GENIUS TECHNIQUE! it looks super easy, and you demonstrated it very well. i like that this binding makes each page double sided, and how each page is still complete, without any holes or anything. i might consider binding some of my old loose leaf sketches like this! (btw that accordion fold is ALSO GENIUS. so quick!! the way id normally do a fold like that would take literally forever, i will now be using this method for the rest of my life lol!!)
I kind of wish no one had pointed out the harmonica/accordion word mix up... I could tell you were happy and proud to have learned a new word (and how to pronounce it so beautifully) in a 2nd language that I would have hated to be the one to burst your enthusiasm bubble! Your pronouncination is perfect BTW! Learning a new language as an adult is not easy and learning English is one of the harder languages to learn, so I admire how well you have done! Oh, and the book is really cool too!
Oh Fairy I was thinkin the same thing... I ADORED the word harmonica and it made PERFECT sense to me... it is actually a very correct word and description of that GORGEOUS book. :-) When I speak spanish (poorly I might add) I do worry about how silly I sound but then I fall back on the fact that it isnt my first language. Also, I am by trade an American Sign Language Interpreter for the Deaf and although I am fluent, the Deaf Community still says they can easily spot a non-native signer. Same with most other languages any of us attempt. The bottom line is, did communication happen? Cool! Did anybody die? Sweet! Was there a few chuckles at my way of speaking or signing? Of course! But they always spot a good heart, a genuine attempt to connect and nothing else matters. I can not say just how endearing Marta is, her sweet phrases and pure joy she shares so openly with us. I feel as if she is talking directly to me and I feel so blessed she shares so much. We lucky folks, huh!? :-) @maremismallart, #maremismallart
I like how you show us both when it goes smoothly and when it doesn't go so smoothly and tell us what was hard for you - it is incredibly inspiring and energizing!!
I love your little book! Many years ago when I was trading ATC's with a couple of online groups I created a book to keep them in them someone had given us the "recipe" for. It was a basic plastic binder with metal rings and then using fabric and cotton batting for quilting and fabric glue we made our own personal ATC holder with baseball card pocket pages. You used the fabric just like you did, but you put a layer of the cotton batting on the outside of the whole binder underneath the fabric. We then used matching fabric on the inside so that it no longer looked like a basic three ring binder. I am NOT a woman who can sew much at all, but this was very easy and I was really pleased with the result. Your sweet "harmonica" journal made me think of it and I just love how yours turned out. I also think that you did a bang up job on pronouncing harmonica as well. English is a hard language to learn and you do terrific with it and your lovely accent and is always a pleasure to hear.
Thank you so much ! ❤❤❤ I would love to invite you to see my newest video: ruclips.net/video/sbcg_QgS8Pg/видео.html art journaling is back! Have a lovely day! ❤❤❤
I simply love watching your video and I resonate with your comments about “it does not have to be perfect”. It is a great reminder to just enjoy the journey. You’ve explored a method which you think would work, not as easy as you thought initially but when you finally got it, I felt your joy! Thank you 👏🏽
I am so excited about the binding! I probably won't sleep. I've got to get some painting done! In your honor, my book will forever be called harmonica book. You are such a love, your art shows your love and so does your beautiful personality! I did the envelope lesson, I loved it, just have to bind. Thanks for bringing this excitement to my life! Love and hugs!
I loved this and now I know what to do with my pages of mixed media art!!! I have to check out your envelope video too!!! Thanks so much for doing this for us - I love, love, love it!!! Big Hugs and blessings to you always!!!

I just love everything about your videos. You are absolutely brilliant. Your charming speech and your wonderful comments are so refreshing. You should be so very proud of yourself for speaking English as a second language and doing it so very well. The little mistakes you make, add to the pleasure I get out of spending time watching you. I love, love, love it and you
It is definitely better to see the whole process. I'm going to make a HARMONICA book myself ....love you Marta because you so REAL and I really love that about you.

I love watching all of your videos. You are such an encourager and you inspire me so much. I am amazed at how good your English is. Thank you for sharing your talent.
this is just what i needed for my scrapbook lose pages binding...i was struggling with it..as scrapbook has so many elements...and traditional binding was not serving the purpose...everypage has its individuality yet they are together...thanks a lot ma'am for such cost effective ideas. love them
This video is completely charming. I love the way you get so excited by your results! The journal turned out perfect and I plan to use this idea in the future.
Hi there,a new, wonderful way to bind my pages together, thank you, Marta. I love this method because with my glue gun, a cereal box, and some paper, I'm basically good to go. Watching the glitches (cheap tape, difficult book cover), you have cleared the way for others who can learn about the tough issues and hopefully bypass them (I think I'll gesso and paint my cover instead-lol). Wonderful outcome and fun seeing your "break a page" series. Jane
Awesome idea! And don’t worry about you videos being long, personally I like them. You give a lot of useful advise and now I’m dying to buy some supplies to start my own art journal.
Amazing I love all of the art pages and your right you could attach it with all kinds of various binding methods so this is great to see another way of doing things.

That´s it! English is my second language too and I decided to call it Harmonica fold from now and on : ) Thank you Martha, I love this bookbinding style that´s so much easier than others. I´ll give it a try

I love the idea of accordion pleats and the cover is adorable!!!!!!! You could also add a couple more back pieces to the back page to hold it more secure, too! Just a thought! I just love you!
wow Marta this is great, I love the fact you it's easy and simple. when it gets complicated I tend to leave it, so thanks for making my life so much easier 😊

Hi and Thanks, Marta, I re-watched this :) I want to make a junk journal using this binding method. You refreshed my memory. Hope you are all staying safe and well :( Hugz xx
My Dear you did a beautiful job of your lovely folder and how you covered the folder with fabric. I Cover My diary that way with plain colour fabric and edge with lace and hand made flowers . Thank you so kindly for sharing, you spark lots and lots of joy💕
I just watched this video, and think it is delightful, both in your presentation and the content. Love all your pages. I am seriously considering making something like this, now that I have seen how you did it. Love your style, very friendly and helpful.
I am so grateful for this technique for I too have so many loose pieces and thought of doing the very same, turning into a journal. I thank you. I just love watching your videos you are ever so inspiring. My blessed love. How's the family, I'm sure it's a little boy you had and your husband? Take care, going on to your next video, X.
I've been looking for a video like this one for ages! When I first started art journaling, I didn't have an actual journal so I realy have a lot of separate pages wich I didn't knew how to combine them. Thank you for showing this! I will definatly try it!
You are so sweet and you really got me interested in this type of art. I have already made 2 of my family members something and graduation card and I am not starting on a journal. thank you for the inspiration. And btw you said the right word it is a harmonica fold. I watch your video's constantly keep making more!!
Thank you so much for this awesome tutorial! I nearly gave up in despair as other tutorials require sewing but your idea saved the day! You are my art hero!! 💖
Yay, managed to watch this!! It's funny as I haven't thought about creating book covers since school days (many many many.... years ago😹). We HAD to cover every single one (& there were loads) of our text books, to protect them. Yes, it was a rule, not optional. A lot of mine were done using leftover wallpaper. Using fabric looks beautiful and the binding works extremely well! I bought some fabric glue but haven't used it yet. Maybe I can think about making a journal like this? It will probably be blank pages as anything I've made before won't be the same size. Wow, I am so inspired by this, Marta. How glad am I, to have taken the time to watch your video? Very very glad!! Absolutely delightful! Thank you lots and lots for sharing this. Of course now, I want to see you make the envelope version, lol. Bless you🦋👏🐾🐾
Yay I am so happy to hear. Now you definitely must make a book like this kind. You will enjoy it. Off to go crafting too 😊 well first thing... Putting Hannah to bed 🛏 😴 😁
Maremi, you always inspire me. I have been looking for a simple effective binding system for my photo journals and once again you have shown me the way. Much happiness and success to you in 2019.
I loved this so much! I feel like your calm attitude to working with your art makes everything so lovely. Also this idea is so freaking creative, it's very impressive! Much love 💞
I have watched this over and over, because it caught my interest. I was afraid to try it, though, because once you commit your pages to that tape, that is it. I belong to Art Journal Prompts-hosted by Nina Ribena. Each of my pages are single 6x7 pages that I have been putting three holes in and holding them together with three metal rings, (I dislike the metal rings) and decided to put my weeks together using your accordion method. I used 4.5x11" strips of scrapbook paper folded into half and then half again. How scary the process was, but it turned out well. I still will have to add weeks 22-26 when they are done, but I am not afraid now. I will do the final bind when the 26th week is done. That will make 26 weeks out of 52 and then I will do the same with the remaining 26 weeks in book 2. Thank you so much for demonstrating this method and repeating the mantra "Don't be afraid, be brave."
Oh, Marta! You're so adorable. I've been watching your more recent tutorials and then I stumbled across this little gem. I adore your spirit for learning, your artistic eye, your lovely voice and accent in speaking English. To me, it is very soothing. You are absolutely precious. I love your audience, too. They are all so sweet and supportive. I think from now on, I too shall call accordians harmonicas!
You are brilliant! I’ve added this method to my saved videos!!❤️
You make me happy. Your abandon and joy is inspiring. Thank you for sharing with us.
