    I Like this video. . I'm a snake player. 5' 11" 170. Lbs. And the Hydra knee pads are the best I have tried. I had the exalt , and the HK. Crash. . And the hydra have gave the best knee stability. Along with comfort.

    Love my exalt pads. Their slide shorts are awesome, elbow pads are great, a little too long, my end up hemming them, knee pads are great, made from neoprene and the foam padding is huge and thick. I’ve had no issues with them sliding around or anything like that. Just wish there was a cut in the back of the knee for better mobility and breath-ability. Exalt is incredibly comfortable and high quality in my opinion

    Hey Ben, It's Dennis from Behind The Mask! I own the Eclipse pads and the grey you see on the outer part of the knee is the same thickness as the black portion that's on the face. I can send you some more pictures if you need, so you can get a better idea of the design.

    • @playbetterpaintball
      @playbetterpaintball  2 года назад

      Thanks for confirming that! I had a feeling it was the same thickness but it was hard to tell from the pictures.

    The planet eclipse knee pads do have full coverage across the front, the black area is just a little thicker. I have a pair and they hold up pretty well for heavy use in woodsball areas

    exalt pads for me. they are the only knee pads that ive found that fit my big boy legs, and they stay in place too. exalt arm pads are awesome and ive gotten alot of bounces with them

    Exalt or Dye are the best for padding imo. Please do a performance review on the ultra silk and boom juice. From what I've heard, the treatment that truly gives performance is sending in parts to get treated with the service lonewolf provides. Not entirely sure how it works, but it's a coating they infuse into parts themselves (not a lubrication).

    • @playbetterpaintball
      @playbetterpaintball  2 года назад +1

      I think you're right, that the full heat-activated treatment is what makes the big difference but I'm excited to see what this super light lube can do for performance and feel. Seems like it should be way better for fsdo and consistency issues that thicker, more viscous lubes can cause!

    I started wearing Carbon 3/4 tights with integrated knee pads and I won't go back to normal knee pads. It much more comfortable for me and I don't have to deal with them getting out of place or having the back part irritate me

    • @playbetterpaintball
      @playbetterpaintball  2 года назад

      How thick are the integrated ones?

    • @luckmonster80
      @luckmonster80 2 года назад +2

      @@playbetterpaintball I don't have a measuring tool but they are less bulky and thinner than my dye ones. But they did the job when I was kneeling at hyperball field and it has hip and crotch protection too for sliding.

    • @playbetterpaintball
      @playbetterpaintball  2 года назад +1

      @@luckmonster80 well I hope it's more than the 3mm advertised on their other pads! Even if you're not playing aggressively like a front player, it really takes 3/4"+ of padding to adequately cushion the knee from the ground, especially if there's any chance of rocks, roots or other debris being between your knee and the ground

    Like the video , but I do have to say the blue Hydras have been the most comfortable for me and my son and he plays snake, but for each is own. Keep up the good work

    • @playbetterpaintball
      @playbetterpaintball  2 года назад +2

      Sleeves are absolutely much more comfortable than pads, but the more comfortable your protection of choice, the less protective it gets. The blue sleeves are EVEN LESS protective than the already poorly designed black ones, so for the sake of preventing long term knee damage, I highly HIGHLY recommend getting actual knee pads, not neoprene compression sleeves

    • @YoungJasQ
      @YoungJasQ Год назад +1

      @Play Better Paintball I also have the hydras and while I love the safe feel of the compression, the padding definitely isn't enough for me. Will the Dye knee pad provide that tight compression to help keep the movement of my knees safe? If not, any suggestions? I'm getting older but wanna keep sliding while I can

    • @YoungJasQ
      @YoungJasQ Год назад +1

      @@playbetterpaintball and also..should I go a size up from the dye chart?

    • @playbetterpaintball
      @playbetterpaintball  Год назад

      @@YoungJasQ I worried about the sizing but was pleasantly surprised that their sizing was spot on, so you shouldn't have to go up a size if you measure your knee joint with a soft measuring tape.

    • @playbetterpaintball
      @playbetterpaintball  Год назад

      @@YoungJasQ The comfort and protection that compression sleeves provide is different than the comfort and protection that padding provides. The Dye's (and any high quality padding for that matter) is not going to be as comfortable as the thinner, more flexible compression sleeves (which is what people enjoy about the Hydras). They will, however, going to feel more comfortable when you're kneeling, crawling and sliding because they actually absorb the impact and mold to your knee to disperse your bodyweight over a wider surface area. So what you're probably looking for is the best combination of compression, and impact protection, which I would wager is not going to be found in the Dyes, but perhaps the Exalt pads (since they offer more coverage of protection around the knee, creating a more uniform feeling, but the Empire and Planet Eclipse look like they might also create a good middle ground as well.
      Hope that helps!

    I would have also chosen the same thing but my old dye pads are called c3 n/pads what would be a good color set for a shocker XLs eye cover and back cap and feed neck lever and it's dust black just asking

    I want to see a recap after you have time with the pads. I used some super thick JT pads for year, recently after coming back to paintball I picked up some PE. My only complaint it with the 2 Velcro straps the strap above the knee can catch on your pants.

    • @playbetterpaintball
      @playbetterpaintball  2 года назад

      I'll be sure to follow up and let you know how they do! I didn't think about the straps possibly catching the paints, I can definitely see how certain materials might easily catch some of that velcro, so thanks for pointing that out!

    I really like the information in your videos. However they are quite long and slow, I watch at 2x to speed past the filler commentary. If you want to build up viewership and get your great content spread out well, I recommend writing up a script for yourself to help focus on the real content, the information, you're trying to relay. That hopefully helps trim out the filler in your videos as it's clear you have lots of great knowledge to share.
