This is what I like about Sonic. He does heroic deeds not for gain, just because he has to, to protect his friends. That's why he's a true hero, because he never does things for his own personal gain, but to protect his friends. Meanwhile, we have Mario throwing his friend Yoshi INTO LAVA! Sonic is way more heroic than Mario will ever be, and that's Nintendo's greatest mistake. They seem to have trouble making the protagonist in their games true heroes, but it comes so naturally with Sega.

I personally think that both Sonic and Mario would make the perfect duo in a game that isn't a stupid sports game, Mario's reward seeking and boy scout personality and Sonic's cocky/compassionate and caring hero on the run attitude could make for a perfect contrast. It would be super funny to see Sonic run head on into danger only for Mario to grab his hand and put a Mushroom into it with Sonic giving him a weird look, something like that may never happen but one can only dream. Also I like to think both Sonic and Mario are great heros in their own way, while I prefer Sonic over all let's not forget a lot of Mario's great accomplishments despite some of the bad things he's done. Sonic has been a jerk before too, both characters have their flaws and that's why we love them right?.

He bows before her most of the time for a small kiss on the hat, but he's a great man for doing what he does either way and I'm not dissing the character of Mario but I do enjoy Sonic more ngl
