Thanks so much for sharing this! It really helped me. I have 2011 BMW 535i (f10). My car was giving me the powertrain malfunction error light at high speeds, spiratic jerking when accelerating, and a light smell of gas when initially starting the car. I didn't have to remove the top crossbar; my hands were small enough get around it w/o doing so. I also would like to caution everybody who tries this to be careful not to rip or tare any of the small hoses that connect to the main vacuum hose. The material that these are made of becomes brittle over time and excessive bending or movement can cause them to crack or break which will cause a vacuum leak. I slightly crack one of mine but was lucky that it was a small crack that I was able to use some Gorilla glue GEL on followed by some black electrical tape while it dried. Afterwards, the car runs a lot better and smoother. Thanks for your help in sharing this vid! Sharing any other vids that you have about the BMW F10 is greatly appreciated. Thanks again!
Bro I have the same car, same year. Got the power train malfunction... still trying to figure it out. Changed the lpfp and fuel pressure sensor. I think it's the hpfp. But ima change the boost solenoid to see if that fixes it.
@@xhulio805 I switched it back to stock tune with mhd still installed and had no issues far. Although I think the actual fix is the hpfp and the fuel rail sensor.
Can the boost solenoid cause the an “engine malfunction reduce power”, when I’m on low rpms and try to merge onto the freeway I get no boost and the half engine comes on
Had my mechanic which is a well known mecanic switch out my boost solenoid on my F10 today and he didn’t put in the lower bolt…. thats alarming to me but he says its okay… is it?
I've have a similar problem on my f30 n20 motor. I had a locksmith take off my engine cover and when he placed it on, he connected the solenoid hoses wrong and I lost all of my boost. I was also leaking a bunch of oil from the hoses being placed incorrectly. Eventually I took it to my mechanic and he was able to check the whole vaccume lines and saw that they were placed on wrong. I do think my solenoid got damaged on the process. Some of the symptoms I had while I had that was that the car would run right at lower speeds and once I would get on the highway I would lose the turbo boost and the car could rev up like normal but I couldn't get boost. While that happened I got the drivetrain malfunction. I got home turned the car on and it went away. I used my obd2 scanner and got a code p0234 saying that I had overboost. Now, I ordered a new solenoid and hopefully that will fix my problem. I'll update this comment once I get it replaced. Hope this helps anyone. Good video by the way.
Thank you bro 🙏🏼The way you explain what happened it seems like your boost solenoid might have gotten damaged, a new one should definitely fix the problem. Keep us posted!!
@@anthonyulloa4004 so I managed to get the new solenoid but I kept getting overboost. I was able to determine that when I was on on the highway or a hill I would do 20psi of boost and once it reached that the car would go into limp mode. So I adjusted my pneumatic wastegate and the code hasn't come back. I do notice a bit of a power loss when I adjusted the wastegate. So I'm going to switch out the wastegate soon. I just can't seem to find the part anywhere.
@@omarguzman6553 That seems odd bro, if you were to have a loose wastegate you would be getting boost too low. Unless your wastegate was getting stuck somehow which could cause an overboost

I've had the 2011 BMW 535i since 12/19 and love it. Haven't had any real issues with it to this point. I just got this code after having my spark plugs and coils changed. The mechanic was co fused and said take it to the dealer after charting ridiculous amounts of labor investigating. Please help. He told me to go to bmw to get the software updated because they can't clear the code. Do u have any ideas?

Hi I wanna replace mine , is making noise
Can you diagnose this with bimmerlink and veepeak?
I have ruff idle surging power and very boggy in reverse gear with these exact codes. Anyone know what it could be same car and motor
What are the symptoms to this
Did you also get a radiator blind code as well?
No it was just that code
Do you think a 2011 is a good choice 535i to buy I want to get one?or what year would you would say to start with
If you find a good deal on a 2011 I’d say go for it. But if you can get your hands on a 2014+ LCI that would be dope

Someone do this video on a f10 550i plsss
Where did you get this peace at ? and would this fit 335i n55 2013 ?
Yes its the same. Buy it on FCP EURO, its cheap and they will give you lifetime warranty on it.

Does it only use one boost solenoid?
Yes, N55 only has one turbo

Should you change these on a 2014
If your not hitting boost target, it could be the cause.
I’m having issues but with boost to low you think it could be that?
Possibly, but the most common issue with low boost is a boost leak somewhere in the system
