I'm kinda weird with WD-40, I don't hate it, but I don't exactly like it either. I guess my favorite aspect of it is the solvents inside it, works pretty well for cleaning off hand tools before I wipe them down. I don't use it to coat the tools, but a quick spray and wipe will remove most greases from my tools. I used brake cleaner in the past, it works very well but I burn through it very quickly and WD-40 seems to last a good bit longer for how I use it. It adds another step since I still need to wipe them down with another oil to protect the tools but it works, I kinda wish other sprays had stronger solvents as it would be a 1 step clean but it works well enough.
I've done it both ways, spray to clean or spray and leave especially if it was in water. It isn't a bad product but for busting rust loose, there are better products out there.
Only knew of WD-40 before I started plumbing. Then saw a bottle of PB blaster. That's all we use at our company. Awesome stuff.
I was shocked at how well it worked. I thought they were all the same but I was wrong!
Hi Jay. I found PB Blaster about 10 years ago and I also swear by it. Thanks for the video.
Absolutely, I wish I had found it before I started the build.
I used WD-40 until I started working in a diesel shop. All we used was PB Blaster. I find it does pretty much anything WD can do but better.
that is pretty much my conclusion.
Great video and great information I’m a blaster user been using it for years. Love it.
definitely has it uses and I'm glad I found it.
Uncle uses blaster, he laughs at wd-40 I’ll use blaster!
haha that is great
WD-40 was developed during the early days of ICBM missiles to clean stainless steel on the Atlas Missile. It is still used for that application.
I did not know that! Very interesting.
Pb blaster is great I use wd for coating and cleaning my tools, but the ultimate mix is 50/50 Diesel fuel and marvel mystery oil in a spray bottle
That sounds like a good mixture to get anything unstuck....
Diesel always ben used to clean engines. And plugged in to the unclog oil in gears . Might use it for bike chain cleaning and lubes. Lol. Soak it.
Thanks for setting me straight, very helpful
I appreciate it. I need to do one with Kroil and Seafoam soon but I am still researching it.
Good
thanks
PB works great for plastic and rubber restoration also, if you don't mind the smell.
huh, never had tried it on rubber and plastic but I will keep it in mind. Thanks for the tip!
@Jay's Jeep and Classic Cars Read the can. Lol
This might be what I need. Thanks.
you are welcome. my pleasure.

Great video brother 👍
thanks, I appreaciate it.
WD40 works that a fact!
it isn't a bad product. I've used lots of cans in my day.
What is the best to protect against rust in your opinion?
depends on the situation. PB Blaster will put a layer of oil down where WD40 will displace the water. I have also used Seafoam Deep Creep.
@@jaysjeepandclassiccars Thank you mate 👌
