Special shout out to Blue View Sunset Terrace for literally saving the day. The views from this restaurant are unbeatable, the drinks on point, and the food amazing. The staff there is also attentive and friendly, something we didn’t see as much on our drive.

And don’t overlook Kokomo Beach. I know, it looks like a tourist trap, but the staff was very attentive, they bring drinks to your chairs, and they have live bands playing as the sun sets right in front of you. If you can get there, you should go.

We also want to thank our tour guide for being amazing, knowledgeable, and funny through the Hato Caves. He made the whole experience unforgettable. Just remember you can only take photos at one part of the cave. And don’t mind the bats - they’re harmless!

Who are Devin & Hayley?
• Through Our Lenses - A...
Born and raised in New York, we grew up thriving on that contrast between a cities energy and the natural beauty surrounding it. Now that we live in Brooklyn, it’s not uncommon for us to go surfing at Rockaway Beach in the morning but spend the night finding the perfect dive bar in SoHo.
It also explains our appreciation for different cultures and our eagerness to travel, which started from day 1 when we took a weeks vacation to the Dominican Republic after only dating a few months. It was definitely fueled by “young love,” but it lit a fire that has us eager to explore every state and country out there, taking the road less traveled in order to find the local spots we, as New Yorkers, would appreciate more.
And we both have always loved to capture moments, whether it’s me with my videos or Hayley with her photography. The only difference is that I’m a schmuck with a camera who simply enjoys filming and editing short movies to my favorite songs, while Hayley is a professional photographer whose job is to shoot weddings and events for the World’s elites.

@@Ps-do2si we actually went to the DR years ago but stayed in a resort - we’d love to go back and explore the rest of the island! Are there any spots you recommend us checking out?

Which car rental did you use?and what was their process like?
we used the Avis by Jan Thiel Beach. It was fairly straightforward, but make sure you book a reservation and call ahead if you're in a time crunch. I think they have the cars in a lot somewhere else and have to drive them to that location
How long did it take you to do this drive?
we did this whole trip in one day, morning to evening. you could do it all in less time but we wanted to stop at a few spots and take in the surroundings
