    Really appreciate your patience with the Tangente. I for one would have gone for nothing less than a replacement or a full refund!

      That’s where I’m at. I have acquired another watch that has turned into my everyday watch and the Nomos ones aren’t getting worn (maybe like once a month). I will make a video on it in the future

    What a collection - WOW🇩🇪🇩🇪🇩🇪 Bought my first Nomos a couple of months ago (Tangente Neomatik Blue Gold), and I absolutely love it. Its elegant, precise and very comfortabel to wear. It sure wont be my last. Btw, maybe you "need" one of the Nomos fountain pens...☺️👍

    I'll get the Metro 39 Neomatik soon. It's a designers dream watch! Congratulations, you have a great collection of Nomos watches. I already know, after my Metro, comes the Tangente and then my Nomos journey ends :)

      Yeah the movement just has its issues. It’s been great since it was fixed but being without a new watch for months is no bueno.

    Unbelieveable. I also have a tangente 181 and I had the same exact thing happen to me 2 weeks ago!

    • @CraigRoccanova
      @CraigRoccanova  2 года назад

      It runs great now! I hope you get it back soon! (I’ve heard it happen to lots of people). I also forgot to mention in the video but leading up to the crown popping out, it was hard to manually wind the crown and I noticed the watch stopping frequently. No issues since it got fixed

    • @KaptainTech
      @KaptainTech 2 года назад

      @@CraigRoccanova Do you know whether they actually resolved the design flaw with the movement when they fixed it for you, or just reattached the crown?
      I'm wondering what the probability is that this will happen to us again down the road after it gets "repaired".

    • @CraigRoccanova
      @CraigRoccanova  2 года назад

      Nomos follows me on Instagram (which is still weird) and I talked directly to them about it. It was a legitimate design flaw that they have since fixed. When the watch goes in for repair, they handle that recall. It’s seriously a night and day difference from when I first had the watch!

      @@CraigRoccanova Amazing, thanks for the info!
      Also, I will say that it's kinda cool that these are now discontinued, as the dials are beautiful, especially in sunlight, and very unique. I would imagine they'll continue to appreciate in value the future.

      I hope so too! I also really like the placement of “Made in Germany” the newer 182 put it in a very awkward spot. Ruthenium looks great dressed up or down! Hopefully you get it back soon!

    Very nice. They have such character to them. I like the black background for it's easier to read. But that's just my preference entirely. RUclips, Reddit, anything that can have black background.
    What entails a servicing? How long does the leather last in the bands? How're you doing? 👍🤓👍

    • @CraigRoccanova
      @CraigRoccanova  2 года назад +1

      Servicing should take a couple of weeks to a couple of months. When these get serviced, they might be done at a Nomos servicer here in the states but they may be shipped to Germany to get the work done. The Shell Cordovan straps last a lot longer than the average cowhide leather. The fact they have made it this long is amazing! Normal leather straps would stink by now! I am doing great dude! Just house sitting and working away. Trying to figure out what content to do next!

    Sorry for the experience! On the time keeping thing, it seems to me a few seconds a day is probably still within cosc? Not that nomos send in their watches for cosc. I don’t think accuracy and price have much correlation beyond that cosc or metas standards but that’s just me

    Hi, as most other reviews are just first time impressions, it's really informative to see a review after having a watch for some time. I am looking at a Tangente 41 update in midnight blue, and the AD is holding it for me for a week. After seeing this, I am now seriously having second thoughts about getting it.
    As an aside, I was wondering though why you wind your automatic frequently? Winding an automatic usually make the gears in the rotor winding assembly turn a lot faster than if they were turned by the rotor, causing them to wear down a lot faster than they normally would, or does that Nomos movement have some sort of protective mechanism?

    • @CraigRoccanova
      @CraigRoccanova  2 года назад

      Nomos does have a protective mechanism so it doesn’t get overwound. It was a known issue with that caliber. I have had zero issues since getting it back and it keeps almost perfect time

    • @judasslip
      @judasslip 2 года назад +1

      @@CraigRoccanova Great to hear that. I guess you can expect bugs when you have a fairly new movement, especially something as thin as that. Nomos is a young company, by industry standards, and it is quite an achievement for such a young watch company to be designing and creating their own unique movement.

    Nomos is a Brand I have not owned. I started collecting when I ws 19, so a Long Long time ago. The Apollo Moon landing spurred my interest when I saw John Glenn with the big watch strapped on his wrist... I found a local Jeweler that could get one for me., I started paying him in September of 1969, and finally had enough for him to order the watch. I got it in July of 1970. It was actually Built on June 11, 1970. It's a Non Marked casebook of "first watch on the Moon", which they started stamping sometime later. I still have it to this day. There is no way I'd be remotely able to purchase it today...I paid 412 dollars it, which ws a ton in 1969. It seems we have something else in common m Friend.......Sorry about the problems you had with one of yours....it happens to them all....

    The Metro, it looks like the 1101, but is it really that smoke coloured off cam? It looks like it got stuck in a fire and got major "smoke damage"(?).

      Oh no! And a manual chronograph no matter the cost is still pricy to fix! Yeah I baby these things (maybe not as much as I used to) but the one that had the crown break off wasn't even the manual wind! Go figure! Sorry about your 1963! I hope you get it fixed!

    What a nightmare and terrible company to deal with! I have a $60 Casio that has been leaky since I got it and it drove me nuts that they didn't replace it and took 6 weeks to fix. Not to mention I had to pay shipping. I need to send it in again and I have been putting it off because it's such a crappy experience. Can only imagine how unhappy I would be with a watch in the thousands!
