Just need to be flying with eight more of them! I saw both the last Reds display with the old Folland Gnats, and then the first display with the new Hawks some time back in the early 1980's. There are only two aerobatic display teams in the world that fly 9 ship formations, The Red Arrows with the Hawks, and another British team, Tiger Nine flying 9 DH82A Tiger Moths. I just saw the Tigers yesterday at Duxford, they do some of the same moves as the arrows, just much slower! Still it's real nice to see some more British planes available as foamies. Now all we need is a nice sized Hurricane Mk I and a matching Spitfire Mk Ia. We have enough of the real ones back in the air now over here in the UK to make some choices of markings from.
Amazing video my friends and what a beautiful bird. Just onboxed ours today and we alredy love it. Oh yeah... Thanks for posting this video and greetings from Slovenia. Cheers, Pilot Robert
Wow, it's not small! Can't see me keeping too many of those in my tiny place! Gonna start flying my squadron on 50mm's this winter to make space for at least one 70mm perhaps next season! Live the Red Arrows scheme, really has presence on the air!
I had my first flight of the hawk the other day, I forgot to add some elevator in when I use the flaps so it was hard to fly slow but boy half throttle I was just owning the sky, then tryed a Little full power and was really taken back by the speed and climb and sick roll rate of this plane!!!! it's just as fast as my 90 mm jets.
Great video guys, your channel out of all the others I follow is the one I constantly look forward to. Great job capt Mike and pilot Ryan!!! You guys are the best. Keep them coming
Man, you really did it with the takeoff and landing twice! I hate to watch how unreal is for RC aircraft but you did it great. Kudos too to the airplane. One of my favorite. I think you can improve with some landing gear doors and a more durable battery pac. Only two or three min?
2 different beasts with the size difference but that both fly exceptional. If you want to spend less to enjoy a Hawk go with our 70mm, but for an 80mm, the FMS Hawk is great but so is the Freewing L-39, Avanti, T-33, F-86, A-4, MiG-21. Whatever your preference, go with it
hahah. It comes down to budget and what your preference is. When set up correctly all three models will fly excellently. The Avanti has been a favorite of EDF pilots since its release for great reason but maybe you prefer scale jets to sport jets? Then the 80mm FMS Hawk is a great flyer but so is the 70mm Freewing Hawk with the latter being easier on the budget.
Is the Lipo at the cg point stated in the manual? I’m using a 4000 60c and I would say mine balances about 2-3cm back from your location. My Lipo maybe slight heavier . Or do you prefer it slight more nose heavy. ? I’m reference point for the cg comes out right on the panel line on the wing
Aprilia M I always default to nose heavy at first. Keep in mind I only get to fly these a few times before the video. Maiden and second or third are for photos then it's action. I'm quite happy with the book cg. We will go high rate elevator and low rudder and aileron many times.
Well looks like I'm going to be the first one to put an afterburner ring 3 color on my 70 mm freewing BAE Hawk I looked online I can't find anyone else that's done it I hope it's easy I'll find out when it comes........ I have to make a video on it
Ryan, I am almost ready to fly mine, and I was reviewing your video. I have some questions, for you: When you say in the video "idle" do you mean throttle to the very bottom, or say 10 or 20% up? Do you use half flaps for take off, or no flaps at all?
Richard Raimondo idle is 10-20 like you say. Off or 0 is none. No flaps for take off for me. Some guys like half flaps. My advice commit to the elevator for take off and landing or it will bounce around.
If you want an easy stable flyer then go with the BAe Hawk. If you want a little bit more of a challenge in flight and landings then go with the Yak. The BAe Hawk is balanced with 4k to 5k batteries and is a dream. We put the Admiral gyro in the Yak with the gains turned down a bit and WOW. Easy landings and flight, Just like the Hawk using 4k to 5k batteries it feels the same. We take both to the field and have a hoot. The sound on the Yak is amazing. The lights on the Hawk is a 100% plus. Their both unique aircraft so its hard to decide. We love both.
Juniorslothsix of course! Would need to do some cutting of the canopy (buy a second canopy) to mount the camera, but anything can be converted to fpv with some ingenuity
I flew mine today a great looking aircraft and she flys great almost like a scaled down Avanti. The guys at my flying field loved it.
Anthony Thompson what bat u used
3300mah turnigy heavy duty 60c also i use 4000mah 60c packs
Anthony Thompson awesome will use them
At 6:15,fantastic approach and landing...Sir !

Looks great! Nicely done guys.
Thanks Tony!

Robert Petrinčič watch the landings and you’ll see what I mean by committing to the elevator

Anyone know if this is faster or slower than the 80mm FW Avanti?

What do you like more: the Freewing or the FMS Hawk?

I'm having problems deciding between this 70mm freewing and the FMS 80mm version and also the 80mm Avanti ?? uhg!
It's a good problem to have. They all fly great, and you wouldn't regret either
@@MotionRC oh great.. thanks a lot! LOL

This is a must have?
I like the belly landing in the grass saves my landing gear...
Sure wish I had your flying field
Awesome thanks for the detailed reply i guess i need to put my hawk together and find out cheers.

Nice plane for sure

after 5 years, is the tree still standing there at the end of the runway?
Can this be hand launch i see w area where u can place ur hands or too heavy???
Would u say this would be a good first 70mm edf
Definitely! It's a perfect trainer
Motion RC cool thanksb

Do you mean no flaps on landing as well?
Richard Raimondo we land with flaps.
Great. Thanks a lot for your advice
Is this the outrunner version?
I cannot wait for mine to arrive! 😀
I got mine and so far I am impressed. Watching Ryan rip through the air with it makes me want this poor weather to pass so I can put mine in the air!
Your a real good pilot, you make it look so easy, when it's anything but.....
Is it possible to fly this Jet with 4S lipos?
I definitely needed elevator added in with the flaps
This is the best freewing plane for taking off the grass in the gear is rugged enough to take it I may have to get another one in grey
Would the admiral 6s 5000 be too big/heavy for this jet?
not at all, we fly 4k, 45k and 5k all the time,
Cool, thanks!
What about the Admiral Carbon 5100 ??? Come back
Sir I flue warbirds I never fly jets Can I fly this.
This would be my first edf jet
Come on guys, please get the landing gear strut upgrade please!!!!
Can i put a 6s 3300 or 3600 mah
What is the blue box next to the lipo?? a gyro?
That's our Blue Box! ;) ruclips.net/video/w2vr1iK6vns/видео.html
excellent review!
Getting one soon 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Which do you prefer this or the yack 130?

Amazing flyng neec more inverted flyng
Sold! Ordered this baby, sweet jet 👍
Oh yeah Mike...
amazing plane!!!
It ways a ton
Why on earth would anyone advocate against slowing down flaps? In my experience that is always a good thing to do.
janmb it's a servo thing not a flight thing.
Motion RC Ah, that at least makes a little more sense, thanks
Fantastically WOw...MotionRC always takes my money whaaha :)
Wow ..unreal..welp, unexpected purchase of the year...here we come
You are going to love it! Gray or Red?
Motion RC red! I suck at painting things :(
Red as I am the worst painter there is.
Grey i wanna spray paint a Russian camo
6s 3300 be ok
Jeff Arab yes should be fine, just make sure cg is on point
Motion RC ok good info thanks
Most 70s take that range
Who the hell gave this a thumbs down get a life
would it be possible to convert this to FPV???
Juniorslothsix of course! Would need to do some cutting of the canopy (buy a second canopy) to mount the camera, but anything can be converted to fpv with some ingenuity
