More obsessed than crazy. Tesla was obsessed with pure research to the exclusion of commercialized technology. Along with bad breaks and rough dealing from others this explains why Tesla died poor. Actually, he had enough money for minimal daily needs at the end but died with a lot of personal debt.
Very well done and more accurate than many other summaries I have seen. The tragedy and mental state of the man is mostly ignored but important and true. Another truth is that he was a very spiritual man which is also often overlooked. So great his name will be on autonomous robots and his name lives on in that way!

Tesla may have championed AC power transmission, but his preferred version a 2 phase system simply didn’t work, was very inefficient , and was never used. The person to thank for all modern electric transmission is Mikhail Dolivo-Dobrovolsky, and without his 3 phase transmission , the powered world as we know it simply wouldn’t be, and the birth of powerful motors way back then would never have been possible .

You are wrong about something here: DC has no drawbacks in terms of energy transportation, it actually is used if the distance an currents are high. It’s called HVDC Transmission. You have no magnetic losses, you can use less material because the skin affect does not appear like on AC and there are some minor other things. The big problem is the „normal“ transportation. The problem is the voltage at which it is transported and how to transform it like you said in the beginning. But overall wonderful video!
In video DC means high current old type distribution systems and not high distance transmission lines wich were unthinkable in those days. HVDC has also drawbacks fg. limited power because of limited top voltage cca 1MV. This will be solved by Tesla's HV-HF one wire transmission system.

3:42 Incorrect. There is no question that Elon Musk has had enormous influence on the Tesla electric car company. However, that said, Musk did NOT name the company. It’s founder, Martin Eberhard, did. Musk’s involvement and relationship with the company began as an investor not as founder. He had absolutely nothing to do with selecting Tesla as the company’s namesake.
At the time of his birth, Smiljani was Serbian, not to mention the croatians killed his entire village in WW2 and destroyed his Museum and memorial in 1991.
Nikola Tesla was an ethnic Serb born in the village of Smiljan, which is located in modern-day Croatia. At the time of his birth in 1856, Smiljan was part of the Habsburg Monarchy (later known as the Austro-Hungarian Empire). Tesla was thus an ethnic Serb born in Croatian territory of the Habsburg Monarchy. He later moved to the United States, where he conducted much of his groundbreaking work in electrical engineering and became an American citizen in 1891. So, while Tesla was of Serbian descent, he was born in what is now Croatia and spent much of his professional life in the United States.
If someone with that much potential was born in the present time, ppl would throw money on him, he would live and die as one of the most valuable humans ever lived. But thanks to channels like this, Elon, etc. Nikola Tesla will get the respect posthumously! As one of the most important/influential humans in the history of civilization.
Ah, but isn't Elon a person with as much, (or nearly as much) potential as Nikola... ? And look at all the resistance Elon got. Money was not thrown at him, to the contrary... Elon had to FIGHT Through all the negativity to win ... Elon had some money, and Elon is more well-rounded, and so it was close, but Elon is winning ... !
