  • Chum Kiu is the second form of Wing Chun. With Chum Kiu, you will build on the base of knowledge learned in the first form, the Sil Lim Tao. There are different conditions you can use it and I’m gonna show you one of those in this video.
At the Chum Kiu movements, there are usually two arms engaged at the same time and that will be practical for application training. Attack and defense will be very often seen but also footwork will be very important.
Want to learn/improve your Wing Chun skills?
Si Fu Adam Chan has developed an online training specializing in solo training. No equipment needed, no training partner needed, you can start and practice your Wing Chun at home.

That's a GREAT concept! Often times we're so caught up in countering and worrying about tee next attack. When instead it's about our offense and intercepting their flow or intentions with our own. Very cool.

If you play Go, this concept shows up there as well. The japanese, who studied the game intensively in the past gave it the name "sente" and the term is now used univerally in the Go community.

I wish either you were closer to me, or I was closer to you.
I studied this Wing Chun by the book years ago, and am
curious as to how quickly I could "refresh" those old skills.
Every once in a while I go through the basic "Centerline"
techniques just for fitness, and to keep it fresh in my
mind. Feels good. I always loved the Wing Chun me-
    thod.

Oh hey sir, you proved my point to one of the comments last week. He couldn't understand it, maybe you saying it makes him understand. I think he didn't want to understand because it wasn't said by a "master". I appreciate you Adam.

This is good stuff. He has spoke about it before (forward pressure). I was looking for a negative comment because I saw two thumbs down. Of course, no negative comments. Haters.

I love your attitude. I wish more people thought like you so there would be less arguing and bragging and more harmony, consideration and understanding. We would learn more with less conflict and that's what Martial Arts is really all about. This goes for every aspect of life and applies to everything we do. Thank you for being so positive, helpful and inspiring.

@@williamsmith8790 Yes Gary Lam was also a student of WSL but HE made bis own WC system ! Also not bad ...- but I've seen his kind of teaching. It is more different than studentd like Phillip Bayer. Also Philipp Ng- also he changed the WSL system to his own! But the typical WSL system is the CHI-SAO.

Adam you have great control, you blast into a strike with power then stop it just short of impact. That is not easy to do, but it helps save training partners…

2:52 ⚠️I see an issue. 😂 as a bro. When you face left on right. You cut underneath and that’s fine. Not exactly safe, but you made a contact so that’s ok. But ... when you FACE AN OPPONENT LIKE THAT. You need to SHIFT once contact is made. If you had cut underneath with the vertical fist and fired a cross or shifted your lead. You would have been safer and can keep going. 😉👍💯💥just an observation you may want to try.

    Hi Adam.
How come you don’t generate power from your stance to your hips, shoulders and finally arms movements? Maybe you should check the “support exercises” that
Ip Man taught Sifu Duncan Leung and he teaches at “Applied Wingchun” instructional videos.
Amazing material bro!!! Check it out…
