
    This sounds great to me! I love the way she play the fugue, without any changes of stops, and she keep the a tempo all the way to the last chord!

    Ich mag ihre Bachinterpretationen sehr gerne. Das meist verhältnismäßig niedrige Tempo und die hervorragende Präzision in ihrem Spiel sorgen für die Transparenz, die für Bach gebraucht wird.

    Was soll man dazu sagen? 3 von Katjas Videos habe ich mit meiner Facebook-Seite verlinkt! Katja hat dieses Talent einer Clara Haskil oder eines Dinu Lipatti, Dinge intuitiv richtig zu machen! Ich dachte, so etwas gäbe es nicht mehr! Überall nur Show, Übertreibungen und sinnentleerte Technik! Katjas Spiel zeigt vollendete Klarheit und Natürlichkeit. Herr Mosnier hat recht: sie vermeidet die Versuchung von Temposchwankungen in der Fuge, der viele Organisten in schwierigen Pedalpassagen erliegen, und sie vermeidet im Präludium, aufgedonnert oder geziert aufzutreten! Meiner Überzeugung nach die beste Organistin, die
    auf RUclips zu sehen und zu hören ist! Ich schäme mich. Katjas Spiel ist so schön, daß jedes Wort häßlich dagegen erscheint! SDG schrieb Bach über seine Werke: Soli Deo Gloria. Dies kommt bei Katja vollendet herüber! Keine Eitelkeit, kein Ego: SDG!

    Sparkling performance. I love her registration and beautifully clear phrasing. To my very amateur mind, she paces the fugue perfectly and one can enjoy the counterpoint evolving at a civilized pace. There are a number of recordings on you tube, which make one think that it's all a race. From the outset, the speed is breathtaking and impossible to enjoy in a musical sense. Phrasing is cast aside ; it becomes an exercise in unfeeling virtuosity, where one is left open mouthed and bemused. This wonderful lady gets to the heart of the piece with her performance, and at its conclusion one is left content and thrilled rather than shattered and musically bereft. The organ is impressive as well.

    • @geiryvindeskeland7208
      @geiryvindeskeland7208 5 лет назад +1

      Philip Savins, I am sorry for my inadequate English. Quote: "; it becomes an exercise in unfeeling virtuosity." ....virtuosity. Bach loved to impress people to show them his technical skills. Quote from an old source: "He often play his own composition very fast." Some people want to adapt their romantic hearts to Bach's virtuosity - it don't work. He composed a large number of expressive music, but the fugue BWV 542 is not amongs them. So I think that Katja play the fugue too slow? No, I agree with you, the pace is very good! But don't believe that all his compositions should move our hearts. As I said before, he loved to show his technical skills.

    This is one of the most wonderful organ pieces of Bach. In his course, Vicent d'Indy compared onre of its modulations to one of Tristan! It requests an acute sense of rregistration to underline and give a specific color to each of the layers of this fantasy. This is noticefully done. A great job !!!!!
    Note that the baginning influenced directly Poulenc, who wrote in almost the same way the beginning of his concerto for organ, strings and timbals.

    Beautifully played! Though, I would not use the trombone 16ft for the pedals. I'd reccomend the Open diapason 16ft and add the octave for a more mellow sound!

    Wonderful! Perfectempo!
    I play this fromemory and hardly move. If I did her "body English" I'd be hitting wrong notes.
    Pedal needs mixtures and Principal chorus. 7:20 I trill the long notes. Surprised that she does not.

    I agree very much with geir oyvind eskeland. This piece is really hard to play. A lot of orgonists try to play it faster as their knowledge allows them to play so they forced to keep stops and changes in tempo when difficult part is coming, But this piece must be played keeping the same tempo even if you have to play it a little bit slower. So I think the lady does it well: a little slower but keeping the tempo

    How does she create those different sounds on the organ? Some sections are very bright and then it goes to a completely different mellow sound. Is it the keyboard she chooses out of the 3?

    • @Engineer9736
      @Engineer9736 10 лет назад +3

      Each keyboard is one seperate organ on its own. Per keyboard you have multiple ranks (60 pipes = one rank = one sound). With the buttons on the left and right of the keyboards you can turn ranks on and off. Some organs like this one have also preset combinations of ranks which the organist can preconfigure. Like preset 1 turns particilar pipes on, preset 2 other ones, etc. With the toe buttons next to the swell pedals, and buttons underneath the keyboards, you can change the choosen preset.

      Yvan Azastrasz, sorry for my inadequate English. "...late John Scott." I just listen to an old John Scott wearing a tie, is that the right video? Fantasia: Too romantic to my taste. Fugue: I like the improvisation, the ornament at the final chord. But else - no. I prefer organplayers who try to restore the old music. When it comes to fugues, no changes between manuals, thanks.

    • @yvanazastrasz9013
      @yvanazastrasz9013 7 лет назад

      Yes, that must have been him. If you searched for John Scott and BWV542 there's only one I think. (late just means he's unfortunately deceased now) I get what you say. Matter of taste then I'd guess. You must be loving Walcha then.

    • @geiryvindeskeland7208

      Walcha? Sorry, no. Here is some of my favourites: Christian Barthen, BWV 564, the fugue + preludium and fugue BWV 541. Bwv 582, Maria Vekilova. And the most important of them all- Anthony Newman, BWV 544 the preludium, both pedal harpsichord and organ.

    Très bonne interprétation. Cependant j'aurais aimé plus de couleurs dans la registration. Un Plein Jeu constant devient lourd. Il n'est pas tout de faire la partition encore faut-il faire de l'orgue.

    • @laurentrichard6939
      @laurentrichard6939 3 года назад

      Pas du tout d’accord. Elle sait jouer l’orgue quand même. Je m’emmerde plus a entendre une pièce qui change de registration toutes les 3 mesures… Question de goût voyez. Vous allez changer de registration pour un mouvement de sonate en trio? Alors effectivement il n’y a pas marqué « Pro organo pleno » et encore ça dépend des versions. Quand les registrations ne sont pas indiquées, c’est une question de feeling. Certains ne changent pas de registrations d’autres oui. Mais c’est pas pour ça qu’on ne sait pas faire de l’orgue. Votre dernière phrase est méprisante et méprisable.
