Health is an essential factor that plays a major role in women's wellbeing. Women's health & wellbeing affect their own families as well as society at large, as they are the ones who manage households and take care of their families. Unfortunately, most women in India are often so focused on taking care of others that they neglect their own health needs. Their nutritional status is especially worrisome, as many women ignore their dietary needs, leading to anaemia and malnutrition even at a younger age.
The International Day of Action for Women's Health is observed on May 28 every year to spread awareness about women's health. It's a day to raise awareness about the issues faced by women around the world, including sexual & reproductive health rights. On this day, let's commit to raising awareness about women's health needs and strive to create a future where the health rights of women & girls are protected and promoted.
At SEESHA, our Women Empowerment Program has been instituted to build capacities, provide health education and empower disadvantaged women in various facets of their lives especially in the aspects of health & wellbeing.
