Styrofoam, not great for the environment but 99% of us aren't throwing the packaging away! I'll have to look into getting one of these. I've only gotten the five Stunticons from XTB but I like the quality. I like the look of my G1 Skids but the Takara toy was garbage. It didn't take long to get all floppy and start falling apart which is odd as most my other G1 figures are still pretty tight. (Except for Prime's feet.) I was sad because I really like the way he looks and has one of the nicest head sculpts!
I do really like the metallic blue paint on XTB's version!

I was too young to remember much from the cartoon series, but I like to think that I've at least seen images (if not real ones) of all the G1 figures. But I'd never seen or heard of Skids before, pretty good looking figure! I was surprised to hear you say you didn't display his car mode upside down or on his side though, haha... Great effects and informative as always, well done Michael :)

I have the Herald mold of this car and it is my favorite MP Transformer. I think X-Transbots knocked this one out of the park.
Nice review of this! Shocking how good these third parties can be. When you pulled it out, I was a little underwhelmed because I thought the windows were black. Interesting they carried over that detail! Nerdmaste!

At 7:22 Not a minivan, think of him as what we would call a "CRV" nowadays. Yeah, calling it a Hatchback is fine, too. At 18:30 That gun is not meant to be held in his hand, only the forearms. It's meant to be a dual-barreled, Twin electron blaster that shoots 20,000 volts to short-circuit almost anything. The other is a Liquid Nitrogen rifle with a pitiful 600 foot range (maybe Ironhide would be impressed, haha). At 19:48 That's awesome! I agree that it is impressive. Crap, he's affordable and I may just buy him just because he's so obscure and infamous for that, plus, Takara/Hasbro will not may an Masterpiece version, I can almost guarantee that. Great review! Keep up on the special effects. I know it takes time to do, but it's worth it. =P

I know Skids in a couple episodes background character. I think his main lines were in the Insecticon syndrome.
Unfortunately only one of two speaking parts are in the episode "The Insecticon Syndrome" at the beginning of this video (and throughout, lol) as well as at 28:43. While his only other appearance is in "Triple Takeover" where is crushed by the Constructicons in Blitzwing's highway maze. Would have been interesting if he had gotten a death in the movie or even been a right-hand man to Rodimus Prime (as opposed to Perceptor). At least he got a whole Marvel Comic issue to himself. Still, he was left in a ditch, haha.
when you showed the price of it I was kind of put off given the size of the box. after looking at what came out of the box though I'm seriously considering getting that little guy. It's one of the nicer vehicle modes I've seen. I'm impressed by the options you get for displaying the toy. You could have him parked with the doors and hatch open in a diorama type pose with a figure pulling the scooter out to go for a ride. I like that since I usually display all my toys in robot mode because the vehicle modes are kind of boring. This guy looks good in every mode and every angle.
Now we need an MP Getaway.
