Mineral sunscreens NEED OIL CLEANSERS. The korean ones sre easy to wash off but minerals really stick to the skin. The powders make them so much more long lasting
When I skip oil cleansing and go straight to gel cleansing, I can literally scrape my sunscreen layer off my face after. It’ll be all under my nails. So yes oil cleansing is a must depending on the sunscreen used
I add a few drops of almond oil to my face wash and my makeup comes off so well. Then I do a second wash of just cleanser and it leaves my skin so nice :) and it's pretty cheap
I do the same and have been for years. Wayyyy before the intro of oil cleansers. Almond oil is amazing. Removes makeup and can be used as a facial oil.
I started using a makeup remover followed by a cleanser 50+ years ago to remove stage makeup. The habit stuck, which turned out to be a good thing when using water resistant sunscreen became popular and readily available. If I’m not wearing makeup or water resistant sunscreen, I just use a cleanser.
An oil cleanser is an absolute must with Australian gold tinted SPF 50 BB cream. It's so super waterproof you literally can't get it off without an oil cleanser.
I use grape seed oil daily as an oil cleanse to remove sunscreen and makeup including waterproof mascara, then I wash with a gentle foam cleanser. It turns milky white like any cream cleanser does.
I just use a gentle cleanser but do two washes if I’ve been wearing sunscreen. Works just fine. On my body I don’t even bother, I use gentle Castile soap and it works great.
I've been using water resistant sunscreen since 2015 and I've been removing it with cleansing lotion all along. Recently where oil cleanser or double cleansing is a thing, made me quite anxious and made me wonder if my cleanser was enough. Thanks for clearing it up
I don't know how I would remove my water resistant sunscreen without an oil or balm. Sometimes even after double cleansing I would have little traces around the eyes.
I was so against cleansing balms and oil cleansers because I have oily skin. I recently started religiously wearing sunscreen and I noticed it was so hard removing with only water based cleansers alone. I bought Farmacy's Clearly Clean cleansing balm and my sebaceous filaments have decreased dramatically. I swear by cleansing balms now!
The best one step cleanser to remove even waterproof mascara and makeup is Purity Made Simple Cleanser by Philosophy. It’s still the best selling cleanser in the US. It’s gentle but cleans the pores well. I refer you to the videos by QVC on product Info & demos. I’m 59 & have been using that for over 20 years.😉
I don’t feel clean going in with just a cleanser. I know it takes the surface things off but after I’ve been sweating and applying layers of sunscreen I want to get the gunk completely out. Too many sebaceous filaments come out in my hands during an oil cleanse for me to feel comfortable skipping on it😭
I've been using Cinique's "Take The Day Off" cleansing balm for years and love it. When I re-ordered it on Amazon, I managed to get the charcoal balm instead. This resulted in my developing blepharitis, because it didn't clean my eye makeup as well as the original product. So disappointed!
How do people know if the sunscreen isn’t washed off properly? Mine is clear in my face and I can’t feel any residue so how would anyone know if it’s off or not?
I have never used an oil cleanser my whole life or to many extra things. I hardly ever used makeup remover either except ponds a very long time ago. I just remove it with cerave hydrating face wash and a microfiber wash cloth, then wash a second time.
Ive been having the worst break out of my life and what has really helped has been only using oul cleanser. Maybe my normal cleanser was irritaring me too much
I work in the sun.yes sunblock always and backlava neck and face.and long sleeves. Question, can I use a aloe Vera gel on my face after I cleanse for a bit like a few hours then remove and do my night time routine, Cleanse again, moisterize around nose lips and eyes with cerve balm and moisterizer then wait and then apply trentinion.
It's so funny. I'm an age where doctors used to give us tons of drying and stripping products along with Retin A. Now at 51, there are so many gentle products and skin repair creams that my skin looks better now than in my twenties.
Can you make a video of skincare hygiene? Do you wash/dry your hands between each skincare step? Does washing makeup brushes and sponges actually clean them well enough?
I agree skin feels super smooth after double cleansing but sometimes i feel it irritates my skin specially when i m using tretinion . Therefore shall i use it on alternate days ?
I have oily skin, been using cleansing oil for a little while now. but i see marks on the side of my mouth. I'm not sure if it's due to the oil and cleansing after, dried out my skin. or if it's because of the tatcha rice wash. as i almost use it every day, or every other day.
does the same go to kids? how to wash spf off kids face, not to damage their skin barrier/microbiom. what age should a kid start to whash off spf with a cleanser? and what a the best for what age? (starting baby, i guess. although, i cannot emaging washing baby face with a cleanser).
Started with oil cleansing a few weeks ago and I have a bad breakout on my nose area can someone tell me what went wrong here I have dry sensitive skin the the way.
Everyday, I dont use any make up, just serum, mstrizer, and sunscreen in the morning. Do i still need double cleansing? And what kind of doble cleanser i can use, micellar water or oil balm?
Oil cleanser is the only one that doesn't make my super dry skin even more dry. The best thing I did in the past year is buying this. Tho in my country there was only nivea brand of oil cleanser, now they stopped producing those and I don't know what to do..everything else (shopping online) is just too expensive for me..

I find oil cleansers very stripping on my skin(I've used the hado labo one), which is very counter intuitive, and I don't know why. Whenever I used it, my skin just feel very dry and tight. So I ended up just use my regular cleanser(Vanicream or Cerave) twice to remove the sunscreen. Been doing that for years. It worked really well for me.
Even if I wash twice with my ‘Vanicream Gentle Facial Cleanser’, it still doesn’t remove all of the sunscreen. I’m using the ‘La Roche-Posay Mineral Sunscreen’, and it’s just so hard to remove it with my regular cleanser even if I wash my face multiple times with it. I still end up with residue from the sunscreen that wasn’t properly washed off.
However; heavy makeup wearers: please use oil cleansers. Makeup wipes are a waste of money and awful in general. Plus, you’ll always have residue if you don’t double cleanse
I love to gently massage in Pond’s fragrance free cold cream and gently tissue off my face, neck and chest. Then I use Cetaphil Gentle Cleaser and gently massage that into my face, neck and chest. Lastly, I wet a paper towel and gently wipe the Cetaphil Gentle Cleanser off my face neck and chest and let that air dry. This works well for me! Good luck
Y'all know Sunflower Oil exists, right? And it's absolutely one of the best oils for use on the body. It's super light and thin, won't clog pores and can be used all over and in your hair. I also use it in salt scrubs.
Wonder what this dermatologist would say to me for washing my face with Dawn dish soap. My hair two or more (up to 4 times a day in summer) times a day. No face creams or lotions either.
Oil cleansers are good to remove “the day” off your face.

A simple cleanser probably won’t efficiently remove sunscreen. I think that’s why I used to break out so much before doing the double cleanse

Not if the oil cleanser is one that rinses off cleanly. Some leave a weird film that can be annoying to remove.
