    Happy for you on that hanger! I've only found one and it was small. That was a nice set too

    I'm in central Wisconsin, the weather has the bucks confused I think. I've got videos of bucks chasing does around. This morning I got a video of two 8 pointers sparing. Was hoping they would shed an antler or two but they must be hanging on pretty tight yet. The smaller bucks are starting to drop, I've seen a few of them with half racks. Always enjoy your shed hunting videos!

      Yeah I’m still seeing 30-50% holding by me. Some areas more than others.

      Yeah deer are acting weird. Just yesterday the 17th I watched a buck try to breed another buck in my backyard (both still had both antlers). That was a first ever seeing that lol.

    Would think let bow hunters in there vs sharp shooters. Give meat back to the locals

      Yeah that would be nice but these areas are very liberal and don’t want any hunting. These parks are completely surrounded by urban areas and houses.

      I’ve been in bad ruts too. 20-30 miles not finding any. Keep grinding and checking out new spots.

      I found a couple nice moose antlers the day before Christmas put atleast 40 miles in with tons of sign and finally found a little 4pt side deer antler yesterday 120 ft from my truck.

    What’s the reasoning for sharp shooters?

    • @wisconsinwhitetail9744
      @wisconsinwhitetail9744  10 месяцев назад

      These parks are completely surrounded by urbanization and houses. There isn’t even any private land that can be hunted that borders these spots. These areas are very liberal and won’t even allow a special draw system for bow season. The sharpshooters are hired by the government to thin the herd. Kinda sucks, especially in some areas where the numbers are way down for a few yrs then it rebounds and then gets thinned again.

    Deer also chew on their own antlers when they fall out of curiosity

      I’ve heard that on the internet too. But have you ever seen any proof. Sure maybe pen deer are observed chewing on antlers because there’s nothing much to eat but I’ve only ever seen 2 types of chew marks. Squirrel damage and coyote teeth marks from them mainly carrying them.

      Well I have seen it on trail cams. When they drop the deer will pick them up by the end of the tines and drop them a few times even carry them aways almost like they don’t know what to do. Lots of the sheds I find are freshly dropped like within a day or two and they always seem to have square teeth marks on the ends of there tines. I’ve talked to other people about this that have deer feeding stations they have pictures and video of deer doing this type of behavior.
